So... I've been hooked since the beginning but now I'm on episode 32 and I feel like the storyline and the obsession has come to a screeching halt. The storyline seems to be dragging and it's almost a repeat of the beginning with different circumstances and new characters. She's ignoring him again (albeit for reasons we as the audience know) but also, we been through this. She hates him and he feels neglected and from all the pent up hate from being abandoned he becomes evil. So why might I ask, is she repeating the same mistake. ??? He needs love and care from the one he loves so he doesn't turn bad.
Fight scenes are also slightly too drawn out for me and it makes me feel like the team is just flexing their money muscles. I'm getting...dare I say it??? a little bored. :( The evil witch is evil again surprise surprise. I want to be obsessed again - waiting around for every episode ugh. I crave it. I'm just a little disappointed at the trajectory of the story is all.
Please don't spout hatefire at me. I love bai lu and luo yunxi. Love their chemistry and love them as individual artists. Just seeing if anyone feels the same and if they have a way around the rut.
the main thing is they wasted a whole episode doing absolutely nothing...like it was all time pass...they didnt…
I don’t understand why they do stuff like this and then rush endings. There’s obvs a lot of material but they focus on things that seem to not matter. I mean, is the nanny granny story that essential that a quarter of the episode was dedicated to it? They could have showed us a montage of him gaining divination through teachings from his master. Unless, this nanny story was actually of serious importance in the novel but the screenwriters blew through it so it’s neither here nor there. 😒

This drama pales in comparison to ashes and TTEOTM. But if youre watching JUST for LYX, you might be able to get through it. For me, it was the lack of chemistry between the leads also, I'm just not fond of FL's acting.
