These kind of stuff make the story inconsistent or consistent. For exemple, why he would grant a concubine position to Court Lady Dong? Because she lied for him to ascend the throne? So that is a reward for a lie she made to allow him to be King. Where is the morality here? Or his mother forced him to take her as a concubine? But what her use? She has no family and no power.
If the story is about ML doing bs killings as King because of duty and he tries to make FL understand him, yeah I will probably drop it....

Be punished for what since it appreared Yoo Hyun Bo was the treator obtaining a false testimony. Why grant the wish of a traitor to kill the victim that traitor wanted to frame. That makes little sense for me.
That does not justify to comdemn hundreds of people he knows are innocent and cause the death of many of them.

I am not interested in a drama that depict the sad life of royal concubines back in Joseon or Chinese empires. I need one where the ML has some morality and a code that makes him look a fair person despite the difficult choices he has to make. Honestly in ep4, what happened in the end makes no sense to me compared to all the bs and values he claimed to uphold.

The witness said he was asked to obtain a false confession from FL and then he refused but the Minister of war's son forged it. So why ML condemned FL and her friend and all the others to be exiled and that lead the coutersan and many people to die? He has no redeemable point.
