Ep1 is interesting. The production is good. There are the usual slaps but the story is not convoluted or farfetched. ML is not perfect but a nice guy. He kind of looks like Song Joong Ki. FL is a bit immature and stubborn for me but she is still likeable because she is more stupid than she thinks. lol. Can't wait for ep2.
A bit disappointed although I might have expected it too that Cho Yeon became an annoying character..
The stunt she pulled with that broken Ying and Yang jade was really bad. Maybe she was just immature and jealous but still. Since she is part of the 4 seasons, probably she won't turn too bad.

All the characters have been introduced now so I don't think there is a bigger evil behind him apart from the Queen who looks a real conniving weasel. I believe he is more powerful than he looks since he can do Alchemy of souls and he was in every plot since Nak Soo was a kid and Jang Uk was just born. Plus he is CP's master... and maybe is dad too?
Uk will probably fight him to stop him and the Queen but not to become King. He'd prefer be with Nak Soo rather than becoming King.

He is a prick. Because he saw his dad with blood on him he had to rat on him and sell him. Why when he was only 10 years old and his moral compass was not properly built because he had learnt nothing about life yet. If his dad is really proven innoncent, he can live in shame for the rest of his life. Still at 10 y.o., you go talk to your dad. You don't denouce him.
As an adult he is a brute with a anger issue, beating a civilian and even threatening them when he is a cop and supposed to be upholding the law and protecting the civilians. He even said he does not trust the police then why he is one to beat people? His logic is rotten.
No excuse for him for becoming the bad apple he is now. He made himself into that person. Others who suffered more from the past events did not turn into someone bad like him.
To make his act of selling his dad look like an honorable thing he did for his friend is wrong. Any kid who does that to his dad when he knows nothing is just a little prick. Probably they will save his butt in this drama but so far, he is just a despicable person who talked and did despicable and illegal things. He should have his badge taken away for beating a civilian already.
I conquer to differ, the plot is not the best but the two main leads make it worth for me to watch this.

Agree with you. Yeo Jin Goo is doing a great job conveying the emotions that his character has during the hardship he goes throught. I like Moon Ga Young too. She is mostly clueless but it is what she is supposed to be. And she was adorable in her pink sweater tucked in her jeans.
Finally a really good episode. Loved the chemistry between the leads and their progress in their relationship.…

Seriously this guy needs someone to give him a taste of his own medicine... It would probably not put more sense in his brain but at least it woul be fun to watch.
This ep9 was really draggy. Only the two leads' interactions saved it from boredom.
The punchable bad guy teasing them is the writers teasing us. The cops are annoying with their everyday life chit chat when they don't do their job properly. Rookie cop is an A hole. He pities himself only and dares threaten to kill ML when he is a cop. The ajhummas are boring too. And the mom and grandma are no fun anymore walking at night with weapons under their coat. Too many flasbacks especially about ML's family collapsing... The father is just a coward.
I hope tomorrow's ep have more actions and plot will be progressing.

The mage families did not kill her father for no reason. I suspect Jin Moo and the Queen either manipulated the mages or they manipulated her father. These two are the ones who had the biggest interest into silencing the man who detected the king's star.
