No one up to that very second had spoken or was ever concerned with Taiga and his future, and it made him stop in his tracks. He was on the way to 'The Joker' where he is fated to be Kaworu, but turned towards Manami and took small steps towards her with hesitation as Taiga.
He says after she writes his name: “looks like a great name”, showing how detached he is from his real self, but it was done out of necessity, for him to become Kaworu. The scene is also unsettling when you think how lonely he might have been leading his life without being able to write even his own name. No one, absolutely no one had paid attention or demanded his real-self or self-growth from him. Until now..😭
At the end of the episode, the last word uttered by Kaworu was also: 「Korekara = From Now On」 While crumpling his and her name and erasing what that word meant earlier. He is now with sinister intentions. Kaoru is reigning once again.
Some Japanese fans are theorizing, since Kawol was shown to speak Korean with the tteokbokki stand owner in episode 1, he could move to Korea since you could probably learn Hangul in like a week. And every single one's motivation could be turned against Kawol & Manami and all are potential threat to their love. This is truly an us against the world kind of romance.
