All the scenarios and it just hit me that 9/10 of what I expect is based on the assumption that Sae Hee isn't what he appears to be on the surface. But the more I re-watch different parts I think we are using Ji Ho logic in Sae Hee's world. Things we know is he is very smart, judiciously honest, and a prodigy at strategy/calculation. What if that is it? From the previews he said something about because marriage/relationship he has a space in his heart. Does he mean that he realizes that he can love someone because he loved before or does it mean he has an empty space? (that can be filled). Either way it proves he can love!
Up to this point most scenarios are about him not loving because of something emotionally based. However Sae Hee the guru is about risk vs reward. So what if really is over the past emotionally and he just chooses not to fall in love/have romance because up until this point he's calculated the risk of inconveniences are much greater than the payout and counter productive to his goals. He is so freaking smart and logical, he already know what love entails. From the Mr. Ma soo ji kissing scene doesn't seem to be appalled by it so it makes me wonder if he just chooses predictable and safe because it's most comfortable for his personality.
So internally he probably really likes, cares and is attracted to ji ho. But because it's not apart of his goal, and he believes up to this point it's not in ji ho's plan (because never really says exactly how she feels, just small parts) he's been okay to just ignores his risky emotions.
It's entirely possible the only thing standing in the way of a real relationship is Ji ho to be honest about what she wants and Sae He to reprogram his navigation to include a real relationship. Because either he starts to understand how much more of a reward really being with her is in comparison to the risk/inconveniences in his calculations. Or he realizes that love is unpredictable but undeniable so you just have to roll with it. If you think about it like that a romance with kissing isn't that unreasonable.
Even in sports you sometime's have to take a chance as risky/illogical it seems to have that spectacular victory! :'D
When Se Hee handed Ji Ho money, I felt her pain. It was such a slap in the face. Ji Ho did everything because…
I was so mad because she was so honest! And right after that he handed her the money I was like WTF! He either didn't listen and understand her or chose to disregard it! When she called him back out I was so happy! Next week looks hilarious!
If it's a fantasy kiss I hope it's Sae Hee's dream! Like he saw her sitting by the water. It would be so funny seeing him try to rationalize it using biology and psychology! It would be great to see the tables turned :'D
Until we know what happened with the old wife I'm on the fence. I mean is she still alive? What if he is a widow?…
If she does show up they don't have much time left so I really hope she is just a footnote in his past to explain his attitude towards love. Maybe that is why the dad asked about them loving each other and his relationship with his dad?
I don't like the idea Se Hee was married once. When Ji Ho will know that, it will break her heart and I don't…
Until we know what happened with the old wife I'm on the fence. I mean is she still alive? What if he is a widow? Or did she abandon him for another guy or use him? Did they just grow apart or realize they made a mistake? Did her family disapprove? Was she pregnant and lose the baby? (I watch to much dramas Lol) There are so many possible scenarios that Ji Ho might understand after the initial shock! My only hope is she doesn't come back either! That would kill it for me probably.
Honestly, every time bok nam says fake husband I want to punch him! And I dislike the way Sae hee and Ji ho act like everything was their own misunderstanding! He admitted that he was at there wedding so he knew they were married. He admitted he was hitting on her/pursuing her. Fake or not you are a creep for pursuing someone else's spouse! He's lucky his bike was the only thing getting damaged. Maybe because I'm a more mature woman I didn't find his actions adorable but more immature and disrespectful not just to ji ho but also Sae Hee. Unless Sae hee pushes ji ho away I'm thinking bak nam is officially/voluntarily friend zoned!
Sae hee was married before? After the one love discussion I was so giddy for Ji Ho but after that revelation I really felt like crying! The question is how did it end? And what kind of person was she? Omg this show has me mental!
Bok Nam is still creepy though? If he was nice he should've just immediately accept that Ji Ho wasn't into him.I…
Exactly! The fact he was at their wedding makes me dislike his behavior even more! People get married for all sorts of reasons that don't involve love. The fact he admits he was hitting on her after she got married is creep like to me but should seem immature/disrespectful to most people. Ugh!
