LOL what’s with this comment section? I didn’t know the old comments were all fun😂 People are too obsessed…
Yes to all you've written! this is the best of rom-com+fantasy genre. I am def gonna check his other work thanks.. he's adorbs 😍
Me too, my feeling matter more than any technical thing... for me what I feel about the characters are more important and I will watch even the most awful drama and drop the most famous dramas if the characters don't resonate and if I am not invested, and I don't normally nitpick things unless they get on my nerves (like the weirdo without a backstory in this drama like why are you here lolol) but overall I am here to enjoy dramas, not to compare and find faults, ratings, that sounds like a very tiring way to live. I agree, LR did have its clichés but the directing was amazing and the actors were so sincere delivering their characters that it was like it was like there was no other way to exist in this drama-verse.. not once I cringed. It's one of the reasons why I LOVED this drama. Every character's intentions were so clear. .aww I miss them and their world already.🥹
I find only Asian dramas these days cater to female gaze.. I mean every women would like a SunJae *swoons* lol, No Gain, No Love is next on my list, can't wait to find time to binge.. sleepless nights it is😎
Move on then... NOT EVERYONE WILL SHARE THE SAME OPINION AS YOU! AND ONCE AGAIN ALL YA'LL CAN DO IS NAG NAG NAG…
To point out discrepancies with people's opinions as time goes on is also a form of opinion,,, so as you said "This site is for ALL OPINIONS! Whether you like it or not" soo... 🤷♀️no need to yell at another person for their opinion.
Move on then... NOT EVERYONE WILL SHARE THE SAME OPINION AS YOU! AND ONCE AGAIN ALL YA'LL CAN DO IS NAG NAG NAG…
People be still trying to censor other people's mind's honest reactions, opinions and actions while yelling "This site is for ALL OPINIONS! Whether you like it or not." and contradict themselves in their mission😂💀
This drama was a 10 overall, but wish it had a “Final Destination” like lore, not one weirdo human after them, then it would’ve been like near PERFECTION.
Neither of those drama made half the nose this one made esp in south korea. Weightlifting fairy was a flop and…
I think international viewers really don't consider what get's popular in Korea, I personally trust what local taste says.. local drama viewers wouldn't even consider to compare true beauty, weightlifting fairy to this drama, mainly because acting was basic lol
Plus BWS/Sungjae stardom was like a phenomenon there, even big personalities like Yoo Jae Suk was impressed and was talking about him everywhere.
LOL what’s with this comment section? I didn’t know the old comments were all fun😂 People are too obsessed…
I normally binge watch dramas as I am impatient but wish I watched it while it aired damn... I just completed it, like you I was all giggles cuz they be too damn cute. I enjoyed everything throughly, and I really believe this is the best this genre can offer period, so I don't understand the weird hate lol
The directing was amazing and all the actors were so damn sincere with their characters and those two factors truly saved the weaker writing spots and the OST is superb as well. And Korea got a new star and BWS got stardom, very deserving as he is a great actor.
My only complaint was the random guy after them, I was thinking: wow this guy survived until last epi.. I rly hate this guy but hey, killers are dime a dozen in kdrama world, like their own truck-kun, always after you to steal your life,, and BAM this drama was like, hey random killer meet truck-kun💀 I was loling hard🤣
Woah... this comments section has changed DRASTICALLY since LR first aired, lmao. Went from: 🥰🧚♀️✨🌼To:…
LOL what’s with this comment section? I didn’t know the old comments were all fun😂 People are too obsessed with ratings on this site, looking if they align with your own rating, seriously someone’s different opinion doesn’t invalidate your own, so relax people, touch some grass, go enjoy another drama rather than wasting time here arguing about some abstract rating💀
I am currently on Epi 11 and, this is 10/10 for its genre. Kim Hye-yoon’s acting as always impeccable and she carried the drama(living up to her fan name “Carry Sun Jae and Run” heh😜) this is the first time I’ve seen BWS and he is just perfect for sunjae and really matched up to her acting. They make the cutest couple and the chemistry is sparkling, storyline has its weaknesses but directing really saves it.
No wonder this was really popular in Korea and BWS became a breakout star.
I'm pretty new to Japanese culture and mannerisms, so I just wanna see if this thing I noticed is typical of Japanese…
I never thought about it but it's pretty true that Japan and Korea have completely different mannerisms lol thanks it's fun to think about it. Being [素直(sunao) honest; frank; upfront (about one's feelings)], is a quality that is lauded to have as a characteristic in Japan and is a compliment to say 素直だね (sunao da-ne) "you're honest!"
