The high heels thing was bothering me too. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one.
Most definitely! It takes away so much from what she could have done in the drama. She would have been able to run in a life-threatening situation easily, and be able to hide better because heels click. I can accept a cop with perfect hair (albeit begrudgingly), but heels push it too far.

Even the hero is suited up most of the time. Make it make sense

Despite the little details that are annoying me, the plot has picked up and it is really intriguing so far. I wonder where they will take this. I hope it won't do a complete 180 and change the nature of the drama.

Arg, that "female cop wears heels on field" crap is here as well. It would not have been unrealistic had she been simply in her room giving orders. But out in field? This is a pet peeve of mine. Anyway, I like Han Sun Mi, so I will ignore that.

If you believe in personality archetypes based on the zodiac, then Jang Na Ra, who is a Pisces, is and has always…
Since I am not a romance watcher, I have not been exposed to movies with great narratives when it comes to romance - I often find the messages problematic, so I give up the whole thing; same goes for books, except for maybe the classic, Emma. I am actually watching 'Oh My Baby' because of the cast.

And I understand where you're coming from about stark realism - I can never binge watch those sort of shows; always have to take it in breaks. These days, I am attracted to fluffier, less heavy shows as the world is not the happiest place right now. I like social commentary / exploration of various themes a lot in my reading and viewing experience which is why I sit through heavy shows (though that is not necessary since comedies are brilliant at commentaries too). And if a show has great story telling, I fall in love.

I did not watch Crash Landing on You - from the small snippets I saw, it seemed to romanticize the army life, and being a North Korean. Tragically, it is highly rated on this site. Reminds me somewhat of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - it was fluffy and tried to be funny; even if did pull off comedy, it was uncaring with the way it dealt with the conflict. It tried to be deep when it did not have to be. Dropped it at the last episode, lol. I guess I am too picky and rather unforgiving towards romance.

I prefer couples of same age as well - because only then are they usually intellectual equals. And I understand what you mean by the conservative nature of romance. I usually dislike the unnecessary, shallow drama romance tends to have - be it in a movie or a show. I like realism in relationships depicted in books, shows and movies, so when the relatability aspect is stolen, I find it meaningless. But that does not mean that I don't have a few guilty pleasures of mine. lol.

The only thing I relate to is having a big internal world; I am neither a recluse, nor someone who has been in many relationships. I do relate to my mum, but not in the way she sees the world. We actually differ a lot in our opinions. However, I have the same drive towards my career as she did.

I have not watched Fated To Love You simply because the premise is not my cup of tea (though I may check it out one day). I like a good romance, but I usually choose shows that are bigger than that; otherwise, I get terribly bored. I like Jang Na-Ra based on her roles in three of my favourite dramas she happened to star in - I admire her acting prowess and her flexibility. She is generally lovable too.

I also hope they do not make this unbearable to watch! I do not mind noona romance, but it should be done right and convincingly - any relationship that happens here should be, honestly.

I am not a Scorpion, but know many Scorpions personally (my mum, roommate, cousins). I am actually Pisces XDXD
If that's the case as you mentioned, hopefully Nara is alone... with someone. I always want the best for her

I don't necessarily believe in zodiac signs (except that scorpios suspiciously always fit the scorpio characteristics lol), but this sounds interesting! Jang Na Ra, however, has said in an interview that she mostly was the one who got dumped because she is too upfront to play the push and pull game of dating. And she also wants to settle. Guess circumstances aren't in her favour :/

And yes, I do think this drama aims to show the perspective of someone who wants to skip marriage in a society that opposes that idea. I am 90 per cent sure she will marry in this drama, but the scenario is unique at least.

Same. Seeing how good the cast is, it would be a pity if the writer makes some poor choices in moving the plot forward

But more than likely she's gonna end up with the younger guy with the huge age gap. That's how it usually goes.…
Hmmm... guess we will have to wait and see. I personally don't think that will happen.

There are so many heart warming dramas airing recently! Or maybe I am noticing them more given the current situation these days. It is unfortunate that I am busy studying that I cannot fully indulge myself in the fluff :/

Jang Ha-Ri is an irony for Jang Na-Ra, who despite being (supposedly) single often finds herself rumoured to be getting married to some actor. This role could very well be a side of her she wanted to show - that she's fine not dating, and can hold her own. She has mentioned before that she chooses her script based on what her character wants to portray; I wonder what exactly resonated with her in this role.

Ah, serial killers. Two people who are working on the same case. Sounds like Hello Monster with a mix of He's Psychometric. After watching the first episode, I can conclude it is more action heavy, unlike Hello Monster (which was focused on the psychology of criminals), with the trope of a lead being able to see memories better handled than He's Psychometric.

I did not know Jang Nara and Yoo Ah In have worked together! This is such a nice thing to know. I really want to watch this movie now but seeing from the comments below it is not available online, but hopefully it is by now.

Okay so I was skeptical about Go Joon and Jang Na Ra though I know Na Ra knows how to spark chemistry with anyone. Now I am not, people. I watched a fanmade poster of these two, and they would most definitely look good on screen if they looked so good side by side.

This was really engaging throughout - the plot and the characters, I found myself attached to both. It did lose steam around episode 13, but it picked up pace soon enough. I liked the ending, especially - it reminded me of how much I had grown to love the characters in this drama. The character development was believable and well-paced, though it happened only in a month, the drama made us understand how every minute counted towards Park Moo Jin's growth. He did seem like a perfect person at one point, but it was only that he was a man of principle that made him appear that way, since he did have his moments of weakness. All the actors were great, my personal favourite being Ji Jin Hee, and, most importantly, Son Seok Koo. Son Seok Koo was so good in his role as a secretary - it was made for him. His dialogue delivery was on point - I simply love how natural he is. As for the plot, both the investigation aspect and the political aspect grabbed my attention. In the first half, the politics was more captivating; in the second, I found myself enjoying the investigation more,

I feel there were a few answers the show could not or did not give. The little reveal in the end did not completely take me by surprise, but I felt they should have explained the actions of that person throughout the presidency of Moo Jin. Also, I feel the writers made answers a little convenient to arrive at, and when we did get them, there was no moment of understanding theother party. Had they delved more into the ideologies of the antagonists, the drama would have had more intrigue and tension. It would have been lovely to see how this one character had every one under their control. Then there is Oh Yeong Suk, whose potential was wasted somewhat. This is why sometimes the 16-episode format does not work for dramas like these.

However, given the length of the drama, it did a very good job. It could get cheesy at some points, as the good seemed to win often, but it also inspired me to do something worthwhile (as an aspiring scientist :p), so I guess that counts. I am torn between giving this an 8.5 or a 9 though,
