The plot is pretty weak because stuff keeps flipping and judging from the preview of next week, more of the same…
Hmmm, I think the plot is pretty strong. After all, this is more of a character driven drama, so seeing each character tackling situations thrown at them is what this was basically about. Along the way, the plot developed itself: Jung Gook went from being a conman to becoming a politician, realizing what is right as goes through the phases.
What a strong start! I am loving this - but is that too early to say? The characters are torn between the right and wrong, particularly Lady Song and The Man. I wonder where it is headed, since saving one of them destroyed any hope the people had of living peacefully, although that seemed impossible too, given how unsuccessful past revolts were. One thing is established: only the three can break this down alone.
I am in love with the lead lady. It is superficial for me to say, but she is not the traditional korean beauty, which is why I am pleased to see someone like her in a lead role. Plus, the character she is portraying is promising.
How is every one's expressions on point?! When Jung Gook found out his ranking improved (the toothy grimace, and the hint of smugness) and every one when Mi Young entered their little planning room. They are so natural! Loving this! And another drama this year with awesome OSTs!
Episode 20 had such an unexpected plot twist! I should have seen it coming, but you could not suspect him. Now I get why every one called this suspenseful.
Absolutely mad how these rich people will risk their health to get out of prison. You are basically choosing a life of eternal sickness (what with the measures they take) over spending a few years in jail. I get it, I get it, life is hard in prison, but it is harder when you decide to damage your internal organs.

I mean, he could have handed that can of cider to me, but he had to waste it like that in a haughty fit of "guess who I am, you monkey walking on two legs, all alone!"
Yep, Director Seon is worse than garbage. He is so aggravating, I wish I could smack that crazy smile off his face. For context, I am watching operation 4 / episode 8.
It was a pleasure to watch this and witness the growth of the main characters. The actors were great in their portrayal. I would personally add a little changes to the story to add to the impact - like showing more of Park Shi On's past, his interactions with the director, and maintaining the depth of emotion he had since the start. However, it is still a 9/10 for me - it is well done given the year it was aired.
Kim Do Han's growing affection for Park Shi On is endearing. He stubbornly cares for him. In episode 15, he called him "a big headache" with such begrudging affection, it elicited a snicker from me. Just admit you have a soft spot for him! On a more serious note, the fact that Kim Do Han is undergoing character development because of Park Shi On is touching and satisfying. "Am I a good doctor?" This sets the theme for this drama: what makes a good doctor? Makes one appreciate the consideration put into the story.
Many might feel Kim Do Han is rather cruel, but, had I been in his shoes, it would have been tough for me too. His priority is the well being of his patients and the smooth working of his department. Anyway, he has warmed up to Park Shi On in his strict, cold way. It's bittersweet to see that he reminds Shi On of his brother, and Shi On elicits the the same emotion from Do Han. These two characters are similar in more ways than one.
