LR-SQR's relationship dynamic in the past was 2 sad miserable people found each other and filled each other voids. LR obviously had/has deep feeling for him but at the same time she also realised that her feeling for him not necessarily real love since SQR went out of the way to pleased her because he needed her in his past life. She mentioned before that Pei is the only worthy opponent in WeiQi because he was real competitive and won't simply let her won unlike SQR, he also grew peonies for her during winter despite never knew that her fav flower is buttercup, cooked for her etc etc. In some ways, SQR was like a slave. But still 17 years of companionship isn't something easily throw away.

While Pei despite being a commoner whose status is lower than her never subjected himself to her. He fought her tooth and nail to achieved his goals. In one eps I forgot which one, Pei reminded LR that you told me that among people like you and SQR (maybe she meant the noble) there will be never a true love only interest. Pei is confident that LR always loves him hence he is willing to wait 10-30 years. Somehow he understand LR more than herself.

Tbh, in a way SQR isn't a villain, at least for now. He just does what he think is right for LR in his POV as the noble in that kingdom. LR was sided with the noble completely in her past life so SQR is trying to continue that legacy. He didn't know that LR is a reborn and doesn't want to walk the same path. The changes in the present LR he attributed to Pei. But next eps he will find out the truth.

Saw a spoiler, during the confrontation about “the truth” with 7 darts assassin SQR found out that LR is a reborn hence the official trailer has him wondering if Pei is the same.

MTJY's styling is amazing. The Gong Bros came with different yummy flavors according to your taste....😄 I love GJM's works, it's such a feast for the eyes. I won't miss out his Mystic something for sure. Tbh, in MJTY the main couple is kinda overshadowed by the second couple solely because the latter story line was sexier.

I can't recalled SQR in TTEOTM at all. Water Deity yes but the face nope. I didn't watch LYF too, too tragic for me beside I had so many of YZ's works that I quite bored of her.

I saw ZLH for the first time in Cang Lan Jue then MJTY, I skipped Kunning Palace because of TTEOTM. TTJ and SuSu were so fresh in my mind that I can't bear to see BL with ZLH despite loving ZLH....😩

ZLH improves A LOT in this drama. He is always a decent actor to begin with, he is one of the rare ones who can emote. But Pei suits him very well. Every time he delivers his speech about his feelings, I felt the sucker punch in my guts. He is a great kisser too 😂 This is the first time I saw a ML pried open FL's lips with his own lips, in Cdrama.....😎 This boy in confidence in doing steamy scene.

That's the usual norms during ancient Chinese. The noble/aristocrat/rich men got first wife from the top family where they can give and take. The concubines can be the ones the men really love OR for play things. While princesses were used as "gifts" for the stronger nation and queens for the weaker nations. Some lesser princes also ended up like some princess.

I think Su doesn't know that LR is a reborn. He recited that poem during her wedding with the intention to woes her in advance because he knew she loved it in the past. If he knew LR is a reborn he will just confronted her and told her to her face how Pei is bad for her blablabla.... He suspects Pei now because he sees how their relationship is getting better at this point while in the past at the same timeline they had broken down (also how Pei cock-blocked him in that umbrella scene) So in his grande mind Pei is using his past knowledge to keeps LR while LR is clueless.

A bit dull but don't forget that this couple is an old married couple not a couple in pull and push of courtship relationship so I think this bit of dullness suits the story line perfectly.

SRH said that knowledge was told to him by someone else and we know who that someone is. That particular someone had live with both Pei and LR for more than 10 years, he knew them well just like Pei knew him well, while LR not so much since she looked at him with rose tinted glasses. The statement of they are not suitable for each other is correct for their past life but not for their present and future self, I agreed with you.

Starting eps 20 but have to pause and run here after the scene in the morning court. This is the only drama where I see a blatant nepotism fully display proudly among the court officials. The Princess had fully investigated the corrupt officials with all of the strong evidences and testimony blahblahyadaayadee so they should be punish according to the laws, aren't they?? Just like The Qins when everyone insisted they were guilty BUT NOOOOOOO!! all the officials are protesting when Emperor decided to punish them!! What the heck!!

IMHO, by today standard the past PWX was wearing a green hat for a full 17 years....I didn't fully read the book though I only give my opinion based on the drama.

Talking about eunuch in dramas, if you read the book or watch a drama Unchained Love there were many scenes of a chief eunuch( but actually faked one) washing his hands every single time AFTER his meeting with the Dowager. The book explained that he actually servicing the Dowager with his fingers. In some palace dramas, certain eunuch do got awarded a wife which is I don't know HOW?

But in this case, PWX never thought of LR-SRQ relationship as real cheating solely because him is an eunuch. While LR is definitely pissed off big time when she thought PWX is cheating emotionally with ZCC. I have to say either the author overlooked this part or the author just want to differential the POV of man and woman in this matter.

Tbh, I don't feel his action to gives up power is sweet?? It's a waste of talent to let PWX sitting at home. The man is question is an eunuch and during olden days there was no such thing as emotionally cheating. So in their minds, there was no cheating involved because that man was not able to perform.

I think PWX is just weary and tired from pursuing power for 20 years and now he is only want to have his own family.

She was amazing in Reset too
