This post is about episodes 30 and 31. If you have not watched it or do not want to know about what happens then, do not read it.
Main emotional tone of episode 30 is of sadness. The CP is released from prison quite fast and Wen Shuo manages to free himself from the captors by himself. In the meantime Luo Xi Ming discovers the real identity of Wen Shuo and what a wonderful strategist Han Ye is in his investigation. As the head of an intelligence network and plotter for the recovery of Di family's honour, he seems to appreciate and develop a newly found respect for Han Ye for what he did to protect Di Jiyan when Han Ye was a teenager. As a strategist and deviser of false truths, he cannot but help respect the audacious act Han Ye pulled. He managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat when everyone was watching him. Di Ziyuan is still in the dark about the real identity of Wen Shuo, and Luo Xi Ming does tell him. I can understand why he does not, even though he acknowledges to Li Lang that some of his motives were selfish.
In that regard, knowing a war is coming on and most of the participants will not see each again. Farewell dinner was a sad affair for me to watch, even the atmosphere there were joyous. Furtive glances between Di Ziyuan and Han Ye did not escape anyone's notice. Despite the love they feel towards each other, they both managed to act as if everything is fine.
Han Ye was the one who made the effort to keep in touch and maintain a degree of relation with Di Ziyuan. She refused as usual. Han Ye is the epitome of altruism, he disregards his own feelings, prioritizing Di Ziyuan's safety and happiness over his own. He never tells anyone about how much he has done or sacrificed for Di Ziyuan. He is the epitome of a good Crown Prince, he is aware of his responsibilities and he is a master in keeping secrets. I feel sad when he looks so sad and forlorn and puts on an act of happiness when his heart is torn into pieces. He really let Di Ziyuan go and accepted that he will not see her and despite his pleas she will never agree to work with him, let alone be his wife. I wished everyone had the same attitude to keeping promises as Han Ye. Di Ziyuan still loves him, but she also seems resigned to her fate that they will never be together. However, most of my sympathy goes to Han Ye since we as viewers know about the depth of his love and actions he has taken on her behalf.
Prince An Ning discovers the identity of the spy in her camp, but it looks it is already too late and the enemy camp has lots of military secrets on its hand.
The next section is about the trailer for episodes 32-33 if you have not seen it, do not look at the following section.
An Ning dies on the battlefield as an act of self sacrifice. It seems neither An Ning or Mo Bei managed to kill each other following An Ning's discovery of his betrayal. There is an ongoing war on these episodes and Di Ziyuan seems to have mobilized her troops to help Han Ye protect the country. She says she is doing it for the country (another dig at Han Ye I guess, I am not doing it for you man). Most interesting part of the trailer for me was when army chanted for the execution of Luo Xi Ming. Han Ye accused him of using his position for personal reasons, disregarding military orders. Apparently it is an offence punishable by death and it is quite clear that Luo Xi Ming did it. I am quite curious about what he did. Di Ziyuan is asking Han Ye not to execute him and she will capture the city herself to ensure that he is not punished. I am looking forward to these episodes with apprehension and curiosity. It looks as if it will be painful to watch those scenes.
Did you watch the trailer for 31? Reasoning for war is reasonable but I wonder how it got to that point.
Based on the stills from the generic of the series and spoilers from the book, I do not think Mo Shuan will be injured or die during the said house fire. I just think it is used as a pretext to declare war. However, since the officials need to find a corpse at the scene, I was wondering if fake DZY was the one who died at that house. I would not miss her a bit and appreciate if script writers made use of this annoying character in some way
Some of the adjectives were misused to define him like weak, guilty, dull, bland and effeminate. He is an introvert…
It came out of nowhere but when you consider the environment he is forced to live in as a lonely person with strong beliefs about justice, right and wrong, we can deduce that he also needs to be a tough guy mentally and emotionally. HY needs to have ruthless side to his personality to survive in such devious environment. I also think many people can become ruthless when their core values and loved ones are threatened. His paranoid father would not have designated as CP if he was a softie all around.
