Thank you for your kind words, @Nelly! I wish I can comment on Song Luo but it has been a long time since I watched…
Don't worry about it..That was a fan asking too much as we often do LOL..Am just happy my favourite show's review went through the axe of the chopping master @Zogitt and survived with an 8.5 rate
"Found it!" That was my actual scream when I randomly scrolled through the review section and the MDL algorithm brought me to your review. So well said, I can't believe this was written five years ago, and yet it still resonates so deeply as I rewatch the show today.
Zhou Fang and Song Lin have such a natural connection and chemistry, it makes you wonder if they’re acting or just living out their real lives. (Yes, they did date in real life, shhhh, it caused quite a stir in the rumor mill!) Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve watched eight of Johnny Huang’s dramas, five of them with romance, and none come close to the chemistry he had here. Bright Eyes in the Dark came close, but the plot was so heavy there wasn’t enough space for those light, genuine interactions with Zhang Jingyi.
I completely agree with you, the moms were one of the main reasons I kept hitting "skip," even on a rewatch.
The second couple took up so much screen time, while our leads were buried in business meetings. I really appreciated the way you analyzed the second male lead, I'd never thought of it like that before. He was such a stark contrast to the ML that even their scenes together felt off. It honestly felt like Song Lin was his much older uncle! Their personalities and energy just didn’t align, which probably explains why the writer kept it strictly boss-employee rather than attempting a bromance.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Song Luoluo, the ML’s younger sister. She really was the heart of the drama in so many ways.
My very first Cdrama back in 2020..It holds a VERY VERY SPECIAL PLACE in my drama heart.. Hope more people will continue to watch it..I keep going back to it every year..
I wouldn’t recommend this one sorry. The FL has the stereotypical boring hardworking/plucky poor girl personality.…
Wow..the way I have been busy recommending it..I loved it..I have seen bad FL and I think she did a good job..she wasn't a pushover like cdrma FLs I don't know which specific scene you are referring to..but for me 10/10
Surprised how many people are loving this. Was enjoying it until that stupid twist. So sick of these types of…
That was the only way he could convince Lin Meiya that they have to break up.. according to his tiny wisdom, when Li Dong asked him why her friend? He said cos it's how she can be "convinced" To be honest I don't know what else I could have done in his place but maybe not get married to start with..That arch was just too painful.. Nevertheless I do think everyone advising not to tell her was not necessary but that's what dramas are made of 😆

I hate few things more than the "I know what's best for you therefore I'm gonna keep this a secret" trope
