I watched this when it came out and tbh was so disappointed. There were a lot of good ideas with potential that they executed poorly. I honestly think the original concept was a webdrama or movie they decided to extend into a full length drama. It would have been much better as either one of those without the excessive filler/flashbacks.
The preview for the next episode looks like another freaking sad cliffhanger! I seriously am thinking of saving my heart from being crushed yet again if it is and waiting until next week until all episodes are out. Right now I have hope but seeing him push her away one more time no no no!
The show is entertaining but I am starting to have a serious love hate relationship with Sun Mi and Oh Gong as a couple. If it had been me I'd have made Sun mi more of a bad ass instead of a pitiful damsel in distress. Her background she should be able to take care of herself better and use to being isolated. I HATE the love side effect of the bracelet! Ya it guarantees sweet squee filled moments but it's such crap for this story and these characters. It's a magical toxic love affair ugh. I'd rather have them made him protect her at the cost of his own life and have a side effect where he can't lie to her ha ha! It would have been better to see him fall head over heels with her out of admiration/respect for being an above avg human that can handle her own and because of the truth effect have been the first to confess despite his own walls. And she would be the conflicted one because of walls she built. Now it seems they are adding a love rival probably to have oh gong escalate his feelings for her ugh. I love fluffy but all the forced love is a little cringy to me. Now the Ma Wang romance line is so wow, and the zombie/pig couple ha ha too cute, weird but actually sweet!

If the government shuts down the production because of work conditions and safety that means they can't film the show anymore. As for Netflix I don't think they own the show because it's not produced by them. They are just exclusively licenced by tvn to distribute the show in foreign markets, similar to viki and dramafever.
Ugh! So the show might not even get finish?! At this point they probably should just pull it and regroup. This show is definitely in the should have been preproduced category. I'd rather they pull it now and figure out a way to make it better/safer in the long run and rebroadcast in the spring or summer. It would suck if they keep having issues and have to just drop it or end it. Ugh, so many questionable choices makes you wonder who is driving the crazy train!

Also her brother being so close to him and he said he suspected about being a spy. I wouldn't be surprised if he believed it was all premeditated. So I can see it two ways. He finds out and they have to have some extreme life or death type situations like kidnapping for him to overcome his illness. Then he will either realizes near death life isn't worth living without her or she did something to sacrifice herself that proves to his mind that she truly loves him.
Or he doesn't find out until after he realizes there is a human version and starts to get close to her. But probably somewhere kidnapping is involved because of creepy thugs.
I'm getting negative vibes that the doctor is going to say they can't let him find out the truth or he will never get better. Since his condition is psychosomatic and stems from trust issues. If he realized that he was lied to he might never be able to trust and be close to someone ever again. That he also could psychologically and physically relapse maybe to the point his life could be threatened. That would bring in the "relationship martyrdom" trope.
I was wondering,.. so, if she tells him that she is not a robot, he won't trust her anymore and his allergy will…
I think that is how they are setting it up. I have a feeling the doctor is going to tell them that if he finds out about the betrayal of trust then he won't be able to ever get close to someone ever again. Maybe even have a severe psychological relapse that could be physically dangerous. So then she can never confess her feelings for fear he will be hurt irreparably.
Will they be re-releasing the first 2 episodes with fixed CGI and taking a break to prevent these silly mistakes…
The first two episodes have already been edited and released. Three and four just got pushed back another week. All the rest of the episodes are expected to run two a week as normal just pushed back a week from the original scheduled dates. They may end up doubling up at the end if they catch up but hopefully the series won't be shortened.
As for why all dramas are not preproduction it is cost. It incredibly hard to finance a preproduced drama. Film why airing dramas you can get sponsors as you go and real time event promotions. You can also actively adjust to trends. Preproduction you need almost all money upfront and finding investors willing to risk a greater amount of money without the same perks isn't easy. You probably have even noticed a lot of very noticeable product placement in many preproduced/partially preproduced dramas. I personally think most slice of life and rom com's can get away with film and air dramas, but i agree shows like this with a lot of action and fantasy elements should have been preproduced even if it meant super obvious product promotions. I hope if works itself out.

Is this a sad drama? I'm getting mixed messages from the clips. the synopsis sounds dark, tragic and unappealing to me. I don't mind conflict/melodrama but when it's ongoing suffering, illness, etc I am not a fan. I tend to wait until it aired to see if it's a happy ending. Maybe that is why others are avoiding it?

It's probably from being in the military. Everyone keeps saying he looks like he got plastic surgery and he needs to stop dieting. But you see idols going in service looking boyish all the time and come out after two years thinner, fitter, muscular, etc. He literally started filming as soon as he was discharged.
I'm reaffirming my position they need to reel in the sfx! If you go back and watch the first two episodes you can spot a dozen pointless cgi and wire effects. (like the floating blood to ring. Why not snap fingers, cut shot, appears in ring! The costumed demons on wires why? They are being digitally camouflaged by cgi with that visual miasma. Why didn't they just do a straight cgi miasma effect instead? Then they wouldn't have to sync effects to actors and remove wires!) You have great actors, great director, great writers so use plot, simple filming tricks and actors to create the illusions. Save the sfx for key moments when it's really needed and make those scenes impressive imho!
I expected the dark humor and supernatural stuff but I think they need to reel in the special effects a lot! After episode 1 I thought the story was interesting and actors were great but because of the special effects there are a lot of scenes that feel contrived and borderline cringy. Then after episode 2 disaster I really think they need to chill on the gimmicks and utilize the amazing talent of their cast! A good actor and a few basic camera tricks can be more convincing, cheaper and a hell of a lot less post production work imho. I'd hate to see quality keep suffering because of unnecessary elements.
Viki has it scheduled to be added today according to their community wall. I think a lot of the fan sub pages stopped subbing when Viki announced it was picking it up. You'll probably see other sites sub off those after they launch.
