I totally agree with you. “Love at first sight” is too romanticized and young people really think it can happen. I agree that when it “happens” it’s pure luck that the preferred looks match the preferred personality. Ok, Ming is undoubtedly a grade A asshole, but I admit even assholes can fall in love. My question to Ming, though, would be - what the heck does he see in Tong except for his beautiful back (which is not even his)??? So he hasn’t even spent any quality time with Tong, having left for America right after they met. And he’s already in love??? With what exactly? It seems to me that Tong just grabbed his chance when introduced to Ming’s sister (big sponsor’s kid). Even if Tong wouldn’t mind sleeping with Ming - he can’t afford it being in the industry. So his obvious choice is a girl whom he can legally marry and get into a rich family. I might be wrong, but he’s too sleazy for my taste. We’ll see. But still, Ming had almost no interaction with Tong - where’s this obsession coming from? 🤷♀️
From what I understand, he does have a heart condition where his heart sometimes can beat too fast to the point of hurting. So his sister chose to work at his school to keep an eye on him and give him meds. That’s why he looks concerned when his watch gives out warning about his heart rate going up. He was mistaking it for his condition acting up while it was his reaction to being with a person he likes 😊

From what I’ve seen so far, they call their older friends P’ or Dr (if a friend is a MD) all the time unless they are the same age and close friends. Of course, I don’t know Thai and go off of what I hear in the series. My impression is that it’s a norm to be extremely polite to older people even if it’s just a year older. Ter is at least 2-3 years older since he was a head hazer when Dee was a freshman. I noticed they even call a friend med. student “doctor”, so this was not a “sign” to me. If Ter meant it in your definition, he’s just wrong. In my view, Dee is not plain or boring. If he was supposed to be like that, they picked wrong actor 😂 This Dee is extremely cute, smart and interesting to me. Also, you never know what a person is like in bed from their behavior outside of the bedroom. So, if Ter meant it like that - his loss. That’s where Dee should have just let it be. But, Dee proceeded with a stupid (imo) question - “Why don’t you like me regardless of gender?” Seriously??? Dee, you don’t have a chance even if you are a leather daddy or whatever Ter’s kink might be, simply because he’s not gay. It reminded me of stupid BL girls who pressure gay men with the same kind of questions, even after they are told they’re gay 🙄At this point, Ter might be just trying to scare Dee away.
