Two tropes I hate the most. Amnesia and Hidden Identity. Why are these in almost every cdrama? That and childhood past connections. Ugh, I hope this drama does something redeeming for those two tropes because I just feel like they're used excessively by lazy writers in order to create drama.
If you haven't seen it already, Rise of Her Lady Physician (2025) alo has a stong FL and supportive ML. But the…
Yeah, I've seen that one. I enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was I felt too much time was spent watching her run her business and I felt like they dragged the romance "will they won't they" out too long. It began to get frustrating.. 😂. I've watched so many of these C and K drama shows. I really loved Under the Queens Umbrella that has a smart and cunning FL who was empress.
This situation with Xiu o is all on the MLs because he's doing far too much placating. He won't set boundaries and is allowing this woman to constantly bring up their past instead of telling her she is being inappropriate.
Then he just want sot roll and squint his beady eyes instead of opening his mouth and putting his foot down. He must want her to be jealous. He couldn't even tolerate hearing about the men in her sect, yet he doesn't do what he needs to do about the very physical problem in his life.
And I'm going to need the maid to start reporting things she sees and stop acting like it's all trivial.
They are so busy trying to get Grandma to believe them when they can just kill this dude. 😂 I mean, all this waiting around for him to mess up. All they need to do is get his right hand man to confess.
And neither one of these idiots can stop slipping up their tongues. Why didn't they just leave when she showed up with those snacks to spy?
I'm sure the man's life that is hanging in the balance can wait while she concerns herself with her modesty. Perfect match. 😂
And for some reason, the whole reason why went to the barracks was to speak to the general to tell him about the mistake in brides. But, I guess she changed her mind because she's keeping with the fake identity, wasting ppl's time looking for a brother that doesn't exist.
I knew the one pretending to be a man was going to be the FL who annoyed me. Cause now it's like... What is your goal because she's now trying to avoid the general.
And the other one needs to learn how to read and write at the very least and learn how to shut her mouth before she let it write checks her a$$ can't cash.

Thank you. I'll add it. I just did a double watch of Story of Yanxi Palace and Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, so watching strong FL is bringing me joy.
In the Name of Loyalty also has a strong FL. I also liked The Legend of the Female General.
I'm only 6 eps in and already wishing I had waited until it was done so that I could binge it. I'm also wishing it was longer because I just want more of the FL. Her attitude is what I crave in these shows.
The way she delightfully enjoys how everyone ends up fighting with each other everytime they try to set her up…
Yeah, I agree this one could have been longer to stretch its legs. The FL is my kind of gal. Fearless, ruthless. She won't start it but she'll finish it. I love when the drama has a truly cunning FL whose actions prove it and not just the other characters telling us so.
TBH FL is pissing me off because 17 eps in, she STILL hasn't told the ML who she really is. She can see this man is tormented by the death of the woman he loved and yet she lets her friends know the truth but not him.
Wouldn't she think it would relieve him a great deal to know that she didn't die? I bet if the rolls were reversed, she'd want to know the truth.
Just started this one. On ep. 2 and going off the premise, I'm wondering how intelligent the FL is if she thinks a man who wanted to marry her, who and swords to save a snake she needed to help her master was someone who would kill her. What purpose would her death offer him first off? Why go through all the trouble to get her to marry him if his goal was to kill her? For her to be someone in the beginning to looked outside of the box, I'm wondering how the premise tells me she thinks he's the killer.
I'm already side eyeing because she's holding a grudge against him from when they were both kids and instead of telling him why she is upset, she just pushes him away over and over.
But I'll see where this series takes me.
Update for Ep. 3.... Still questioning her deduction skills because she just listened to a bunch of gossip from the crowd, some of directly about her that she knows isn't true, but she thinks the rest of the about the ML gossip is.
If he just needed a wedding to rise to power, any ol chick could do. Why would he go out of his way to marry her when he could have just married a maid to gain the same purpose. If he's that ruthless and power hungry, than who the hell is she that he would put so much effort into having just to die for his cause. It's not like ppl will care about her after she's gone because she wasn't well liked anyway and "lowly" according to them.
I'm on ep. 3, but I hope she starts putting some more thought into this because it will annoy me if I'm 20 eps in and she's still not trusting him.
Ep. 4. I find it interesting that she's more dedicated to finding justice for the woman who snatched her face, and her man and tried to kill her than she is searching for the ppl who killed her family. I mean, where was this "go get em" personality before?
Why is it when two people have a double identity and they are revealed to each other, why is it always the woman with the attitude like the man was the only one lying about who he was? Ma'am, you were lying too! You don't have a soapbox to stand on in this situation. Stop it. Get over yourself. i think writers do this to create drama, but it just makes me annoyed with the hypocrisy of the FL.
And because he decided to hold on to secrets that didn't need to be kept because his life depended on it, now he has all the problems. Keeping secrets from the person you want to love and get love back is always stupid in these situations. In this instance, she has every right to be mad because he had the opportunity and kept mums the word and allowed other ppl to tell his story.
Side eye on how easy people can enter the general’s home to commit crimes? No one was guarding the mother? The…
It is so easy. The palace too. I laughed when I see all of those guards, but they don't bother looking left or right or behind them. They just stare in the direction they stand and wonder why someone has slipped up from behind to slit their throats.
Focus on each cases villains or have one or two big villains like other 2 seasons?
This one seems to be building up to a big villain. And some of the cases go as long as 4 episodes. His costumes have been wild to goofy so before the end of the season, I'm hoping to see him take the persona of a well dressed man. But it has been interesting to see just how goofy he'll look while undercover.
Okay, I'm going in, starting ep. 1

The other MLs story is what's carrying this series. I think Grandma peeps a lot of the scheming.
And for some reason, the whole reason why went to the barracks was to speak to the general to tell him about the mistake in brides. But, I guess she changed her mind because she's keeping with the fake identity, wasting ppl's time looking for a brother that doesn't exist.
