This show … this show is everything. I’ve now watched more than 500 dramas, and this is as close to being…
Don't forget about the "Before Last Twilight" - there they get even more detailed about the challenges and how they were preparing both Jimmy and Sea for their roles. Respect for the whole crew and their dedication!
P'Aof's Moonlight Chicken is fantastic as well, I love the Li Ming-Heart relationship. The director is great at…
I only wish that he would make Alan/Gaipa develop more of a relationship (their individual storylines were great though - I rank them above Jim/Wen storyline).
They are both directed by P'Aof, that man is a genius!
I agree about P'Aof being a genius (if I remember correctly he directed A Tale of 1000 Stars and it was such a breath of fresh air for GMMTV at that time) but - I know it's unpopular opinion - Bad Buddy did not leave much of an impression on me. It was slightly better than other Uni series but not exactly groundbreaking or daring... At similar same time Not Me was being released and I was blown away by it by comparison. It's sad that GMM was not marketing it as they did with Bad Buddy and other series, additionally Not Me's budget was quite small (I think that had to cut 2 EPs). Still the series was great (Gun is simply a chameleon - cute and clueless in one shot, badass in another; let's add to it great First, social commentary and even incorporate real-life incident of rescuing kidnapped activists = recipe for success; I am not a fan of Off - he was better than in previous series but he is not on Gun's or First's level yet IMO).
I get you, the writing used to be more confusing and weirdly paced. Last Twilight is one of many new good thai…
I think it might be due to source materials - they usually base their series on novels but in case of Last Twilight* they had oryginal script and that makes a big difference (director and screenwriter are so important to make good series). Also social commentary is a nice change from usual highschool/uni/office romance that follows the same trajectory.
*as well as Only Friends and Not Me (I claim that it was not practically based on a novel because it had only names + the fact that twins switched places in common)
What sets P'Aof apart from other Thai directors is the intimacy he can portray with the barest of touches. Mohk…
I think he already knows but just refuses to accept it. Then comes to that his badminton partner, August - perhaps there was something brewing between them and that might make Day additionally confused about his feelings 🤔
I like how they are showing Mhok learning how to take care of Day (and not magically knowing everything). Like the stairs - he didn't say anything 1st time but then each subsequent time he remembered and even expanded (number of steps).
Let me give you spoiler: they don't actually get together (more like there might be something starting between…
HE for all, I would say. There are sad parts though. Gaipa has the saddest storyline, I think (but it is more to the end - have tissues ready when he sings). Alan's is not happy for most of the story but he gets better.
Can someone explain to me how Ai Di got in jail? Like I get he purposely went in to protect Bai Zong Yi, but I'm…
I think so - it was never exactly explained. Perhaps he did some minor thing and then stayed in by protecting him (we all know how he acts, so that could add to his sentence enough for them to stay the same amount of time)
Wow! The latest episode really hit the nail on the head with its take on the universal issue of aging. Talk about…
Wataru is such a brat 🤣 (and his goatee(?) is so weird - is this new trend in JP? Like no longer weird hairdos are in style - now weird beards are in! 🤔).
Every episode is a "contained" story but still I am hooked and eagerly await next one like it ended on a cliffhanger 🤭. So far my favourite was perhaps the one when Shiro was reminiscing about his ex (what a 🤬) and showing us that what we think we want is not always what we need, what makes us happy and who we ultimately love.
I haven't watched the drama yet so Idk if his story is actually boring but how will watching the things you say…
Exactly! Just because something is based on real-life experience doesn't make it automatically interesting. Besides this plot point is just one of the issues from 1st couple's storyline. 2nd couple had powerty, deafness, finding their place in the world. 3rd couple: being an ex and not being able to let go, unrequited love, family drama (not in the infighting but mostly wholesome and heartbreaking). I am not claiming that 1st couple had no substance or was super boring but they were overshadowed by the other storylines, I think. Their wasn't just so impactful. The other storylines happen regardless of gender and age, so perhaps they are more relatable?
I'm not surprised that a lot of people seems to be so into the 2nd and 3rd couples, as their previous show is…
Isn't this also true for 2nd couple? Liming was spending time with Heart, communicating with him when nobody else was, was standing up for him, helped expand his world (not only by regular excursions but the Church and University as well) and was encouraging him to be more self-reliant. Eyes gazing was there as well 😉
For me the supposed age gap between 1st couple was not believable (they should have +10 or +15 years between them). You can make mature relationship interesting without constant NC (or any 😉) - like in What Did You Eat Yesterday? I liked them much more in A Tale of 1000 Stars - here they were the least interesting couple/storyline for me but we all have our own preferences 😀.
I want to watch this for Khaotong and First but this drama is giving slow and lowkey sad vibes at least thats…
Let me give you spoiler: they don't actually get together (more like there might be something starting between them at the end of the series). However their storylines are great. One is playing Mix's ex and the other is being in love in Earth + his bond with his mother. Really beautiful and they both did great job with their characters, so one just have to root for them to be happy (especially together). The couple that stole the show (2nd couple) were boys from MSP - one of them plays deaf highschooler from rather wealthy family and the other highschooler is rather poor. 1st couple (Earth/Mix) was for me the least interesting (and the age gap was not convincing - Earth's character was supposedly in his 40's and Mix's in his 20's, I think).
I'm on beginning of EP4 and I am quite sure that the boy with disability had the rap sheet due to being scapegoat for each and every offence (including the last one). Maybe he was an accomplice but he did not do it all alone.
*as well as Only Friends and Not Me (I claim that it was not practically based on a novel because it had only names + the fact that twins switched places in common)
It reminded me of that scene in "A time called you" 😭 (I watched only BL cut).
There are sad parts though. Gaipa has the saddest storyline, I think (but it is more to the end - have tissues ready when he sings). Alan's is not happy for most of the story but he gets better.
