It's been a good while since I hated a villain as much as I hate the queen (which of course means the actress is doing her job right). Anyway, I'm so looking forward to the day when she finally gets her comeuppance.
Also, what really sucks is that when she's done sh-- like this, the king often seems aware of it, but he keeps letting her get away with it, without any consequences whatsoever. Like, why are you letting her cause all this chaos? Do something!
I'm really disappointed with what they did with Hyun Min's character. Episode 13 basically threw Everything out…
Yes, well said! What they've done with Hyun Min is absolutely insane. He started out as such an interesting character, and I couldn't wait to see how he would develop. They had plenty to work with: abandonment issues, horrible mother, dead father, dead best friend... and Hye Ji (sigh). I was really excited to see what they would do with all this. And... this is it? This is all they could come up with? This is the best they could do? That's so bad I can't even... agh! Hate it.
Sad to think about how much I liked it in the beginning. I have absolutely no desire to continue watch the new…
Tell me about it. I used to look forward to this drama all week, and I would rewatch the other episodes in between because the waiting was driving me nuts. Damn, I loved those early episodes. But then in the second half all that fluffy fun was suddenly just all but gone. It's gonna take a while for me to get over my disappointment.
That's more like it, episode 2 worked way better for me. If it keeps up like this, this could be awesome. Also, I'm infinitely grateful to the stylist that dressed Ji Chang Wook in a leather jacket. When I see a hot guy in a black leather jacket it does things to me.
Not sure how I feel about it yet. I really want to like it, but... eeeh. The style is a bit overly dramatic, sometimes so that it becomes unintentionally funny. And all that choir music is already getting on my nerves. The fight scenes are not as good as I'd hoped. The one in the subway made me dizzy. But I liked the one at the end of the episode where Ji Chang Wook took out those guards one by one, that was badass and the kind of thing I want to see. I'll hang on for a couple more episodes and see if it improves once the story gets going. On to episode 2!
Ps. Sparkly blue face masks?!
If hadn't been for the great casting, I probably would have passed on this. But I'm so glad I gave it a chance, because it's so sweet and so much fun! Seo In Guk and Nam Ji Hyun are absolutely adorable together! The story works so much better than I would have guessed, the pacing is good and the characters are fun and interesting. Looking forward to the next episodes!
SO MUCH TO BE RESOLVED SO LITTLE TIME honestly Hye Ji is a pain in the butt. I mean I can tolerate the stepmother…
Yeah, I'd have to agree. This drama was supposed to be about Ha Won and bringing the boys together as a family, but they wasted so much time on Hye Ji. It's a real shame. Like, I've enjoyed this drama a lot - at least for the first half - but it could be so much more than what it is.
at first i really wanted to ship ha won to hyun min but then after he confessed he realized that he really loves…
See, I don't think Hyun Min was toying with Ha Won, I think he was just confused about his feelings. He's spent so much time dating women he didn't feel anything at all for and at the same time being in denial about his feelings for Hye Ji, but Ha Won obviously made him feel something. He was even dreaming about her. It just wasn't as deep he he thought it was, and he only realized this - along with how he still feels about Hye Ji - after Ha Won rejected him. That's how I saw it, anyway.
Hyun Min should be with someone who makes him light up the way he does with Ha Won. Hye Ji just sucks the life out of him. Like she does with everything else.
Dramabeans posted the recap for episode 9. There are some excellent comments at the bottom, especially those about Hye Ji. I really recommend reading it
After last week's weak episodes, I'm kinda nervous about seeing the coming episodes this week. I'm worried the show peaked in episode 8, and it's all gonna be downhill from here. And it's a shame, because I was looking forward to this drama ever since I heard about it and the cast they had chosen. And it turned out to be everything I had hoped for: bubbly, pretty, silly and fun escapism. Pure visual comfort food. But a lot of that fun mood was absent last week, too much time spent on Hye Ji instead of our Cinderella, and the story seemed to be slowing down when it should be moving forward. Well... we'll see I guess. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised come friday, but with Hye Ji moving in to Sky House, I don't know...
It's just really hard for me to understand why this drama seems to expect so much sympathy for Hye Ji. Ha Won praised her devotion to Hyun Min. Are you kidding me? That devotion looks a lot like stalking to me. And she because Ji Woon is so protective of Hye Ji, she keeps using him to fight all her battles and even to make Hyun Min jealous. And she's still presented like this poor, tragic figure we're supposed to feel sorry for.
But why? Why should I feel anything for her at all? Why, drama, why? Explain it to me like I'm a five year old.
