Thinking about rewatching this. The romance in this asadora is just top tier.

Finally started and I'm about halfway through. And it's so good! A definite recommendation from me and I can't wait to write my full review.

It's now available! And this is very nice drama I think!
Thank you :) my years of patience have finally been awarded

i just read your review, and it's a great one, Macy! It's unique to see an unambitious heroine in a slice-of-life…
Hi, friend! I wanted to let you know that Jun-chan is now available on drama-otaku so you don't have to worry about torrents with this one :)
On Jun-chan no Ouen-ka Aug 2, 2025
This asadora is now available to DL on drama-otaku if you have an account there. I recommend this asadora, though it's not perfect. The heroine and the simple story has a surprising impact. I will be more likely to rewatch this asadora now that it's on DO. I also highly recommend DO. The registration process was somewhat stressful, but it's totally worth it. It's so easy to DL J-dramas and subtitles from there. Cannot recommend it enough actually!

The official poster is too cute! SO excited for this one. I chatted with a subber who said that they might sub this asadora. I really hope that they are able to :)

Title Anpan
This is so brutal, WW2 is very graphic here. Aren't asadoras meant for family viewing? I wouldn't let my kid watch…
Based on this comment I'm so curious to start Anpan now! Yes, asadoras are for family viewing and primarily aimed at women, but I don't feel that any of them have ever held back for WW2 scenes. I did think the war scenes in Yell were particularly brutal though. That's the only asadora I've seen that actually takes the audience to the war front. By the way, I watched a lot of war movies as a child, but I guess that's up to each parent to decide.
Macy Aug 2, 2025
List is up to date as of August 2, 2025. Since my asadora viewing has slowed, I will update this list less frequently though I will still try to every couple of months.

*Added notes to Chimudondon and Fight to say when they were last updated. Still hoping that the subbers return to these eventually!
*Jun-chan is now available to download on drama-otaku! I recommend this older gem. It's not perfect, but I really liked it :)

I will be starting Futarikko soon :) which is the latest asadora to have subtitles released. Note: some eps are missing subtitles since it's a transcription project. And then I'll start Anpan since the subber seems to be working on it consistently. So grateful to have a current asadora being subtitled!

Edit: Also, I've chatted with another subber who hopes to sub the next asadora Bakebake in the future. Crossing my fingers that they are able to!

Person Nagano Mei
One of Japan’s most promising actresses and she ruined her career for Kei Tanaka of all men??

So is this an Asadora? It sounds like one but has no tag yet.
Yes, I believe it’s the next one after Bakebake.

Title Omusubi
I watched Welkame and it's was OK. This one, though, I had to drop it. It was unwatchable.
I read that a lot of people disliked the gal aspect. I would still watch it if it got subs, but thanks for the warning!

With Welkame, I really disliked the romance part and Kana Kurashina was the only thing I liked about it

Damn, I thought Welkame was pretty bad. That must mean this one is really bad.

When checking on the list on upcoming Asadoras i saw this one. Hoping it gets subbed aswell. Massan is one of…
I’m thinking it will end before ww2 too since the couple this is based on both died before it. I love the ww2 stories but it’s nice to get an asadora that doesn’t deal with it every once in a while.

Title Hiyokko
She is ambitious in her own way, she wants to find her dad and send enough money home. She wants her family to…
Agree, I think that’s why this didn’t feel that different from other asadoras, but all the comments I’ve read make it out to be some big difference.

Title Hiyokko 2
The only asadora special/spin-off/sequel worth watching. The others I've watched are either filler or frustrating.

My 36th asadora to watch and it quickly became one of my favorites. I didn't mind the non-ambitious heroine because I just really enjoyed the slice-of-life vibe.

not only this one, asadora has serious SUBs problem
I think it depends on the writer. Last year’s Tora ni Tsubasa has a lot of depth but the next one Omusubi not so much (though I admit I only saw clips of that one).

not only this one, asadora has serious SUBs problem
Actually there’s 37 asadoras with subs and a few in progress. Yes, there’s a problem with people dropping asadoras out of nowhere but there’s a lot less of that lately.

All in all, we’re very lucky to have the subs we do have. I’m hopeful that Teruteru Kazoku will receive subs, but it’s less likely since there’s no JP subs and just low quality DVD rips.

I’m always so happy when I see him in an asadora. I wish I could watch the Chiritotechin special too.
