Guys as a person that waited for The Wolf since 2017 I would say take care of your mental health and don’t get too hyped for rumored dates. The drama will air one time of another, I’m sure it will air this year.

I think the current world is prone to isolationism not only china. China was trying to open I reckon with soft power but after the covid thing the anti chinese sentiment spread around the world as it is pretty clear in the olympics. Also with the uyghur thing and media blowing the topic out of proportion of course China will feel attacked and become isolated. I know where it comes from I just pray God will protect people from harm really the world leaders are a bunch of heartless people, they just don’t care for us at all.

Because of extreme violent scenes, some toxic relations, also the authorities at the time were trying to push contemporary dramas on tv. So The Wolf was really unlucky. Joy of Life and The Longest day in Chang’an also were made to tv but never got approved and became webdramas instead.

There is a solid rumor that she is imprisoned in China for selling the novels illegally. She was already under authorities radar when she was writing HOB (thats why HOB does not have any lemon). That could be the reason she never released the fourth novel. People say the rumor is not true, but the fact is that she really disappeared, she never even posted to say “I’m not in prison”. So it’s hard to not believe this.

The Wolf wanted to run on tv and chinese censors didn’t want that drama on tv, it got rejected many times, a lot of things got cut so the version we got is quite butchered. In the end they just aired online to not lose the money, because China is even more strict with what runs on TV than with webdramas. But I don’t think Immortality will go through the same path. It’s just Tencent way to air dramas in a moment they will make more profit and also to not put two hight budget dramas competing for audience. Soon or later we will have Immortality and I strongly believe we will have it this year.

Agree, even the first book, the “philosopher stone” is actually inspired by the chinese immortality elixir made of cinnabar stone, that many emperors took to become immortals but died instead because they basically drank mercury. JK made an awesome story kudos but people should educate themselves before pointing fingers thinking every fantasy book plagiarizes HP when actually HP have little that is not plagiarized from other cultures.
