He really is, there are many points in the novel that XY gives away that she would choose XL over Jing if they were not Romeo and Juliet:
1- She asks XL if there was no GongGong, if she was the one that had saved him in the past, how would they be today;
2- When XL takes her to travel in the sea, she asks him to stay but he takes her back to her home;
3- When he asks her if there was only Jing and she passed out to not answer under the truth poison because she thought he didn’t love her and she would be humiliated;
4- When, after Jing comes back, she asked Xuan to let XL live;
5-When she fallen in despair discovering XL was dead, even not knowing what he did for her;
6- When she is in comma and hears everything XL says and does for her, she wants to be with him but he goes away before she wakes up and takes her to her home...so, there were many moments, really, that showed how much she loved him but they could never be together so she buried deep. If the drama shows their story like it was in the novel, I don’t think anybody will get over it, it is really like Romeo and Juliet but even more sad because they can’t openly show their feelings.

Yes, I didn’t see it as bad choose, I’m happy for her, I care for her character. But as a reader, it wasn’t the kind of ending that makes me feel amazing after reading because her story with XL was much more dramatic and emotional.

He could have cured himself but he didn’t wanted it so now he is like that and the only person he actually cares for thoughts is XY.

And she likes Tan Jian Ci

This is such a XiangLiu thing to do...”my bae wants a boat ride and those useless idiots can’t give her, how can I make it happen without her noticing is me?”

I can even guess what part of the book they will add detail, some things the author really summed up in one phrase a spam of years, and they could actually show it in the drama.

Her father kingdom would fall in the war, he released the rumors so she would be disconnected of Gaoxin so she would not be implicated by the war. It is cruel, but it is how he can protect her from the war. The thing is, it is cruel, and he should have known she would not have him as a husband after all that.

She also will find a way to call this drama “unlogic” and “treat viewers like dumb”. When she does not find any excuse to bash the production, she will call the story outdated, or complain the platform requires vip to watch episodes, like she did with Rebel Princess.

I finished the book so spoilers ahead...
I still does not hate Xuan, I still like him, I don’t blame him, he only did what he did for XY protection, even Jing sees that.
XY romance with Jing is soft boiled until the end, it does not move me, in the end XY chose the one that was easy to stay with, she can still live like Xiaoliu and travel errand with Jing, and that is it, the impression I get is that if anyone else as available for her was there she would fall in love too.
That takes me to Xiangliu, the true hero of the story. While Xuan tried to protect her but hurt her, Jing loved her but let his fiance hurt her, Xiangliu teach her shooting to protect herself, made her a precious bow, spent 37 years treating her, gave away two of his nine lives to her, while she was depressed because of Jing, he was the one that would cheer her up. In the end, he knew he could never stay with her because of his rebel army and the cause of his people, so he kept her happy, safe, strong while not letting her know how deep he loved her, in the end, he even saved Jing’s life for her. Xiangliu didn’t got the girl, but he surely got my heart!

OMG the Meng Yao reference lol his acting also made me laugh, it was so bad, I would cringe all the time.

I think he still the min lead, the story is about him and XY. In Scarlet Heart the FL does not ends with Prince 4th but with 14th, still, the main lead is 4th. This is a Tong Hua story after all.

I’m reading the novel, currently on chapter 26, and Jing is the least liked by me. When he is not boring, he is weak. But that is my opinion. Maybe the drama will be different, but I doubt, it is following the novel word by word.

I think minus some JingYao shippers (not all) nobody hates him lol

One thing I love in Yang Zi is that she always let those breaking through actors shine. She has great chemistry with all of them and her acting is so generous, you see, all the males that act with her have their share of spotlight. Deng Lun, Yunxi, Xiao Zhan, Cheng Yi, now is the time of the four in this drama.

The CP shippers are starting to fight in the comment section. Urgh, I hate it, every drama with more than one lead is like this, seem people can’t enjoy the fun without the toxicity.
