Not gonna lie...the second leads' kiss was so much better. The mains' first kiss scene is pretty undernwhelming…
Yeah... I think second lead kiss was better in the sense of how explosive it was. I think we all were waiting for ML to just grab her like how SML did. BUTTT i also loved how CZY looked very nervous. His shoulders were tensed up and he kept his eyes open until both lips touched as if he were afraid it wouldn't happen. Made me as an audience member nervous for him because I immediately recall that time at the picnic where it almost happened and inside their room when there was thunder and lightening. So his nervousness that it might not happen really came through. I thought it was very well done on his part. I actually missed the kiss the first time because I was fixated on his gaze upon her.
Watched this to prepare myself for Mr. Bad and Hidden Love since I've never watched CZY. I gotta say, I LOVE CZY now and have super high expectations for his upcoming dramas.
Binged this in less than 3 days and had the best time doing so. This drama is if A Love so Beautiful and Go Ahead came together and had a child. It spends almost half the drama showing their high school days and relationships and it's simply done so well. I'd realize throughout the high school scenes that not much is happening, but at the same time, so much has happened and I'm completely addicted. Similar to our daily life when you think about it, nothing really changes in day to day life but through it all, you're growing up especially in our high school days.
CZY and his bestie's acting is exemplary. Both of them are naturals from how they execute their lines to their subtle expressions towards each other and other characters. This role was MADE for CZY. This male lead is so lovable. He's cool and intelligent, always there for the FL and his friends.
At first, I didn't like the female lead. I didn't think she was particularly attractive either. But somehow, she grew on me and I think it had a lot to do with her chemistry with the male lead. I enjoyed her character arc - going from a quiet shy girl to a more brave college student, not afraid to go after what and who she loves.
I highly, highly recommend this drama for those of us who like the slice of life, growing pains, high school romance stuff. I feel like there's a lot of common tropes throughout this story as there usually is but the director does it so well, they're not stupid nor are they cringey. Such a joy to watch. Currently rewatching!
There are a lot of cliché's as most C-Drama's have. I was so frustrated that there was more character development…
LOL I thought I was the only one skipping all second lead scenes. I literally saw their face onscreen and fast forwarded through every single scene. I had absolutely zero interest.
Give the female lead a chance the same way we give it to Wang Hedi before. It is really a sad reality where we…
It’s true we are more critical towards females but I think in this case, quite a few of us just aren’t fans of her acting - not her, her acting. She seems to have a very, very narrow skill set. Wide eyed looks and that’s kinda it. There’s that and then it just so happens WHD *just* broadcasted LBFAD which showcased his drastic improvement so all of us might still be hung up on that, wishing he gets to pair up with a more able costar. I think it’s just all expectations.
I am 100% NOT saying I’m not a fan of this FL bc I’m delusional and I want WHD and Esther together forever. I’m strictly talking about how I’ve seen her in other dramas and the way she presents (or maybe is unable to present) herself seems more suitable for second female lead roles.
I do, however, very much look forward to being wrong and I do want to see flourishing chemistry between the leads in this drama. So fingers crossed!
A.. um.. uh… very steamy scene edit between Zisheng and Shaoshang… it makes me blush just watching it.. 🫣https://twitter.com/wulucandy/status/1571900074355200001?s=46&t=42O2AVExr64ndtKyZo7gpg
It took me months to finish this drama. Started a couple episodes, dropped it, waited a few months, came back, tried a few minutes, dropped it, rinse and repeat a few more times and it finally stuck but only until episode 14 and it dragged again. Barely made it to the finish line.
The acting from the main leads were great. There certainly was chemistry. But there was zero character arc for FL. She was still able to act well but there was nothing interesting for the audience to look forward to for her. This is my first time watching ML and his acting was very genuine, not cringey. I’d watch him again. All the second leads except attorney and reporter felt forced, esp short haired girl and her sunbaenim. I was here for the entire drama and I still got blindsided by their relationship, wasn’t believable at all.
This drama needed to be 12 episodes or less. Preferably 8. I think it would have been waaaayyy more enjoyable. Would I recommend this? Eh. If you have nothing to watch and are a sucker for romance like me and are willing to sit through long periods of dull filler subplots then sure. Otherwise, a skip wouldn’t be unwise.
UGH not according to that leaked clip of him with his new FL in his new drama!! He is all over her in that scene.…
RIGHT?! Steamy kisses ftw. I think because their chemistry was so good and the slow burn was sooo slooooww that I would have appreciated some fireworks. Instead, we got some tame campfire.
