FL ending with SML happened in older drama like King of Baking. ML was Yoon Shi Yoon and SML was Joo Won. Both were young actors but Joo Won's character showed so much presence, intensity and such a good chemistry with FL lead, they made FL end up with SML when FL and ML had a real childhood connexion not like in this drama.

Nowadays , most big kdramas are pre produced. Impossible to adapt the drama to the audience. Once the ML is decided, the story doesn't derive from the decision and there is no chance the SML gets the girl. The producers can't predict how the FL and SML will be received. As a precaution they will not take any risk to upset the audience and receive tons of hate from the fans. It can be uncertain but no one will put a total twist.

But as he slowly falls for her he will see that it can really be prejudiciable to him and his feelings. It does not matter. SDM already likes NDS. In his youth HJP already had a dark side. He used grandma account without telling her. He accepted to be in a scheme with her to lie to SDM. He could just have said "OK, grandma, if she has no friend then I will be her friend and write to her by myself to comfort her". But he just agreed to do it to repay her kindness to not be indebted. Also he was hot tempered and yelled at grandma. He always was indivudualistic and selfish. As a grown up man, I think it helped him to become successful but giving him a cold and ruthless side. I don't think he hates the Three Stooges from Samsan tech or look down on them. He has the attitude he deems necessary. He is friendly and helpful to them but his priority is his interest and his success rate. This is why he talks harsh to them.