In the end other than great chemistry between the leads, and sometimes supporting leads, there is nothing special about this drama. It started out with potential but as the story and character development stalled it turned into another mediocre drama with a generic rushed ending. If it weren't for the chemistry I mentioned I think a lot of people would have dropped it mid series.
I think the saddest part was that there was so much great potential in the backstory of Li Zheng and Jin Li that it really went to waste! If they had just let Li Zheng confess mid series, they could have brought in Jin li's family conflict to bring Shoa Xi closer to him, and justified him pushing "Angelina" Xiao Qiao away as rebellion. That would have caused the needed jealous/tension in the relationship. Shoa Xi could have stayed tough and righteous, and Li Zheng would have had to learn about love, trust, respect, and friendship.
Honestly, it was to superficial to feel like a good slice of life story but had no real plot to give more purpose to the story than that! As a romance nothing was keeping them apart other that nonsensical misunderstanding and immaturity. As a comedy it was painfully melodramatic too! No real action, nothing particularly thrilling. So like I said if it wasn't for the few adorable moments and chemistry this drama would be 1 star overall in the end.
Episode 8 exceeded my expectations in so many ways! Guys, Se Hee is such a wonderfully written character and I…
Yes! Sae Hee's character is so refreshingly unique! It floors me the way that just subtle changes in his expression can be so heart wrenching or heart quickening. Everything in this drama has such a intelligent finesse it's unreal! A male lead that is intelligent, honest, thoughtful, respectful, and is confident about what he wants without being obnoxiously arrogant. He is charmingly awkward but not in a pitiful way. He listens to Ji Ho and values so many things about her that most people wouldn't appreciate.
The writer's have done an amazing job using restraint to let the characters naturally develop and story to carefully unfold. This is great storytelling and I'm hooked! Everything about this drama feels genuine and unpredictable even if it is realistically improbable. You never know for sure what is going to happen this makes it's addictive!
Gaaaah!!!!! I love this drama sooo much! First off, love the couple dynamics and especially the lead couple. Nam…
Yes! Yesterday I was recommending the show to a friend and when I described the character of Nam Sae Hee as a more introverted, less arrogant version of Sheldon. :'D
This drama is great so far! I just hope they don't add in a weird love triangle/square in the near future with the stoic office chick. This drama will stay awesome if they just focus on the characters relationships they have already and how those evolve! Especially when things don't seem to go exactly to plan is entertaining enough without extra melodrama :'D
So I take it they are living in a dorm now? Are they together? Ha, ha, sorry, I just want to know if we have to…
If it's like the manga sequel they start out living in apartments next to each other so practically live together. And he proposes pretty quickly but then there is a lot of back and forth about if might be rushing. Also when they moved out the landlady made the next rental contract temporary to the next renters after them so that when they were old enough they could move back into the apartment. So I wonder if they will just have them move back in, get engaged/married, or stay in apartment. Since the first season was pretty different from the manga you never know.
I wanted to love it but it's just to cutesy compared to the original story. They really softened the story and characters so there are plenty of warm and fuzziness and no bad habits. Sumire as a character is honestly to outwardly emotional in this adaptation. She comes across as more of a pitiful old maid type instead of the cold, beautiful, Amazonian, over achiever whose awkward insecurity causes most of her misunderstandings. Takeshi also losses that obnoxious but endearing perverted, free-spirted attitude instead he is portrayed as an extremely cute and sensitive boy. It makes for an adorable story but it's also irritating because there are a lot of adorable, cutsey, high school feeling, crush romances! One of the best parts of the original Kimi wa petto story is how absurdly messed up internally all the characters are but how their social conformity or non-conformity influences this. Without the hard edges you lose a lot of the sexual tension and raw emotions that push the characters to mature from this absurd relationship built on utility, to physical attraction, to friendship, and eventually romantic love. The leads have an adorable chemistry so it's not that it's a bad take on the story, for a romantic comedy for young girls as an audience it is great! But for me the sweet happy ending that the story originally has loses a lot of it's impact because the characters are just to cute and sweet to have that passionate yin yang dynamic. It feels somewhat unsatisfying in the end
