I’m half way at ep 2 and I’m confused. What is Sandbox? Is it a company? And if it is, who actually owns it?…
Sandbox is a Start up incubator. It is a structure created by the CEO of SH venture capital who presumably owns the most shares. She created Sandbox to help entrepreneurs run their startup by providing workspace, seed funding, mentoring, and training. They are admitted via selection and they are given an amount of time to prove their potential.

You are entitled to make any judement on my comment and do whatever you want with it.

Some great actors like Tom Cruise, Joaquim Phoenix, Russell Crowe... have never been in any acting academy so I don't take this credential as a proof of talent. I don't despise Leon Lai as an actor. I just state an opinion about him: that he is not expressive enough to be the ML and for me he is not the right choice for this project because his chemistry with Bai Lu is off.

Of course I do also blame the writer as chemistry depends on writing of the interactions between the characters.

You can say it is because of Bai Lu. Certainly she has her share of responsibility but overall she is talented and recognized. You have to acknowledge that.

Let's meet each other halfway . These two have nothing to do together on this drama.

HJP never followed her to see where she lives or to confirm if she is the SDM he was writing to... Because the…
You are certainly right in a sense that my way of enjoying the drama is not necessarily the way others should enjoy it. I like to stick at what is shown and told to make my undertanding and live to the fullest the story which is told to me.

Despite I like to say it is the way to enjoy the dramas, I totally respect the way others do it. They can imagine that HJP fell in love with her in the middle of the street or in the letters. That his dog died so he bought a cat who got lost forever so he bought a red fish and told everything to Dal Mi. They can understand that when HJP says "we made him up"! It means "He is me!". Or when he says " we wrote these letters together" it means "I alone wrote them from the bottom of my heart". As long as it makes them happy.

Probably I cannot read between the lines or I can't take the hints this is why I can't understand that HJP forgetting her name is because he is too much in Love with her but his brain has memory lapses . Thanks you for taking the time to advise me. I will remember it.

I have seen Leon Lai in Legend of Fuyao only. I thought he was pretty good and I was expecting a lot from this pairing. On the stills it looked ok. But in the drama... He has no chemistry with her. Not only they have same the facial features and a bland connexion to the point they could be brother and sister. There is not sparkle, nothing sizzling between them.

I did not have anyone in mind before this show starts. Now I do have because of course the lead actor is not a good choice obviously. I even think now they should have switched the SML and ML actor before the shooting. He is no lead actor material. He was barely lead actor before. They took a huge risk by choosing him. The risk does not pay for me.

I can see Bai Lu having many lead roles in the future. I seriously doubt Leon Lai will have.

Bai Lu is no Gong Li or Zhao Wei or Zhao Lusi to mention a young actress. Anyway she has been consistently doing well in her recent drama except for this one that I see like an accident. I also looking forward to watch Forever and Ever. Allen Ren is a pretty decent actor. Hope the writing will be good.

Oh I also wanted to talk about in Jae. At first I was trying to understand her reasons but when they showed she…
In Jae knows her sister used to have a penpal but she is not close enough to Grandma or Ji Pyeong so that the truth could leak until her. I doubt it will come from her. Regarding the use of the story told by her father, it shows how insecured she is and she would try anything which would give her a bigger chance. She did that to have the best mentor with the best credentials while Dal Mi chose the one who can be part of the "family". It will surely backfire to In Jae because she used the wrong method: lying to her new mentor.

You are imaginating things. He does smile at all. He just exhale and look up. He is wondering what is going to happen as the cherry blossom trees are blooming. What is going to happen is Dal Mi is going to loose her father, her sister and mother will go oversea and he will be freed of writing these letter and go to college. This scene is just the calm before the storm.

The scene has nothing to do with SDM. You imaginating he grew fond of her is just your assumption. He never really cared about these letters. Later he even accused grandma of luring him to write these "stupid" letters by calling him a good boy. Do you think if he ended caring for Dal Mi he would call these letters "stupid"?

Why can't people just stick at what is described, shown and told instead of extrapolating? HJP said himself he refuses to be the responsible of these letters and of what they turned SDM into. He said he never wrote these alone but with grandma and they made up the penfriend together. Why he would say that if he ever cared about Dal Mi?

I understand that many people like the SML and there is a huge SML syndrome around this drama. Maybe they will end up together. But it is not necessary to twist the facts and the obvious so that it will suit and support their expectation. I think the drama is well written and gives lots of emotions but people can enjoy these only if they understand the messages given without inventing them. Or they are bound to be disappointed.

