Everyone is a psycho in this drama except Eun Pyung 😂😂
Yes and at the moment Ra El is the biggest psycho, she is almost reckless. She doesn’t care about anything, you could see So Ra fear in her eye when she confronted her and So Ra has the most to loose. Ra El is also cleverer and calculating so it will be a good fight.
I can’t understand the way these conglomerates heads treat their children. They are just commodities. No wonder they have psychological problems. Kang Yoon father is despicable beating him with a belt because his mother was a maid and causing her death? He is the one that made the mess by not keeping it in his pants. I hope that this is not a true representation of how things work in SK and it is only for drama sake. I also dislike how they raise their hands so easily as if it’s natural to slap people. It happens a lot in Asian dramas. A part from that it’s great, I love the actress that plays So Ra she is doing a fab job and now she found her match.
I think the message was: politics means constant schemings, nothing is set in stone; nobody is safe, it’s a never ending circle. Lady Cho pretending to be good and her sly looks implies the plotting circle will begin anew.
There is still a tiny hope for a good ending. Lady Yoo still believes that the King can be a benevolent ruler and not a tyrant. She said that his majesty is noting like the Queen Dowager and she made a point in saying how he protected his staff and the bamboo village when he took poison. The King after so many years of being suppressed had a taste of absolute power and is not going to let go easily. Her move to oppose him is a big calculated risk. She is waiting for him to see sense; in the preview he has his back to her and she says you have to accept me and I am not your enemy. The Sarim are following her guidance and will do things by the law and not because the King say so thus reining him in. Councillor Park has faith in her and he sacrificed himself for his people on the promise that she will keep the King under control. Lee Tae judgement must be clouded as he is empowering the Minister of War that is a person that sides with whom he thinks will win at the time and has no loyalty; if it wasn’t for Councillor Park plan to switch the the regional army tokens to fake he will be finished. We shall see how the future of the 3 main protagonists will plan out.

I have different views but I respect your opinion. That’s what makes the whole thing interesting; if we all thought the same it would be a boring world.
1) The King as a crown prince spilled in front of the eunuchs, about his father's plan to bring sarim, leading…
The whole drama started because of PGW actions; he was the one that set the whole story in motion by not allowing the royal family to rule. He wanted to enforce his beliefs that were born by the trauma he suffered by the hands of Lee Tae uncle whom he deposed.
Lee Tae was shackled with no political support thus his plan. He didn’t want to be a puppet king like his father. His plan might have been less than honourable but considering the constraints surrounding him he didn’t have many options. Of course all plans aren’t perfect and Lady Park was the spanner in the works; but she was thrown into the equation by PGW and that lead to Lee Tae chosing the woman he truly loved and a different path.
This drama is all about power struggles; the palace is like a chess board and like a chess game many pawns are sacrificed to win. Power if not reined in can become a tyranny and history always repeats itself.
PGW started the whole story he might be the one that finishes it. Looking forward to eps 15 and 16 and your comments that are always welcome.
Can someone please enlighten me regarding Lee Tae's reasoning as to why he manipulated the Queen Dowager? I can't…
Councillor Park holds all the power in the palace and the Queen Dowager is his faithful ally and will do anything he asks of her. Lee Tae has never been allowed to rule. The idea was to plant fear in the Queen Dowager mind that PGW will abandon her in favour of Lady Park once she becomes the Queen, so she turned against him and thus dividing them. She lost the plot and went into a killing spree, executing most of PGW supporters in the court. Lee Tae wanted to get rid of her without appearing unfilial. Killing two birds with one stone
The fact that LT coerced one lady to be his lady, no matter his plans, and then abandoned her, will justify any…
Hi, coerced is the wrong word, to be coerced implies to be forced and to be unwilling; she was more than willing to marry the King and become the Queen. Deceived is more appropriate in this case. 😊 Everyone has their own opinion about Lady Cho; but it doesn't take away the fact the she is not a very nice person and she also needs to be punished. Her character will be revealed as the drama progresses.
The husband was an accomplice when team So Ra forced Ra El father to give up his company , he is the one who gave So Ra gangsters the company seal and then Ra El father was murdered. Her husband was an employee at her father’s company, so she resents him and married him not for love but for revenge and she is using him to get into the So Ra circle so she can execute her plan. As a reward for the contribution he gave in Ra El fathers company take over he was given a good job. As far as I know the little girl is not her real daughter; her husband was previously married and I think his previous wife died? Anyone correct me if I am wrong. I hope this helps.
So Ra is a murderous psycho I love the actress that plays her. I fear for Rael because even if she prepared to take these people down she never murdered anyone. She has a very vulnerable side that she only shows to SEP. I hope she can cope with these people they are cruel, ruthless and have no conscience. I hope she doesn’t get burned in the process.
it's good to have men crying, be fragile onscreen. I haven't seen it for a long time. Tell me are we going to…
Hi I don’t know how far you have gone with the drama, but notice that LT only cries in front of Lady Yoo, I think his tears are driven by guilt and love. The guilt comes from her family being executed because of his father lies to save him and the love that he can’t fulfil because of his situation in the palace. Things will change as the drama progress. He is not frail he is a wolf in sheep clothing’s.
It was hilarious when Pan Er was giggling at the shoes shop and GQ asked why and she said you must have been imposing fighting with Chi Yan with open crotch pants as a child. The way those two speak and look at each other feels very realistic.
For me eps 13 - 14 have been most interesting; the confrontation between PGW and the King posed interesting questions: The King stated: what gives PGW the right to determine how a king must be and how a country should be shaped and at the same time PGW asked: should a King be a King just because of his blood? We can also see how Lady Yoo and the King differ; the King sees the overall situation and makes sacrifices for the greater good; he has to look after the country as a whole not just individuals, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel guilty; I think the deaths of Ddong and the monk affected him greatly. Lady Yoo on the other hand cares very much about individuals and can inspire great loyalty, however, this is also her weakness; her life was put in jeopardy many times because of it. Because of the way they are, they compliment and balance each other enormously. They can make a great ruling couple and I think PGW has seen these qualities in Lady Yoo and therefore accepted her as the Queen even though she belongs to the opposite faction. Power is all about balance or it can easily turn into a tyranny.
I understand the significance of the Go (Weiqi) board set-up...the white Go pieces represented the enemies of…
Yes that is correct; as far as I understand it;all the green pieces on the go board represent how the officials stand in the palace court in front of the king. The white piece was Councillor Park. The idea was to plant fear into the Queen Dowager mind and turn them against each other. It worked; because of her unfounded fear of being abandoned in favour of Lady Park she got most of Councillor Park allies in the court assassinated. They have now been replaced with the officials of the Sarim faction of which Lady Yoo father was the leader.
She said that his majesty is noting like the Queen Dowager and she made a point in saying how he protected his staff and the bamboo village when he took poison.
