Is it just me—or is anyone else weirded out that the K-drama Tempest (which centers around a high-profile political…
Not weird at all. there are even plotlines of political ppl faking assassinations. Rich and powerful ppl getting assassinated for various reasons has happened in stories since the beginning of storytelling.
I will never understand it when writers choose this sort of misunderstanding. It’s so obvious and irrational.…
It's the kind of misunderstanding trope I hate. it's lazy, lacks creativity and used just to create cheap drama. but at the cost of the story and characters. because the viewers/readers get frustrated with everything due to the fact that the characters are stupid. a simple conversation solves it. and they always wait until the worst happens to have that conversation. And once it's done, you wonder why they didn't bother to talk like adults in the first place.
In these types of dramas, why are they ALWAYS shocked when the person who is always framing them and scheming against them... does it again? Well, you keep them around, they still haven't gotten their way, what the hell do you expect?
I'm 29 episodes in and I'll come back to edit once I've finished. But after Lu Zhen gains a Lady Official position,…
it's bad because even though ppl have warned her and told her to be more cautious, she isn't. she trusts everyone she meets, doesn't second guess anyone and didn't tell her man that Ah Bi isn't her friend, so now he doesn't know to suspect her. she's troublesome. it's not a trap she hasn't fallen for. I'm trying to see what qualities she has to be the Female Prime Minister because that position is one where she'll have to contend with the male ministers of the court and she can't even defend herself at all right now. I'm on ep. 40 and I'm not impressed. she's either bailed out by luck or a man but never with her wits.
I'm on ep. 36 and the ML is the only one fighting for the relationship. FL has more patience for ppl who've tried to kill her than for him.
what I find annoying about characters like her, mainly females are written this way, is that she always wants to spare people who don't deserve to be spared. She acts like that will give her some grace with them and they just turn around and attack her again.
Trying to be a people pleasure will just get you played.
This dude shows up with the worst request all of the time. Always telling her to be patient and accept the treatment she gets from women he doesn't have any problems with. Yeah, dude, OF COURSE they're nice to you! They want you. But your girl has to deal with them hating on her and framing her just because she's there and smart.
He act like she provokes them and she doesn't. That would get on my nerves, so I don't blame her from being mad at him whenever he shows up asking her to play nice.
I will say that this chick is NEVER ahead of the game. She gets trapped in every frame job. But I'm to accept that she's supposed to be so smart. She has her moments when she listens to other people's insights. but as far as seeing a plot, or preparing to avoid one. NOPE. She never sees anything coming and either luck saves or someone else.
You forgot her other favorite "we're husband and wife in name only"This chick ought to be happy she's…
Yep, that's true. Now, the "King's Woman" was a tripped out one. He was the hero AND the villain. The obsessed bastard and the ML knight in shining armor.
One of my favorites because I just didn't know whether to root for him or condemn him. 😂

I enjoy seeing them jealous and plotting. I enjoy watching them get embarrassed and insulted. I enjoy seeing them think they're getting their way when they aren't. Princess Weiyoung had this to the extreme. 😂.
I watch those scenes giggling like "desperate ass, he/she doesn't want you. Even if you get them, you still ain't got them."
When those edicts go out, I'm like... "Oooh, how are you going to get out of this one?"
I watched ep. 13 & 14 and yep, I like a controlling, demanding, spoiled, ruthless, jealous b*tch or b*stard trying to get their way and losing.
I shall enjoy more of the Princess's futile antics while the General stays loyal to his wife.

I haven't seen ep. 13 yet. But I just know because they've mentioned her several times and the wife blames him saving the princess as a sign that he didn't love her, I just know it's coming.
But you know what, that is one trashy trope I love. 😂 If the main leads have 1 or more obsessed lovers who scheme their asses off to force them to be with them. I love seeing that battle going on the side along with the rest of the plot.
Not sure why ZXW is on the cover when HRZ gets all of the screen time. the cover has me waiting to see exactly how and why they are the main couple.
I can tell the romance is fragile but kind of there, where as the other relationship feels more one sided, but that's the one with all the attention focused on it. But it comes off as big sister, little brother on FL part. With 5 EPS left, I feel like not enough time has been dedicated to ZXW for him to be the MML.
This one is entertaining but very slow where lots of screen time is talking or her snoozing and laying about. Not as much scheming as one would expect.

Her husband is great. And I'm glad they seem to be on the same page now, because I hate when it's dragged out.
Her actions makes me wonder why she thought she could take them on in the first place. Like, it's a household full of ppl who want you dead and it's just her against them. What made her think she didn't need help in the first place?
You're right, she'll have brief moments of cleverness and then acts haughty during them, which isn't earned, IMO until you're always 5 steps ahead.
I'm waiting for the Princess to become a villain and try to force her husband to marry her.
Well up to ep 14, and now they introduced another trope which I also hate as much as the amnesia trope. I am going…
I actually prefer the revenge tropes where they just kill their way to the top. Because ones like these, have the ppl going through so many plots to try to catch the villain slipping up so they can try to get them arrested. Meanwhile, the villain is trying to kill them.
So, now they have to avoid getting killed while they're trying to come up with evidence to prove the villain is wrong.
Why bother taking the risk that you can get to them before they get to you? Give me "Mercy for None" any day.
The approach this series is taking with the hidden identity trope is one of the reasons I don't particularly care for it. It's almost up there with the amnesia trope that I hate.
If it's handled cleverly, it works, it not, you get characters who think they're smarter than everyone else and that no one has caught on to them. Or they will hold on to that fake identity even if it makes no sense to keep lying. Because telling the truth would progress the story better.
FL is full of words with no actions. Stupid because her maid already told her the better plan in ep. 9 that makes sense and she finds an excuse to ignore it. As if the ML hasn't saved her already.
Once again, I find myself enjoying the ML more. Thank goodness Scent of Time is a better show to offset this one.

This chick ought to be happy she's pretty, cause she sure as hell isn't smart or capable.