But also I think being manly and to downplay one's pain is expected more from men in Korean or western society, compared to Japan so maybe that's why as well. Or it could simply be Jungo is written to be frank with Hong to showcase that she made him more open, as he says in a scene that his ex said he tend to be もどかしい(modokashii) "frustrating" and tend to give silent treatment. I think we can know more about this when we see Jungo with Kanna in future epis.
Just like English language is made up of like 30% French, both countries borrowed heavily from China in the past,…
Yes you are absolutely correct! If we go to the why the pronunciation is different for the same characters, it maybe simply because just like the word “literature” is Latin/French(littérature) but we pronounce it different in English and Germans say “Literatur” because each language natives don’t have the phonemes(distinct units of sound in a specified language) to copy it exactly or it’s being 100s of years since we borrowed it and we added our own flair meanwhile lol.
So we can imagine why it’s different for both Korea and Japan as well, plus they borrowed from Cantonese (merchandisers) as well, so one country might borrow pronunciation from Mandarin Chinese and the other country from Cantonese speakers. Another thing is both languages kept their original words and sometimes have Chinese character pronunciations as synonyms, for example you might notice in kdramas that 1, 2, 3 is pronounced different in different situation, il 일 , i 이, sam 삼 being the Sino-korean number pronunciation and Hana 하나, dul 둘, set 셋 is the original Korean. So Japan and Korea have 2 number systems/pronunciation because of borrowing from China … and it goes on and on💀
Our characters in this drama are literature nerds (just like me😂) so we can understand why they got excited in how similar their languages are and call each other from their own language and found that it’s respectful to do so. Also you could say they are doing it to familiarize each other’s differences and dig deep to find the similarities as way to cope with their differences, which can be interpreted as sad too. The scene where Jungo was a bit mad because Hong took up the offer in Kyoto is another scene where their cultural differences aren’t overcome, gimme moar angst I am readyy😌🤧
I've already watched the first two episodes, but I'd like to understand better why Jungo was used to call his…
Just like English language is made up of like 30% French, both countries borrowed heavily from China in the past, that includes the writing system which is Chinese characters = kanji in Japanese and Hanja in Korean, but Korea abandoned Hanja in everyday use and uses Hangul, Japan still uses around 2000+ Chinese characters everyday, Korea uses fewer hanja's in more formal things eg birth certificates.
Names in Korea still pretty much are derived from Chinese characters (not all). So both Jungo and Hong were reading the Chinese characters in their own language/ pronunciation and nicknamed each other of that pronunciation. How romantic😍
beni / hong = 紅 means deep red; crimson JunGo / yun-oh = 潤吾 - I dunno it can mean lotta things like "charming from within" lol which I agree😂 (I don't know about the original Chinese character meaning only the Japanese, anyone who knows Chinese can chime in lol)
Finally watched it, and wow the cinematography is so damn amazing, like I made some scenes my MacBook wallpaper that pretty lol. The acting is on point, the angst is bubbling and their college days make you giggle like a 4 year old, I mean what else do you want from a drama, perfect start.
Se-young was amazing with her Japanese, serious props to her, can't believe she didn't speak it before her enunciation is almost perfect, I watched Yoo-quiz and she said she had to take classes for this drama and it really shows her hard-work, just love herrr.
Chemistry, I wasn't feeling from Kentaro's side, he be awkward and it showed here and there... together I can say they are one of the best looking couples I've seen in while in dramaland, and the vibe they give off are just so damn UWU😍 ahaha yes that's how I am gonna describe cuz I have no words😂
Special mention on Kentaro's dimples they make us liveee, whenever he breaks into a smile I am always like "WUT is he doing?"😳😂, I really love watching him in emotional scenes, his eyes speak. This character also gives the feels he gave in "The Last 10 Years" so can't wait for moarr
Hahah I also kind of ship them off screen too, just because they kept being so considerate to each other lol.…
I have never shipped off-screen but here I am lol these 2 are my favs from both countries and they are known for being really considerate and easy-going off-screen.. and international romances are my fav so let me be delulu for a sec😂 Korean comments on YT are the same as us and also saying them to get married after all this is said and done🥰
Acchuallyy 🧐 I am waiting for the movie to release so I'll binge the whole thing then lolol but seriously we need a proper ベタすぎる(cliche ridden) romcom.. and just imagine it being with Imada Mio😳
OMG these two can get married for all I care🤧 I absolutely love how they switch languages for each other and try their best to put words in each others languages. Kentarou pronouncing ice coffee in Korean accent is adorable cz in Japanese it's aisu koーhii..arrgh so cute.. it's the small things and the chemistry is chemistrying🥰
It took me 2 years to find the mood and bring myself to watch Silent and now I wonder how long this will take😩 Please Meme do a romcom next and stop crying and making us cry 😅 Seriously his crying scenes are one of the best I've seen a male actor do.
