No one on MDL watched this? Looking at the trailer for Taiwan C-drama Gold Leaf The Twelve Nights trailer came immediately after. Even without subs I put it on my Plan to watch list, hoping I can find this Taiwanese documentary online.
I think I read somewhere that it's normal in China that the wife is responsible for the finances and gives her…
It is traditionally normal in my North-Western European country too. The wife, usually the one managing the family and the household, is responsible for the finances, the husband gets pocket money.
Watching a 2012 Chinese film on YT, one of the commenters recommends this drama, the last Madame. It sure founds intriguing, when I have time, I will check it out.
The Asian Crush link leads to an error page, and the tubi link does not work, at least not in my country. Streaming films from Kanopy only seems available if you are a U.S. library member or U.S. university student.
As the granddaughter of the disgraced Prince Liu Wu (劉戊) who had taken part in the disastrous Rebellion of…
Happy ending. It stops when the first king dies, and the second king is crowned. Jieyou and 2nd king are in love in the fictionalized history of Jieyou. So, that´s a happy end.
For those who finished the show, does Jieyou marry 3 times ? In history, she first marries the rulling Wusun king…
No. The third marriage is no part of the drama. It actually ends shortly after the death of the Wusun king, and the moment Wenggui becomes the new king.
I'm not a fan of harem dramas, but is this any good?
Yes, I thought it was good and entertaining. I like fictionalized historical dramas. I don´t think this is your average palace drama. It was one of the first C-dramas I watched because someone online recommended it, based om my liking I the actor Justin Yuan Hong with long hair. It is the fictionalized story of princess Liu Jieyou as heqin during Han dynasty. The historical female Feng Liao is also one of the characters.
I´m in the middle of episode 4. Very lovely to watch. Enjoying this light drama with 40 plus actors as leads. Besides ZhuZhu, I especially like supporting actress Zhang Yao (her appearance reminds me a bit of Tang Wei) . Wallace Huo Jian Hua is great in roles as men with some kind of disorder, be it narcissism, Asperger-Autism or ´Cold Face´. The young actors are great too.
