She reacted on her emotions but she did not act on her emotions. She did not leave strategic thinking to men.…
Even though they could have given more time to her military strategic thinking, if they have not used their screen time so unwisely before, since there are too many viewers around waiting for a kiss scene, they probably thought it would be boring for most viewers. Unless you are interested in military tactics, giving too much detail about her strategies, tactics would be boring for many viewers.
DZY both in the drama and novel is someone who operates in two modes:Default Mode: "I'm in control, I'm not afraid…
I thought panic mode DZY was peculiar to the series, it is interesting to learn that she also has this side in the novel as well. Your amygdala explanation explains the situation very clearly.
Because of that side to her nature, I think HY would be a far better ruler. Maybe I am biased because I am more similar to HY in that aspect than DZY, the most stressful and fucked up the situation, calmer I get.
When the characters in the series talk about their kingdom as the world, I can not help but laugh. Like Romans in antiquity and USA in modern times, ancient Chinese saw their country as the world I guess.
I actually thought DZY did pretty well in these episodes because she was a strategic general, strong and commanding…
ML and SML are treating a very capable woman as damsel in distress due to their overwhelming sense of guilt I guess. HY also has an enormous sense of responsibility, he is willing to shoulder the blame for all the problems in the country and on behalf of his family. I am feeling so protective towards him, this lonely CP
I just finished watching ep 33 and 34.. i hurt for Han Ye at Di Ziyuan's treatment of him after LMX's "death"…
Perhaps you should mark your post as spoiler for the ones who have not watched it yet. Many people can appreciate the value of people not lost yet, but she is a young, passionate soul.
I actually thought DZY did pretty well in these episodes because she was a strategic general, strong and commanding…
She was a good military commander but not at all there in terms of general strategy. I think her reactions were a bit hysterical, human side of her personality could have been shown in her private quarters not in front of all army
I am left with mixed feeling after episode 33 and 34. We got some half assed explanations to the events in the previous episodes. The acting by Gong Jun was top notch. Since they wasted so many valuable screen time at previous episodes, now we are galloping towards the finale.
I really hate that they made DZY acting on emotions, leaving all strategic thinking to men.
I suspect that drama companies might opt for "adaptations" for legal reasons. If the source material (novel) ends…
Do you mean original scripts are always become subjects to accusations of plagiarism? As far as I know, production companies have to pay the author as the owner of the story and characters, at least that is the case in Europe (and USA I think). If the adaptation is very faithful to the original source, they just have to pay a higher rate.
I can not fathom how being stingy helps the adaptation. In any case, written material and visual material most of the time are not conducive to identical adaptation. If it was their rationale, they have botched it. Since I can not read Chinese, I do not have any idea but does not the credit refer to the writer of the novel as the person, story and characters of the series as based on?
Dear Scriptwriters,Thank you for ruining the GREATEST novel of all time and destroying the BEST FL & ML in history.…
It is the producers' responsibility to choose and direct script writers, The tempo of the series depends both on the script writer and the director. The director and producer can ask script writers to change many things in the script. If the information on the internet is correct, than this series has a turnover of directors and script writers (probably higher than the practice in C-dramas). If it is higher than normal, than it means the source of the problem is the production company. Perhaps there is a turmoil or power struggle going on and it negatively impacted the production.
Promotion of the series should be the joint responsibility of the production company and the TV Channel. Generally, TV channel bears the greatest responsibility. I have no idea what is going on, but it is clear that the company did not fulfill its responsibility to make the series as good as it could have been. It is still a watchable, good series due to actors and the story line of the novel, however from the comments of the book readers it is clear that it could have been far more better if they had put their hearts and souls in it and worked towards it.
Episode 32 ...I'm disappointed 😥They went to war like they went out for fresh air, with no good preparations,…
It was a sudden attack and all of their previous plans and strategies were delivered to enemy. What kind of preparation did you expect at this stage? LMX is guilty for the lack of coordination.
I can understand the frustrations and disappointments of book readers with the series. I also get frustrated if the series or the movie does not align with the book. However, there are very few faithful adaptations in the world like LOTR, GoT and Harry Potter series. Amazon even managed to batch LOTR in the series version afterwards. Hence after years of being frustrated with book adaptations, I have learned to treat series or movies and books as two separate beasts. I regard them not even as siblings but cousins of the same family. If you manage to adapt such an attitude you can enjoy both versions. I know it is not easy, it took me years to manage it, but it really helps. I am looking forward to reading the book after the series is over when I manage to find a good English translation.
Why is LMX assign to lead the backup forces for Anning when his role is the head official for the Ministry of…
Normally you are right of course, it would not make sense. But two high level officials were eliminated in previous episodes, Left Chancellor and Marquis of Zhogiyan, probably some others involved in their conspiracies as well. The Emperor may not have any trusted and devious official to appoint to this position at the sudden break of war.
Because of that side to her nature, I think HY would be a far better ruler. Maybe I am biased because I am more similar to HY in that aspect than DZY, the most stressful and fucked up the situation, calmer I get.
