I go through withdrawal in between episodes :,)
Yo, are you me? Because I go through withdrawal between episodes too.

I was thinking about the OSTs of this drama, and thought I should mention that they are absolute bangers. I love hip-hop and rock, so to see those two being utilized and presented so pleasingly is such a treat. They suit the nature of the drama: fiery and comedic, and a little melancholic. Guess who's going to go through major withdrawal after this show ends... That's right: me.

ok I see that they are being "episodic", but I still didn't connect with anything... they don't just talk too…
I am enjoying the cinematography and the acting. The scenes are pleasing to the eye, the acting is convincing, but I cannot connect with the characters either. I encounter this problem in most tvN dramas. The atmosphere they use, and the editing that goes into it, only serves to "darken" the surroundings, which consequently disengages the viewer from the character.

Title The Fiery Priest Spoiler
Oh my God, the ex-agent is worse than I thought. That bastard. I despise him with every thing I have. First, he orders his junior to throw a bomb, knowing children are present at the site. Later, he, based on some stupid grudge and connections, decides he should ruin the life of his junior. Not only that, but he trains three men to kill people who have not even wronged him, but are merely connected to his enemy. What a waste of space.

Other than that, I have a lot to say about episode 16. The bond between the nun and Kim Hae Il is really wholesome - she let hi share his burden, and that was such a sweet sight to witness. Also, the prosecutor, who I was not fond of initially, is growing on me. I love Song Sac - definitely a body guard for the King. Sigh, I wonder how the Priest will protect them all. Maybe he won't be able to, but there has to be a catch. It could all be a way to threaten him into silence, without murdering anybody. Can't wait for next week.

Watching episode 16, and can I mention how cute the priests are? They were all badass initially, then they were back to being clueless and became your everyday audience. "You can't offer your wrist, how else will you pray?" cracked me up. And they looked handsome too in their suits. :p

Oh, and Kim Hae Il and the Detective have great teamwork and chemistry. They embody the "Bro" meme. It's hilarious and endearing. I knew they would be a memorable duo when they walked out the police station in episode 5, all swag and sunglasses.

Man, I laughed so hard watching episode 15 / 29&30. First of all, the girls make a great team. Absolutely loved the Prosecutor's expressions, lol. Then we have the church squad. I swear to God, the church has recruited such characters, it's a blessing. The late Father sure had an eye for people. The teams in the drama scream #squadgoals, and I am not one to use such labels. I am loving the comedy, the character development, the ACTION - such a beauty to behold. This is one of my favourite drama series, hands down.

Or "Oppa??" I can imagine his flattered expression. He's awesome lol

I enjoyed it till around episode 12. The characters became... bland. The interesting ones are honestly Jo Se Hwang, the female prosecutor, and the priest. Kang turned boring, the profiler was disappointing, and I guess the writers couldn't manage to execute the plot. Sigh. The premise could have been promising, if only they had tried harder

The drama is promising - at least the first three episodes are. The mysterious past of Choi Do Hyun has intriguing aspects that still follow him to the present. And unlike many or a few, I actually like the female character (despite my disapproval of excessive drinking); she is good at what she does, which is reporting, and given her knowledge about politicians etc, she will be valuable in future cases. Right now, the character that is most interesting to me is Han Jong Gu. The actor playing his role is really good, not to mention the outbursts he has. I guess I like crazy characters - they spice up the plot, lol.

The scene with the Priest Han revealing his acting skills was great. I loved how he used the "Don't you have a mother?" appeal to gain the Russian's trust. It was epic, their "umma" and cries. You may be badass, but your mother always has a soft spot, lol.
On The Fiery Priest Mar 31, 2019
The recent episode had a lot of "looking into the camera while delivering a dialogue" and I loved that effect. It suits the prosecutor a lot. Moreover, the surprise reveals about each character makes it worth watching. Sigh. I will miss this - only six episodes left.

I loved the girls working together! My favourite detective with an annoying yet capable prosecutor? bring it on.

Despite the disconnection I had with the two main characters (funny how I feel that way about characters in almost every tvN drama I have watched), I still enjoyed it. The time travel concept makes you an active watcher, since you are busy figuring out the logic and consequences of each shift of events. I just wish they had expanded on the concept of communication through time - why it started, continued, and jumped back to the beginning. The purpose remains unclear.

The bonding of Park He Yeong and Lee Jae Han through a handful of meetings was one of the most memorable parts. I would say the past events were something I anticipated a lot, mostly to see Lee Jae Han in action. The present was very exciting too.

Overall, I am satisfied with what they gave us and its conclusion - a rare one for me. A must watch!

I maintain my position on the characters. While Park Hae Yeong stirred emotion within me, and the situation surrounding the many victims of the corruption in the authorities, the one character I have learned to deeply care about throughout the whole drama is only Detective Lee Jae Han. He was determined, empathetic, and intelligent while being rash and a bit too blunt. I have to applaud Jo Jin Woong for doing justice to his character.

The plot is enjoyable, and if you're one for thrill, the chase is exciting. Maybe I have watched too many crime dramas, but it was sometimes predictable, Yet I don't find it a flaw since the viewer figures it out almost around the time the character does - or reveals that they know so. One complaint I have is that you do not feel attached to the characters. I am on episode 11, and the only character with whom I feel a connection with is detective Lee Jae Han. Another gripe of mine is the acting of the profiler and the team leader - they come off as dramatic. The haircut the team leader sports adds to the effect, given her features. The camera angles focus a little too much to their faces. I guess that makes them unnatural. They are not bad actors, but they are overdoing it.

The actress, had she been convincing, could have made this drama a lot better. They made a mistake choosing her.