How romantic wouldn’t it be if Rara actually did run away with Jun. But I still understand why she dodn’t…
Running away would make them look bad and make things very difficult for them. She would not want that for Jun and he would not want that for her.

Ra Ra is naïve but she is smart and she has common sense. I agree that she let Jun go because she cared for his wellbeing. It is a good thing that they are separated so they can miss each other.

No it is not absurd. It is stalking. He stalked her because he wanted to know who she is.

He could have introduced himself as a friend of her Grandma.. Someone who used to eat at her store 15y ago. What's so shocking in this? He would have confirmed Grandma is fine and walked away. This is what normal person would do in such circumstances.

HJP hasn't let go of SDM after 15y without making contact with her? Seriously?

You keep making up stories. Saying he saw the name of the receiver is NDS and it reminded him he was lying to her this is why he did not open the letter is plain ridiculous. You are trying to twist the obvious facts. He took the letter, exhaled with an annoyed face and walked. She tooks the letter, smiled and giggled and opened it. Just to tell what was the importance of these letters for each of them.

But ok, You are entiltled to you own opinion.

I think he never made the link as I said to Polo749. If he did he could just have introduced himself after the lecture and asked for news of Grandma since she forbade him to find her. He followed her because he did not recognize her or her sister.

If he remembered her, and was so curious about the girl he used to write to, why he did not ask Grandma about her when he went to see her the next morning? It should have been his first or second question. "How have you been? How is Dal Mi? "

Proof that he never asked, only when Grandma visits him to ask for a favor for Dal Mi, he asks to reconfirm her name. He never made the link between SDM from the Lecture and Grandma's grand daughter.

Your argument about why he exhaled and did not open the letter makes me laugh. Because it was addressed from SDM to NDS? Like there is another NDS than the fake NDS who is also her penfriend and uses the same birdhouse? ... Cmon.

I have read many comments from people who said he recognized her but I think he did not. The name rang a bell for him but he was unable to put a face or a person on it. This is why he said no when the CEO Yoon Seon Hak asked him if he knows her.

He followed her to give a chance to his brain and memory to figure out who she is. When he sees them together at the foodtruck, it is not enough for him to be sure about who this woman is. Could be a part time worker or just an helpful hand.

When he meets grandma the next day, he never asks about Dal Mi. They never talk about her. Only the day when Grandma comes to his office. This is why he asks for her name again because actually he never made the link between Seo Dal Mi from the Lecture at Sandbox and Grandma's grand daughter. Only then he knows for sure the girl at the lecture is the girl of the letters.

HJP never followed her to see where she lives or to confirm if she is the SDM he was writing to... Because the…
He did not follow her in the present because he wanted to know how she was living. He absolutely did not recognize her at all so how could be curious about how an unknown person has been living? He never knew who she was until he sees Grandma with her and still this was not enough infos for him to be sure she is the girl he was writing to.

The connection was completely fake. You saying he shared what he felt later is a speculation. We see this nowhere. We never see him writing something personal (on the contrary). The letters were so fake and too mature her father knew straightaway it was the grand mother doing.

HJP never poured himself in these letters. If you watch ep1, when SDM goes to fetch a letter in the bird box, she is smiling and giggling and opens the letter immediately. He goes to fetch the letter, he exhale like he is pissed and doesn't even open the letter and walks. He even accused grandma of "luring him" into writing these "stupid" letters. I really don't understand people who want to sell this like a special connection between them. Or we are not watching the same drama.

HJP said it himself as an adult. He and grandma forged the letters and made the penfriend up. He denegated any individual responsibility on these letters and their consequences on Dal Mi. So how could these letters have be a real connextion between them? It was not.

BaiLu, a very pretty actor, seems to have a trajectory of moronic roles. it is obvious that china dramas are male…
Bai Lu is not a bad actress. She is a lot better than most chinese drama actresses. Her previous roles as strong woman like in The Legend, AMA , Lucky first Love or Love is Sweet were good. The problem here is the pairing and the writing.

When you have a tomboyish face and bratty heroine, you cannot give her a male partner who can't act to save his own life, has an haughty face and no other expression for a change. If you put Xu Kai in his stead, the drama already looks something else. No, the FL lead already looks a lot better with the SML with exactly the same behavior.

Regarding the writing, the dialoges are nothing special and can't be cute because the ML can't act cute. It looks weird when he does. They look
alike and they interact together like they are a gang of brother and sister.

This is a wrong choice of pairing.
