Finallly watched it with subs and what can I say what a great film indeed. Japan has a way to make you feel suffocated…
Honestly of all of Tsumabuki's performances (and he has many movies and dramas I enjoyed more) I loved his performance in this movie most. He had perfect control of his energy and facial expression, he felt like a whole different person from anything I've seen him in before.
A bit on the depressing side, but gets quickly hopeful and more fun with the appearance of Ikematsu Sousuke's character Shunpei. I was surprised by Tsumabuki's character, with how low on energy he is, completely different from his usual roles. His character was the most interesting for me, as the movie gives enough to let us know of his weaknesses and the immense efforts he puts to overcome them though it might not show and you're constantly afraid that he would break any moment. The relationship between each family member with the other was also beautifully revealed. They are all good people yet difficulty communicating can sometimes create distance.
Kosuke (Tsumabuki)'s wife was the worst in my opinion. I understand her opinion but she came out as apathetic.
I wouldn't call it a comedy as the tag suggest. The beginning was pretty depressing but it did start to get entertaining as the story moved forward. Hikoshiro is easily a likable character so it's easy to root for him over other characters. The choice of music was... odd. Music rarely affects the way I view a show but here it was just so out of place. Overall a fun watch :)
Felt ilke an ad and the message is be good and resposible citizen. Bunch of random and trivial events that eventually…
Perfectly said it's exactly how I felt while watching it. I thought at least to write an article exposing the worst offenders. I mean at least the tree inspectors came clean with where they went wrong, but that Doctor? He should have his license revoked!
Couldn't keep my attention (took a couple of days to finish). The slow-paced side was enjoyable but I just couldn't identify what the movie was about the whole time watching it. Looking at Tsumabuki Satoshi though always brings a smile to my face :)
Can u pls let me know when we will find out who the killer is? Currently I am on ep 7
Well there’s a lot of red herrings. I think we find out on episode 10 if I remember correctly. I think by episode 7 the writers themselves hadn’t decided who to make the killer be :P
The main problem is the drama having an identity crisis, which is typical of law-themed kdramas that HAS to have a sob story.
Although it does make me curious about that era of the 80s-90s which seems nothing like the SK we know today (or have known the last 2 decades).
One of the main reasons I watched this drama is for Jung Ryeo Won, and the premise was interesting. I enjoyed the acting and characters, but the drama in the first 3/4 had nothing to do with the last 3 episodes. It just turned so melo that I just wanted to be over with.
It was enjoyable overall but melodrama just isn’t my thing.
This drama is about all that could go wrong in preparing a wedding and the new life that comes afterward. Even when no ill intentions and evil people are involved, that new step in life comes with ongoing difficulties.
When it comes to realism, this drama can be close to a 9 for me, in all it’s flawed characters and tediousness of life. But when it came to entertainment, it’s at most a 5 because I kept getting frustrated from the characters despite how realistic their actions were. Even though the ML does a lot of thoughtless things (don’t get me wrong it was really cringey how careless he can be), what annoyed me was the FL never owning up or even acknowledging her mistakes. Like when it came to listening to advice, she kept on ignoring her dad’s and her friend. I understand that she hated empty apologies, but when she doesn’t get it she blows things out of proportion.
The drama ends at the wedding, but I honestly worry about this couple because the challenges to come will surely be more difficult than what they endured. Especially when one of them, in this case the wife, as no intention to ever acknowledge their own errors and constantly pointing the finger.
What her friend warned her will definitely apply for this couple: “After marriage, you realize that it was heaven before marriage.”
I still think it’s a drama for everyone to watch because it does teach great lessons at what to watch out for as you’re getting to know the person before planning to move ahead.
Really don't think I should be hoping for them to break up. They don't seem to know each other at all and have…
Unfortunately that’s how a lot of marriages are in real life.
Like the question of what came first, the chicken or the egg, we won’t know if the complaints or the dependency came first, but one causes the other to increase over time as people keep on adjusting living with another human being.
The way the story evolved in this drama reminded me of the drama Kakenai!? how the writer kept winging it all throughout the drama to move the story forward and please the producer., especially as of episode 6. This drama makes me NOT want to be in a relationship ever again lol
The beginning wasn't that bad, despite the mania, the leads weren't being cringy or anything. But all 3 relationships were not equal and had a doormat (not always the female).
The 1 thing I kept asking myself throughout the whole drama was: why was Makoto trying to have Yurika buy a property, talking about his lavish life when he's just a freeloader?
It has an interesting premise, is weak in the acting department, and has good storytelling with the way the myth unfolded and finally concluded. The action was also nice and well choreographed, like a dance. It's the type of story where I wonder who the target audience is. It can be heavy, but simple. It gave me a bit of a Tokusatsu feel. Anyways, entertaining ride.
It's really good, but it was difficult for me to watch the first half because it's so (purposely) cringey. The drama being written reminds me of so many dramas LOL I have to admire the family as a whole, how wholesome they are
Loved it! Loved Tamaki Hiroshi in it too! Though I have to say, he is a couple of years too young for that particular…
I have to say, though Ippongi’s actions towards his gf in the past were shitty, it doesn’t mean she should just not tell him about their child, especially when she realized she wasn’t going to survive. Depending on a complete stranger or letting her child become an orphan when the father is alive and well, and a decent human being despite his flaws. She didn’t know he’d find the right family to grow up in. It’s irresponsible.
In the end the son has to go through this traumatic event with his foster father who had all these hidden issues. In reality a killer like that rarely is that empathetic.

Actually, I was expecting that "surprise ending" since all sides of the story were mentioning Gunma 20 years ago, so it all made sense. On the one hand, you feel for the criminal, on the other, the portrayal of the horror of his action makes you realize it is STILL unacceptable no matter how unfair life is. Anyways I totally recommend it.
So I'm 2 episodes in and, despite enjoying everything else, I cannot imagine what she can do to make up for it.…
haha kinda embarrassing to admit but after watching episode 2, I was looking for a comment mentioning Miyuki. I'm glad I kept watching since the story is so much more than some high school romance so I got over it haha. & we do see growth in the characters over all + she does redeem herself.
When people tell him he shouldn't fight, I don't get it. Never looks for fights, he actually finds it dumb, but he should stand with his friends when needed!
