The height of foolishness of the ML in the first episode alone made me want to drop this. But I'm persevering for the FL. Let's see how long I can bear this.

Title The Nokdu Flower Spoiler
I wonder how Yi Hyun will face Yi Kang now. Perhaps he has forgotten already, like he claimed to in front of Lady Song. He is too rash, akin to an 'uncivilized' person, ironically, and maybe he desires to be the one in power. I fear Yi Hyun is too driven a man now to back down at a smaller status even if he does achieve equality in the end. Perhaps I am underestimating his ambition, but I am too disappointed in him to want to give him much credit anymore. He is a shell of a man who, just for a revenge against his Master, will do anything necessary. Understandably, he was enraged, but now, he has crossed a line. He is like his father in many aspects. But I have no complaints with how the character was written, of course, Great writing.

On a lighter note, in the preview of the next episode, it seems Yi Kang will comfort Yi Hyun's fiance. That's a nice sight to see, their interaction. The poor girl is being too harsh on herself. The doing was solely her fiance's and her brother's and a bunch of other factors.

I was wrong about Yi Hyun. I gave him too much credit, like Yi Kang made the mistake of doing. I fear him now. We all know he is capable of worse than murder. He is too blinded by hatred, too consumed with rage.. It's funny because before I could imagine Yi Kang embodying such a role, but now they have exchanged places, with Yi Hyun straying even farther from the position The Man stood on.

hae il approves. im gonna watch it because of her too.s he was so cute in fiery priest.
Nice to see a familiar face! I hope this journey will be memorable for us too

One reason I am interested in this is Geum Sae Rok - she earned herself a fan from her role in the Fiery Priest. I am glad she is starring in another seemingly promising drama (hopefully!).
On The Nokdu Flower Jun 15, 2019
This only gets better each episode. Each character is doing something - Lady Song's ability to keep a cool composure has landed her an imortant job; Yi Kang's guts and loyalty has him face to face with the King; and I think Yi Hyun's dark side will enable him to undertake tasks others would be unable to.

They could have made this better had it been more focused on Han Kang Ho's development: they could have had him work with the rookie while making decisions so he could learn, or independantly studying. The romance, in my opinion, should have been in the back, while the courtroom politics in the front.

One of my annoyances is just how much the FL drinks. Does she even drink water? She doesn't have any problematic traits, and I quite like her, but, goodness, cut down on your beer and soju intake.

I'll have to admit, the OST and the poster brought me here. I knew straightaway this leaned more on the political or thriller side. Let's see how this goes, knowing that Netflix has got it to split into two. Must have been 20 episodes.
On The Nokdu Flower Jun 12, 2019
I was afraid the plot would lose its steam after the events in episode 20, but that is not the case. I am enjoying the politics immensely!

there is, but it is pretty much side-lined, and less prominent than Jo Jung Sok's
No problem! Hope you find what you're looking for :)

It seems politics is more of an issue here; I would say the love lines are more of a side story. However, the focus on it when it's given tends to be bittersweet.

We don't know that since the ending will tell us. However, the drama is too good to be ignored.

Yeah, as person that looked for similar drama since I've watched Hello Monster I can recommend : He's Psychometric,…
Confession is very good! I actually watched a bit of Mad Dog yesterday too. :)

Just rewatched to make sure I did not give a 10 for anything. I do not get why people would say that the female…
I agree 100%. My only problem is editing at a few points, but story-wise, this drama hit the right spots. This was one of my first crime kdramas, and after watching many dramas of this genre, I can safely say this was well-written AND unique, because the plot was independant of the "evil of the higher-ups" like many dramas tend to rely on. Sure, there were a few actions here and there, but the role of the higher-ups was very convincing and understandable in those areas.

As for Cha Ji An and Lee Hyun... A commentor on this page said that viewers will excuse anything for a character if he's ridiculously good looking. Besides that, I believe many had overlooked the essence of the story, which explores what makes a person a monster, and where morality stands. And we explore that through each main character and criminal presented to us. When you boil it down to a mere bromance, you're bound to overlook the sheer toxicity underlying the bittersweetness. Ji An saw it as a tragic relationship like it was. I guess others wanted fluff when it was beyond that.

It's been highlighted throughout the show that PBG was obsessed with his brother pretty unhealthily, because he was a proof of his stolen childhood.

The preview for episode 13 tells me that it's time for Song Ja In and Yi Kang to drift further apart. But I am glad Yi Hyun has gained sanity; however, I would have loved it had Yi Kang punched him a few more times.
