not something i'd think of as scary just... creepy. the anthology gives off the vibe of friends sitting in the dark telling each other spooky stories. it's not that deep or scary at all but it's all good fun! if you're looking for a Horror movie with a capital H you'll be let down
Lots of fun! I wish we got a little more insight into the characters beyond the basic premise, but tbf that wasn't the point of the movie that's just me wanting to know things. Anyways, their dynamic is fun to watch and the fight scenes were amazingly done!
i dropped this drama weeks ago bcoz i couldn't seem to take all the pain im about to experience watching. last…
Honestly Makki really suffered a lot because of them! But I had to finish because I needed to know Makki was ok. Mieko putting all that daddy-issues pressure on Makki sucked, he was just a kid like her. He couldn't extract himself from her though because he couldn't help but care about her too.... But I can't blame her all the way, because I do think that a lot of her actions she thought was the best so that the 3 of them could stay together and she didn't want to lose another family. She was just a kid too. That doesn't make everything ok ofc but tbh I'm more pissed with Eiji out of them all. He was the adult who pulled 2 TEENAGERS into his world and made his problems their business/their problems to fix. The dangers of an age-gap relationship like this... the damage it did to poor Makki :( He was 16-19 through the whole mess!! And just... ugh. all of this happened because Eiji was desperate to conform to what his dad/society wanted. He valued it more than Makki. In the end, it wasn't about what Eiji and Makki wanted together, it was about giving "what Eiji says he needs" which also suited Mieko just fine because what Eiji needed gave Mieko a place, but Makki had to swallow his own feelings (in his own relationship!! regarding his own future!!). Even when Makki tried voicing his feelings to Mieko, instead of genuinely helping her friend Mieko tried to lie and say the baby was his so he'd absolutely feel tied to them (I feel like it was partially well intentioned to include him, but also highkey manipulative because she could tell he wanted to leave and she didn't want that). And then Eiji just scolded him when he got upset because he thinks Mieko should come first in their relationship because of what she's doing "for them" (for YOU Eiji...). I'm glad Makki got out of all that... even if it seemed like they clicked so well at first, the way they tried to tie him into a life he didn't want was too much :( It became an almost toxic, teetering on co-dependent group of 3 and it was eating Makki up. It made me so mad, but I also appreciate that the drama didn't pretend that what they were doing was ok and showed just how damaging it was to Makki even years later. I do wish that we could've seen him heal more with Asato though, but I can see it heading in a good direction. He deserves that comfy warm life. Sorry for ranting i'm worked up on Makki's behalf kdjfhg
Makki running away from what was basically a baby trap - good for him good for him. I mean, I know there was consent so it's not exactly, but there was a lot of pressure to have that baby. "Mieko is doing this for US" Makki felt like he needed to follow through because it would help Eiji and Mieko was offering this for them. He was pulled so deep into the orbit of the other 2, as if it always had to be the 3 of them and they needed that baby to stay together, even though he mentioned he hated a baby's life being used for selfish reasons, he still followed through for them. But yeah Mieko even admitted that she was trying to find a way to keep Makki, who was like a father figure more than a friend to her, from leaving her ever, and laughed saying that it didn't work. I don't think she was a bad person, but I do think Makki was right to disentangle himself from all of that especially since it began to really hurt him. Poor guy was just 19. I'm glad he's found happiness with Asato.
I'm glad they broke up! Not only was it hard to get a couple vibe from them (it just felt like the friend group didn't change), the age gap was too much and Makki shouldn't have been expected to become a father at 19 for Eiji's sake. They were 16 and 22 at the start which was already creepy - they were at different points in their lives, even if they framed them getting together in a not-creepy way. A 22 year old shouldn't have been pursuing a 16 year old, sorry you don't know how to talk to your peers but like???? figure it out???? don't pursue a guy in his 1st year of high school??? and ofc in the end as they both got older they both wanted/needed different things. I could already see the fractures when Eiji gave up what he wanted to do to join his dad's company because that's "what he should do". That became the pattern with Eiji. Eiji could've fought for Makki, but more than wanting Makki he wanted to be "normal", and he gave up a lot of things that made him happy to make that happen. I understand it's not easy being gay in Japan and there's a pressure to conform, but also I don't feel bad that Eiji ended the series crying - those are the choices he made and Makki didn't have to put up with that. He didn't want to be a secret from the world forever and a father at 19 years of age just to make his older boyfriend's father happy (while his girl friend Mieko was the one on the family register and the one everyone considered Eiji's wife). It's painful.
Had a lot of fun watching this! I loved the twists in this bottle-episode murder mystery! The ending though omgggggg
I'd love to get some more answers, but there's also some fun to the sinister like vagueness of it all. This whole time it was about secrets and trust and by the end we the viewers don't trust [redacted] anymore and want to know the ultimate secret. There's also potential for a follow-up (or maybe i'm greedy). Idk if they will, but i'll be there if they do!
