I can’t be talking about everyone so I will say about myself.
I don’t like Nueng and I don’t see any hypocrisy in my statement. That’s because I equally don’t like any gender forcing themselves on their partners.
For me, consentual contact between partners is the sexiest thing, so… I don’t see a hypocrisy 🤷‍♀️
Also, I have my opinion about this character based on her actions - while I don’t mind bitchy characters (female or male) I prefer smart bitchy characters.
Of course, I am not trying to control your opinion (that would be idiotic on my part 😂) and I’m glad you’re enjoying their story.
This is my first Thai lakorn, so I’m probably not used to the genre so I might be overreacting to something that’s normal for this kind of shows.

So I am just stating my opinion while trying to tell you that not everyone smacks the girl while praising the same behavior in a guy, that’s all.

It’s just that I don’t watch lakorns, so I guess it’s not my genre.
Also, I have seen people like Kaew, but I have never seen people like Nueng (thank god), who would graze someone with their car and proceed to buy a purse. That’s why to me it’s opposite - while Kaew is more realistic, Nueng is just a lump of clay with all the negative features.
Positioned alongside with Thames she just doesn’t make any sense - hence, my frustration with this story.
I love Tay and I love Thames, but you’re right, it might be better to drop it and wait for Arty’s story 🥂

I don’t think it’s about “mental age”. Thames is an introvert with very strong values.
He’s extremely logical (which I love), while he doesn’t understand some emotions, so he could be on Autism spectrum. In addition, he could be pansexual or asexual. I am not an expert, but I think it would actually make this story more interesting.

That’s because she’s a selfish, no, egotistical bitch. I root for her to get back with her ex and leave Thames alone. He’ll find his partner when he’s ready.
Of course, we all know the writers will have poor Thames stuck with Nueng as if she could ever be “live of his life” 🤦‍♀️

I agree - if My Ride just dared to go with the novel and show Nadya the way he was there they could actually have a huge hit on their hands, but unfortunately they passed on the opportunity 😪

I did watch the Heartstopper, and it is very cute. The funniest thing is - my teenage daughter and her friend watched it on repeat like 10 times and were soooo into it! I told her if they like it so much - they obviously like BL - so they should watch some Asian ones since that’s the original genre. Little shits just don’t want to read subtitles! 🙄😂 Whatever, their loss 😂 It was kinda funny to me how much hype this show got while it’s very much like BLs I’m used to. I mean it is very good, try it if you have time. It’s just for me there wasn’t anything ground breaking 😂

I agree My Ride was on a slower side, but their healthy dynamic is what totally made it for me. Also, I really liked uncles in both novel and series, and I loved Nadya in the novel. I was pissed that they had a girl in the series to play Nadya. Why??? In the novel it’s a bulky muscular guy who is very effeminate. His story was so cute - I would love to see it on screen.
As for DBK, I don’t think Kao was intimidated at all 😉 I really don’t like that intimidation trope, but there I didn’t feel it. It was just Pete being moody as usual, and Kao is totally used to it and doesn’t care much 😊

Oh yes, if Porsche’s childish behavior could be like that for the sake of humor or whatever, the bodyguards were totally inspired by Mean Girls or something. Yeah, I don’t think they were close to life at all 😂

I saw a hint of a switch couple in Dark Blue Kiss (played by Pod and Gawin), and Bad Buddy. Again, just mere hints - I guess they are scared to lose fans who live for hubby/wife trope 🤦‍♀️
My Ride was a great novel and series (I liked the novel better) - maybe because it’s written by an actual gay couple? I really don’t want to throw blanket statements here, so all I am saying is I would like to read and see more BLs created by men just to gather statistics. If you have any recommendations - I would love to see them 😊

Same here. If it wasn’t for Tay I would just skip this story. Of course the fact that I like Tay and his character only adds to my frustration with Nueng character, so I’m not sure what’s better - watch it or drop it 😂 I will definitely come back for Arty’s story - I agree, Gun is an awesome versatile actor, and I don’t feel like his character would need a protection from an intrusive witch. Unfortunately, because I strongly relate to Thames character, all I want to do is protect him and sway a frying pan or something at Nueng 😂
Great job to all the actors and actresses - my bitching sessions always go only to characters and (sometimes) the writers who created them. Never the actors! Love them all! 🥰

I loved Manner of Death, Triage, My Ride, Not Me, Because of you, Long time no see, History installments. KinnPorsche was good - production and actors. Story? Well… ok. I probably shouldn’t have read the novel as I hated VP part there and I think it trickled down to the show, even though they changed it around (thank god).
I liked Love Mechanics mainly because of very talented actors - War can act like there’s no tomorrow! I can watch him just standing still 😂
I do wish BLs brought more different characters, like I don’t think there’s enough strong bitchy effeminate guys who won’t trip over their own feet. Also, bring more “switch” couples who don’t adhere to seme/uke trope - the more different characters, the more interesting stories we can get - I think 😻

Because of a couple of things (the way I see it).
1. Writers are too lazy to come up with a relationship dynamic close to real life and just copy/paste good old tropy hetero dramas, substituting female with a male. Given that in Asian dramas FL is a perpetual damsel in distress, you get a guy who’s totally infantilized and cringy (just like those FLs).
2. The whole genre came about in countries with strong patriarchal structure, and women who created it were just having their sweet revenge by placing guys into the situations they would normally face.
3. Given that those tropes bring money from the fans who will eat anything as long as the guys are cute - why change and strive for better writing? 🤷‍♀️

So, we get what we get. Thankfully, we started seeing a change with better shows, but this trope of a super useless bottom will probably survive an apocalypse 🙄

Well, let’s see how “adorable” her character is 🧐
1. She doesn’t give a shit about people’s life unless they are in her immediate circle (security guard she hit with her CAR and proceeded to buy a purse).
2. She is not only selfish but also dumb - she misplaced her hatred towards her father for bringing another woman in the house onto that woman who didn’t do anything to her. I still have no idea how she got that best CEO award… All that furniture was designed by Krit… she opened a cafe? Wow, cool… 🙄
3. She doesn’t understand personal boundaries - Thames is uncomfortable with her touching him and she proceeds to do it on purpose, “playing”. She kisses him without his consent.

I think that’s all for now. Just my opinion about her 😊 I’m really waiting for Arty’s story now.

Same with the kiss. She knows he’s a virgin at his age. That means he’s extremely particular about personal touch. Knowing that, planting absolutely meaningless kiss on him just because she feels like it is the next level of selfish and disgusting to me.
Of course, this is a romcom and it’s made out to be “but he secretly loves it”, just like they do when genders are reversed. But I don’t see him liking it and there’s no consent, and that is a problem for me, whatever gender crosses the boundaries - I don’t care.

Nueng is still not redeemable to me, sorry. As someone who strongly dislikes being touched - if I told her to stop touching me and she still continued - she’d be flying against the wall. She just doesn’t get boundaries. The rest is in the spoiler 😉
