the wifey this is part of culture and Type is more than fine with that word :D
May I ask, can you explain how 'wifey' is a part of TH culture? This is in not to give shade to the show, but the wifey endearment seems to be often used in TH BL so could you elaborate on how it is part of their culture?
Got here and went directly to the comment section. I think I already had a phobia with the way ratings are with TH BL. So far, comments seems inflamed with the 'wifey' endearment again. :) Will this later to see for my self.
I am confused. What reservations do you have about the breaststroke?
The scene was beautiful viewed alone. But as a whole, again, for me, something just fell out of place. But again, it might just be what the writer/director wants.

IDK yet, it is too early to tell and it just might be on me. It might be explained/answered on the next episode. Just for now, I feel disconcerted with how that scene was played out. :)
The cinematography in this series is really great. The OST synced into some scenes also made the viewing experience top-notch. But I have reservations with the way EP 3 was told/written and it bugs me (breast stroke -- yeah! I'm looking at you and others I'm not comfortable to mention) . I hope they will handle it the most realistic or at least the logical way. Then again, other than that, this will be one of the best TH BL for me. :) Recently, I'm finding myself ranking BLs per country.
this is quite popular on youtube witu a million views in every episode! Soo i just stopped by to ask is it rlly…
It's good, almost Thai-like in the approach of story telling but so far had managed to present tropes in agreeable way. Anyway, there are a lot of PH BLs to choose from. Notable ones that had finished airing are Gameboys, Quaranthings, and In Between. Currently airings are Gaya Sa Pelikula, Boy's Lockdown, Better Days, Lakan and Pearl Next Door.
Olan is getting hotter every episode! And the GF trope is alive again. I wonder how Ben can stand Jim's hot and cold treatment of him and the notorious wifey endearment. Ugh!
AND THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE A BL SERIES !! What a precious little gem this was....honestly this show is a revelation…
There are a deluge of PH BL this year. It's as if the industry woke up and decided to produce one each month :). Try these ones that had completed airing: >Gameboys - The enabler of BL in PH for me. >Hello Stranger (if you want something nice and fluffy), >In Between (nice and fluffy too, plus it explores friendship within a group) >Kumusta Bro (again might not be for everyone) >Batang Poz ( idk if you will consider it as BL. and it has mature context in it)
These are the ones currently airing: >Gaya sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies) >Ben X Jim ( I think the most TH - Like PH BL to date based on plot and stereotypes) >Quaranthings >My Extraordinary >My Day >Amore >Lakan >Pearl Next Door (not BL but GL, but please do support.)
There you go. And a lot more to come like Oh Mando, Better Days and Your Home. Please do support PH BL/GL, because as ate Judit said... Ally!
I think you must also be aware that the cringe you felt was an indication of internal homophobia. I felt a momentary…
Did I say I cringe because of Karl's feminine way of acting? I never did. I cringe because for me the dancing scene is cringey. And that is that. Not all things that we feel watching BL series are rooted to negative emotions.
And internalized homophobia is a coined word, humans gave meaning to it. Saying that there is no 'heterophobia' invalidates the meaning of homophobia. Anyway, I will not pursue this discussion because my viewing experience is not rooted to what you are insisting.
Also, I just noticed, did you just created your account just to reply to my post? Well, I am flattered :)

But if that is the reason, would you say the cringe you felt as internalized heterophobia? I don't think so. The cringe I felt with the dance scene I think is just that, its cringey and nothing more. It is not rooted to any phobia but from the viewing experiences from watching films, shows and series (whether it is BL or not). And as I've said I know they did make it cringey because it is needed for character development plus the post script in the end.
But I think their market likes flat, android-like acting because this show has such high rating.
Agree with the problematic writing. They were able to add an arc that is not in the novel (according to the past comments, I've had only read the Oxygen novel) but were not able to edit the original novel to translate well into live action/series. And that I believe is just lazy.
Kokoy really is a versatile actor.
Noooo! Just ahhaha no!