Can someone who knows Chinese history explain what is the difference between the roles and functions of Left and Right Chancellor? Why are they called Left and Right? Are they responsible for different regions of the country?
I've seen many adjectives used to describe Han Ye over the last 29 episodes, handsome, weak, righteous, guilty,…
Some of the adjectives were misused to define him like weak, guilty, dull, bland and effeminate. He is an introvert who likes to keep his cards close to his chest. He is playing the role of CP as he should and acting according to his beliefs on the side without giving any clue to his actions. I really appreciated seeing the breadth of Gong Jun's acting prowess.
Technically, HY killed a spy sent by their enemy, Northen Qin. They just need to find proofs that he's a spy. The…
You are right, if Officer Luo can find evidence to prove it, he may get out of prison before the war breaks. From the trailer for episode 30 on internet, I saw that DZY received the news about the breaking of war when she was away, So I think CP will be released from prison before the war breaks and Luo, AN, DZY and HY will celebrate release of HY together (none of them wiser about the secret he keeps I am thinking)
I think it is not justified to call Han Ye's nature as passive. Due to his position as Crown Prince, he can not…
I do not think he will tell AN either. It will be totally out of Han Ye's character. In one of the previous episodes, he asked AN not to keep any secrets from him since he is his elder brother and take care of anything for her. Keeping secrets is a burden and HY will never want to burden AN with such an important and dangerous secret. He is the type that would want to shoulder all the burden himself, he would have shared it with DZY if he had known that she loved him. DZY is more impetuous than him so I do not think he would not shared it with her before he became the Emperor. Only when he thought he would die at the previous jumping or falling from the cliff scene he tried to tell DZY. I am sure he has a left a letter somewhere only WS can find in case he dies. HY is used to living by not sharing any secrets or thoughts with anyone and probably it is the only way to survive in a treacherous environment like palace where there so many intrigues going on . As they say if two people know a secret, it is not a secret anymore. I am sure he is keeping all of his secrets to himself, since this is the only way to keep all those secrets safe
Well, well, well... HY, HY didn't see that coming but was that they only way you could keep the left chancellor…
I think it is not justified to call Han Ye's nature as passive. Due to his position as Crown Prince, he can not run around swirling his sword around, but he has never been passive. He has always taken action in one or another, action does not have to be physical . He tried to threaten the Left Chancellor before and when he was blackmailed and threatened, he killed in self defense. He was always good in fighting and had showed his military skills in previous episodes. He resorted to physical violence as the last resort which is totally understandable.
Luo Xi Ming wants DZY's army to be ready for every eventuality I think, be it for the protection of their home country against foreign armies or Emperor, perhaps as a means to overthrow the Han Emperor if necessary.
I think DZY is keeping her distance and acting indifferently towards Han Ye, because she is not indifferent to him. Luo recognized it in any case. What I gather from the trailer of Episode 30, I think MB will fake his sister's death and use it as a pretext for Northern Qin to declare war on the Emperor.
I do not think DZY will realize the identity of WS from the tidbits that will be told to her. I think her reckoning will come after WS tells her at the famous cliff scene (according to info from book readers etc). Then all this info will make sense all of a sudden, but it will be too late for her to make amends because HY will be gone.
I think she would not be mad at HY for keeping the identity of WS secret since two Di family survivors and a male one would definitely be perceived as threat by the emperor and it would have put all of them WS, DZY and HY under danger.
Episode 29 ended so quickly. Gong Jun did a very good job in that episode. We were all able to see the harsh and stern side of him. He is definitely a very stubborn man, true to his word. One episode per day is like a torture. If they have released all the episodes, I would have watched without sleeping
Well said its a very valid point, maybe an issue of the emotion blocking the facts? I also believe that HY only…
I think it is easier to move on when injustice is done to you personally. It is harder to move on when injustice is done to people under your care, I think 80,000 people create a heavy emotional burden for LMX and DZY
