What I enjoy about this drama so far is that people, with exceptions, are sincere to each other with their own limits / boundaries. I like all three leads. Seong Jae isn't as prominent a character but enough is said about him through his role as Ji Hyeok's best friend and his unrequited feelings for me to find him interesting. Jung Il Woo as Ji Hyeok is killing it. He portrays his strong headedness, pride, and independence very well. He wants to be comforted but cannot ask for it, because he has kept himself emotionally withdrawn from others as a protective measure. Everyone leaves him to his device because they feel he won't budge if they ask him to, but he clearly WANTS someone to beg him out of this trance.
Rewatched, and my rating has gone from 8.5 to 9. Really well directed and written. Three writers working on this helped, because so many aspects had to be covered - mystery, horror, found-family, lore - and none of felt like an afterthought. Themes of loss, love, grief are all handled delicately in each case. They complemented Hong Jiah's and Hong Mi Jin's story and hit emotional notes that made theirs a painful story.
In my opinion, each episode is meant to be savoured. Enjoy the story. This doesn’t affect you the same if you binge it.
Geun Ho requested something of Ha Seol, and I believe that's why she went to the doctor the second time around. But doctor, believing she's threatening him, will actually drive her someplace else and threaten her. I am anxious for her.
Geun Ho himself seems to be very affected by the events. If there was rape, was he involved? Why else would he hide the bag? It is very apparent the fathers are covering for their sons, so maybe they asked for their help in panic after accidentally killing Bo Yeong. It would be very upsetting in that case -- she was their friend.
I also think the two murders are not connected at all. One just happened after another. The only connection is what upset Bo Yeong because she fought over Da Eun in the car with Jeongu.
If they kill Hyeon U, there is nothing really keeping me here, because Seon Hui would be stripped from everything positive. But I doubt her parents would take that step, they seem to be concerned with her well being to an extent. If he is gone, she'd be inconsolable.
Jung Woo Jin has a crush on Cha Eun Kyung for 15 years. According to psychologists, crushes often last a few…
This is not limerence, in my opinion. Woo Jin has been a friend to Eun Kyung for ten years, and his relation with her does not have the pain that accompanies limerence. Even he is surprised by Yeri's observation; both him and Eun Kyung are not privy to it.
yeah I bet they are just going to make the excuse he is a sadistic SOB with no real reason of why
That's good enough reason in itself. We know the group is dysfunctional, but we expected only Tae Jin had control. It makes sense that it's actually Sang Hui -- he controls Jong Soo through drugs, manipulates information to make Jung Hoon commit murder, yet is "meek" enough to keep attention away, and clearly disagreed with Jun Seo's sense of justice (that could have harmed him the most).
I doubt that Sang Hui is doing this as grand scheme for justice, because he was clearly enjoying what happened to Jae Kyung in high school + was the guy behind Yun Jin and Jun Seo's falling out. Furthermore, he misled Sung Hoon to Jun Seo's wife's doorstep. It's clear that he got Jun Seo murdered OR he's just playing with the situation for his amusement.
See, I like a good message but without the preaching. And this show overdoes it. How is the teacher's approach good and not traumatizing? I can't suspend disbelief because the delivery is so self important.
Either it was the quality of the subs or this special had little direction. It tried to say something, but it was rather incohesive. Loved Kwon Soo Hyun though -- makes you wonder how actors of his caliber are overlooked in the industry.