I thought it was good! Not a masterpiece, but a good film! I loved the combo of ghost hunting equipment and shamanism - reminded me of Ghost Hunt a lot in that sense (oh boy that would be a cool series to give a live action adaptation...). There were creepy moments, but ultimately not scary and had more of a sad message to it, so don't watch this if you want to be really scared (unless you scare easily I guess). Side note, I've realized that now I just need to watch Mother and then I've seen everything that little girl Heo Yool has been in! She really does love acting in spooky films, I respect that lol.
Ugh AvenueX. Terrible youtuber with opinions that are easily bought. I will never forget or forgive her behaviour…
Yeah paid or not she was irresponsible with her reporting and was in the wrong for never posting corrections when her info was debunked. From what i've seen her discord is even worse in their conduct and rumor mongering and she's right in the thick of it. But yes, as you said it's no loss because her content isn't the best in the first place, and I can't imagine anything she's been saying about this drama really adds to the conversation. I feel bad for the people who don't know better and trust her.
AvenueX recently ranted this drama and she said this drama is a fail for her. It didnt meet her expectation as…
Ugh AvenueX. Terrible youtuber with opinions that are easily bought. I will never forget or forgive her behaviour during the peak of the Zhang Zhehan incident and how she refused to correct anything she said when new information came to light showing his innocence (it's highly suspected she was paid to help slander him). She acts like she has the inside scoop and everyone should trust her, but only spreads the stories the way she wants, not facts. I wouldn't bother listening to her.
There's something about an obvious kid entering the adult world and acting like they know it all and so ignore…
Remember that I did acknowledge that he acts this way because he's a teen, but that doesn't mean it's any easier to watch his behaviour (not all teens are like him either).
I think you're misremebering the scene, because in ep 6 when he won that competition he jumped down and went up to QH saying "I'm a winner!" He did not share the credit. He didn't crack the 3rd security level, QH did, the kid got stuck and QH stepped in and won. That was never acknowledged. He declared himself QH's partner to Ma when he's an employee, and did not say QH was better than him just introduced him and then realized QH already knows Ma. Let's not even mention the fact that he stole his boss's pass to go to the event in the first place.
He is arrogant like QH yes but doesn't have the skill or good sense to back it up. Unfounded arrogance annoys me. Ep 5 he had a good heart but made everything worse because he meddled in an adult operation thinking he knew what was going on. That mess could have been avoided if he talked properly to QH or called the cops when he saw him snatched. Instead he got caught too and it became even more dangerous because QH had to look after him. Ep9 why on earth did he think revealing things about QH and CM to a stranger was appropriate? And 0 sense using full names with this person like not even trying to hide identities. He acts like an expert and then has no common sense - like that is internet 101! an 18 year old should be smarter than that. The fact that he's 18 not younger shocks me.
I can see that generations connecting could be the purpose for his inclusion, but I still think they could have written ZY better.
i know ZY acts this way because he's a teen.... but good lord is his attitude annoying me.... QH is a saint....
There's something about an obvious kid entering the adult world and acting like they know it all and so ignore the adults/think they're better than them that just annoys me. Like, not always, depending on the drama they DO know more/a lot but.... it's not framed like he actually knows what he's doing here so he's literally just an arrogant kid who thinks he's always right. QH cracked the 3rd security thing in the competition and ZY was like "look what I WON". He doesn't even know the person he's chatting with and he gives out personal info CONSTANTLY and leaks code all while acting like he's a pro. He literally asked for help with his code but then as soon as QH has a coding block he acts arrogant again like he didn't get help. He's not being helpful he's just being irritating i can't see his true purpose in the script (as in did they really need to add such an immature character?). And the fact that for some reason he's decided it's random stranger > QH despite literally working for QH and knowing he's a good person is odd. If i were QH sorry wouldn't have hired a kid for my cyber-security company.
At episode 6Was it really Qin Huai who breached the third defense?Because it doesn't make sense if he do it, when…
fr why was it ok for qin huai to do it lol! makes no sense if they're competing to allow someone to sub in for the other hacker. and then zhou you took all the credit and said HE won even tho he couldn't get past the 3rd defense and needed qin huai's help
Gawwwd idk how or why but the writers of this show didnt even utilise the great chemistry between the 2 MLs, the…
ikr? idk how they saw their characters play off each other SO WELL in mriad and went "throw that out" as if their fun banter and chemistry wasn't the only reason people stuck with mriad despite the fl kfjghs. the character work in this drama just feels so lackluster it's really a shame (even though they DID do much better with their women than mriad it just wasn't enough to make checkmate better than mriad in my books)
