Okay so these are not my final thoughts since I haven't watched the last 2 eps yet, but so far up until episode 10 I was like: YES these people heard 'show, don't tell' and understood the assignment. I was loving it more and more as the episodes go on. HOWEVER and this is a personal thing, not a general thing, as someone who has trouble with dissociating/disconnecting, I had a hard time connecting to Cake's feelings when he came back. It almost feels like they had this beautiful slow paced build up and suddenly found themselves with only 4 episodes left to not only start, but also wrap the romance up. It feels kinda jarring (I watched 12 episodes in 1 sitting might I add to make sure I didn't mess up the pacing for myself, as like I said, I dissociate a lot) We didn't even get time to adjust after not seeing each other for years. But like I said that's only my thoughts so far. Still a great show and I loved how for the first time they actually showed the friendship and dynamic and took their time to explore that before all the romance stuff. (Also lowkey spoiler? Idk but, is it just me or was it a weirdly timed first kiss? Like these guys have had plenty of opportunities and decided somehow with others at the apartment was the time to get hot and heavy xD I mean, to each their own but damnnn do I sense a new kink? lmao jk but still )
That might have been the worst series ever. The Rain/Phayu story was OK, although there was no logical progression…
God, I'm still working up the motivation for the last 2 episodes... How on earth were people this excited for Sky and Pai's story to begin a month ago. I agree that Rain and Phayu's was at least tolerable compared to the second couple.
Are Thai dramas serious??? I can't believe they played the ABC / Alphabet song instrumental @ 14:45 time mark…
I've heard the cover of joy to the world 1 to many times throughout random bl scenes too at the weirdest times. I'm not sure who picks these songs lmao
Personally, I love when BLs have a plotline outside of just "two boys meet and fall in love". Of course the romance…
funnily enough I ended up not caring for all of the shows you mentioned when I absolutely LOVE fantasy, it's my favorite genre. The thing is, when you create a bl that is more plot focused rather than getting 2 mains to fall in love, you put yourself in a position where the story needs to be as strong if not stronger than all the regular fantasy shows out there. And so far, in my opinion, they haven't been able to meet that expectation which makes the show a hard rate for me. It's either low because I have seen way better fantasy shows or it is average based on the romance since I've seen way better developed characters and relationships. It's sad, but it's a common thing I've seen where bl's really try to just be a regular show which i commend them for since sexuality shouldn't be straight by default in all your other average fantasy shows. And sexuality should just be more of a side note rather than turning it into a spectacle in the first place. But often they juggle too much between committing to a well developed plot vs creating our swoon worthy bl couple dynamic (not to mention that sometimes it's just not a likeable character or a healthy relationship, which is common in any type of show especially tailored to young adults and teens. I tend to find that even in regular shows they often mess up on that part though) But, I can be very picky and critical because it is my favorite genre, so I have a lot to compare it too. Just my 2 cents, but it will probably be different for other people :) (I'm also critical since working in a creative field helps me develop my skill as well. Sometimes I just watch shows to feel brain dead so I'll be biased those days and rate some really cheesy dumb shows a bit higher than the ones that tried to be more thought provoking. When you make a show where people know it's just going to be corny and bad they won't be as critical as when they expect a show to be truly well developed and engaging. Triage made me angry because I came up with so many solutions way before our main character did. It made him look dumb in a show where he was supposed to outsmart the system imo) They aren't bad shows, it's kind of a tough love situation where you are harsh because you just want and expect so much more. And it is frustrating when they can't quite hit the mark when you have faith that this time they'll be able to do it.
