There are things ppl hate that I like. If I comment, I just say my opinion on why I like it. I don't say "well maybe you don't like complex plotting, or multidimensional characters, etc".
For the record, I do respect and like other cultures. I've seen beautiful garments from all cultures. But her character didn't reflect the culture who would wear those clothes. Which is actually insulting since there was nothing added to her character to give her that cultural background to justify her wearing those garments. That's why it came off as wardrobe just wanting her to look pixie -like. Using those clothes as costumes.

You made an judgement call about me because you didn't like my opinion about something. You could have simply said the clothes are, blah, blah, cultural, blah and left it at that. You didn't have to say "but maybe you don't appreciate different cultures, so you didn't like them".
That was not only uncalled for but you took what could have been a teachable moment and turned it into a personal jab. You don't know anything about me, so why even say that? I bet you didn't think I was going to call you out of that. Now you're sitting here trying to defend the indefensible.
Her character was boring to me and her clothes reflected that based on her personality. Was it even cultural for her as in Tibetan, etc, or just wardrobe because they wanted to make her look different from the other characters? Because that's how it comes off. On another character that was more interesting to me, I might have had a different viewpoint. You can freely disagree with me, I don't care.
I shall be the bigger person and walk away. I hope you have a lovely day.

Oh stop it. You do not have to personally insult me because I didn't like something in a TV series. Personal attacks don't make you look better.
Besides, the main reason they dressed her like that doesn't come off as cultural but mythical and innocent since she was supposed to be magical in some way. I said what I said.
The plot gets stupid when they have the opportunity to kill the villains, but won't. If they were willing to burn the house down and even die, why not burn it down once the villains took over? That would get rid of all of your trouble.
The best storytelling is not giving your heroes a chance to pass up key opportunities like getting rid of the main villains .
I am with you on the 1. It is so unnecessary but fits in their Confucian / Taoist ideals of fated connection (as…
I've seen the ones you've mentioned and I did enjoy them. I look for the ones with badass FL when the blurb promises me that. This one promised that, but the FL didn't measure up.
Like, they try to act tough, but won't fight back or allow themselves to be manipulated if someone uses a person or object against them.
I saw a short drama where the family tried to force a woman to marry someone she didn't like And attempted to use her grandmother's house as leverage. Do you know what she did? She burned that house to the ground rather than allow her evil family to manipulate her with it. That's the kind of attitude I love.
On ep. 11 and so far, I'm enjoying it. I will say that a pet peeve of mine is when someone claims they don't need help, but always need help.
She said she doesn't believe in "princes saving princesses. That she saves herself" but the whole point of her resurrection is because she failed to do that. Also, all of her current schemes revolve around her relying on a man stepping in to save her. She'll turn on damsel in distress mode fast as hell when she sees the opportunity. So, there's that.
You ever notice how it's never a point to tell someone the truth about what's really happening? The ML or even FL will rather the other person hate them and not trust them--all the while hoping the person will forgive them, trust them and love them. But they REFUSE to tell the truth. And when asked about why not-usually by their right hand or best friend, they'll say some stupid shit like "What's the point?" or "I'd rather they hate me than be hurt". As if that person isn't already suffering because they don't know what to believe.
this had potential and then just didnt get there.ML was good, FL was just ok (she is not my favorite and she needs…
Okay, read your post and I'm prepared. I can already tell the FL is a moron masquerading as a genius. Five years of planning and I'm trying to figure out what did all of that planning intel? Does she have any fighting skills? I'm guess from your review, she doesn't have any investigating skills or common sense deductions.
I do hate the rage only plots. You can have rage, but also have intelligence and patience otherwise don't try to sell me on the premise that character is smart.
From the 1st ep, I can tell that she will rely solely on seduction and play those deductions games and then when someone takes the bait, she panics. You see that a lot. Stop playing those games if you aren't willing to use your body as a weapon and trap.
As for the ML, I'll have to see about him. I just from what she's seen of his actions, her revenge is justified.
This looks like some toxic mess and that is what I assigned up for. From ep. 1.. I must say some ppl put in a LOT of effort for their revenge. Could have just become a shadow assassin. Why the hell bother with getting a job at the Flower House, learn how to dance, hope you catch the right person's eye and then hope they bring you into their home.
Just break into their home and slit a throat while they're asleep. Only training you'll need is martial arts. They'll be going through all of that other nonsense and don't even bother to learn ass kicking techniques. But, I'll see where this is going.
I would have left the first chance I got. She actually accepted his place as a maid out of love. I won't blame her if this series doesn't have a HEA, it shouldn't if she has conviction.
This chick is a terrible writer. Lol she doesn't do her own. Research at all. If it weren't for the ML, I wonder what she would do. Still, this is a fun little short series. I'm enjoying it.
FL met her match with main villain. That's because she thinks she smarter than all of the characters.
Imma need China to do two things for me, cause I'm really really sick of this.
1. Stop with the childhood connection. Not EVERY couple needs to have a childhood past.
2. Make FL bark equal to their bites. Sick of these women who talk tough, but cower, needing to be rescued. Not bold or smart enough when the character isn't their love interest. They get their wrist grabbed or maid threatened and they fold like cheap Temu lawn chairs. Give me Boss Chicks, if you will. Women who not only write checks, but their fists and feet can cash them.
I actually prefer when someone asks you why you don't like them or whatever, that ppl are straightforward. instead of saying "We just need to go our separate ways and have nothing more to do with each other." Say "i broke up with your cheating ass because I caught you with another woman." Or whatever the reason is for why you wanted to part ways. This gives the other person to address the accusation and clear up misunderstandings if there are any. It gives the other person and yourself the decency of being honest. and it shows that you are fearless and stand your ground.
By that same token, tell ppl the truth when they're life is in danger, that way, you shouldn't have to worry about them being troublesome just because they think you want to control them when all you want to do is protect them.
But that requires having adult conversations and mature writing.
1. The brother thought he was staring at the mailbox as if he had hid a bomb or something in it. He paused because…
Yeah, I couldn't help but laugh thinking about the whole "smell" aspect. It reminded me of Twilight. And I was like " girl, you've got to change your perfume, soap or shampoo. Something. You have two crazy men trying to claim you over your scent. " 😂
