This drama gives me so many Nirvana in Fire vibes...I'm surprised it isn't on the recommendations. The lead is seeking vengeance and making schemes, the FL is like Prince Jing, it is a phoenix out of favor, in NF Lin Shu must help Jing to size power, in FL TXL must help Mu because he needs money and power from Mu family. Like Lin Shu, TXL is not only seeking vengeance for his family, but also trying to clean the corruption in the system and also put some personal affection, in Lin Shu's case was to help his childhood friend, and in TXL's case, his lover. It is just me or other friends here also saw the similarities?

I do understand where the criticism about the lighting and cameras come from but for my personal taste good writing > fancy shots. In fact, I’m so over fancy shots and dark filter with pseudo detective plots, there’s a bunch of those dramas already but some youtubers only criticize xianxias and romances for being repetitive. What I really can’t agree with the comparison with “too late to say I love you”. This drama is totally different from that one, the only thing in common is that it is a romance in republican era.

People criticizing the lighting and filter of this drama, lol, I wish all the dramas had only this to criticize, but most of the time is boring plot, lack of chemistry, bad acting, stupid writing, which none happens in this drama. Even some stupid comparisons with old dramas I saw people on youtube doing, really? Now any republican era drama needs to be compared to that particular drama? Because, besides the era, nothing else is the same, completely different plots. Some people must find something to criticize hell knows why...

Episode 12 was awesome, thrilling, all the action scenes well executed and believable, great production so far

Surprisingly good show with good writting (so far), acting and production. I have only one complain, the ML’s hair, that weird bang does not get me at all.

The story is actually really good, but fail with poor production and really bad acting, I could barely watch ep 6, the ML acting made me cringe so much.

I loved it, I like it more than One and Only, I couldn’t stop since beginning and I like that their new lives are compatible with what they were back then. They also had to deal with the same struggles of people against their marriage, “eloping”, family problems and so on, but this time around is a HE.