depends on what level of intimacy you want. There is, but it's not as heated as something like love in the air
Oh I binged the whole thing this week, it's really addictive to me XD And my lord... they definitely did not shy away in one particular NC scene. But ofc there are straight couples as well. I still need to finish the last 2 eps of season 2 though

To be honest, it is still kinda new. People used to be a lot more conservative with their LGBT shows, so most don't even come close to Love in the air. The ones I can mention you probably have already seen (some only having good kissing scenes but that's about it): • Cutie pie • War of y • Don’t say no • Innocent • Kinnporsche • Long time no see • Second chance (honourable mention, that first kiss was breath taking and so real! But not a lot of steam besides that) • Tharntype • Lovely Writer • Love with benefits (not the most interesting show, but we have different kissing partners for the same people) • Not me • Some more (not my fave) • Young Royals (Swedish on netflix)
Oh and ofc there are americans shows like Queer as folk that are more mature. (there are a few like 'check out' that I won't mention since most people didn't enjoy the show nor the actual NC scenes)
People don't often state it, but 99% of BL characters are Bi, so I'm not sure there's a lack of representation.…
yep and when they don't state it, it's often one of those 'I'm gay for you' tropes. Where the protagonist has never even looked at another guy before dating the love interest. AND enough gay people have tried straight relationships, so it's still not a given that they are bi or gay at all
How did their clothes disappear during the night? 🤔😀
They really left us out on that one. We went from a potential car scene (god knows what he whipped out of that glove compartment) to disappearing clothes at night.
Not this boy lying to Nhai and all of us xD Sure, a car with tinted windows huh? Sir, we have been looking at you from outside those windows. The whole neighborhood has been looking at you through those 'dark' windows. 'no one can see us' smh xD
2 months, 3 weeks and 2 days left before the binge starts xD Ya'll what is life right now which apparently converts to : 7,257,600 seconds 120,960 minutes 2016 hours 84 days 12 weeks 23.01% of a year
Fair, I didn't even realize it came across as if they were in a relationship xD I guess I let it slide since people…
Honestly Mangkorn just needs to stick to one person at a time xD I can't keep up with this man. He was getting all horned up by this other girl that he was adamant about 'it not being what it looks like' but also it being exactly what it looks like, sleeps with Yai whom he is kinda forcing to admit that he has feelings for him whilst kinda blackmailing him but also seemingly liking him back and is engaged to a childhood friend that he family zoned. Meanwhile he is acting like he is trapped in this engagement when his mother literally told him last episode that it's modern day, he ain't in an arranged marriage, it's simply that his dad is overly excited. (I think that's what she said, tbf half of this show is forgotten the minute another person pops up on screen, but at least it's on theme with how the characters act themselves as well XD) And YES to no over the top reactions! And mom was cool about the whole thing, maybe a bit too cool after seeing the mess they made downstairs xD I would be side eying them just for shits and giggles after seeing that
OK so this whole episode should be deemed "that escalated quickly".Since when are they in a relationship? Did…
Fair, I didn't even realize it came across as if they were in a relationship xD I guess I let it slide since people kinda act like this in real life. Non verbally deciding that whatever they are doing means it should be to some level exclusive even if there is no relationship established. that's why hook up culture is a hot mess But to Yai's credit he didn't throw a fit over the Hong thing, more so over being left out in the dark, which even as a side piece I'd be annoyed by. Still got to protect your emotional and sexual health, even if it is just a hook up.
Hmm. That was actually not bad - but it continues to be a really good production and a bad one shuffled together.…
God the day I see a show actually dare to choose the second lead and establish a healthy and mutual relationship. Lowkey though... that seaweed brand is insanely good. It's ridiculously expensive where I'm from, 6 bucks for a bag of seaweed strips, but dangggg I could have one of those any day
What is this, gaslighting 101? :/ Here I am praising Yai for actually trying to maturely handle Mangkorn's 'big secret' by telling him it's not about what the secret was, but the fact that he kept him in the dark about it when it heavily impacts him going forward. Valid reason to be upset, yet he is there standing in front of you trying to talk to you about it instead of running away or throwing a fit. Meanwhile Mangkorn has the AUDICITY to switch roles and blame Yai for forcing him to tell something he 'wasn't ready to tell'. Sir I am the biggest advocate for people being allowed to have their privacy and secrets, if you don't feel ready that is okay and others should respect that. But oh boy, you KNOW that argument doesn't not hold up in this particular situation. Like this is how cheaters lie... good god Also why do they always shoot themselves in the foot by making the second lead soooo much better than the love interest :( I'm shipping it so far. Probably have to make him shitty for people to turn to Mangkorn again
