Oh I understand why he wants to keep Zang Hai. The dude is an asset and knows how to deal with situations.

But I just find it ironic that the man Zang Hai is planning against is the same man who is helping him in a way lol. That is gonna hurt him in the future when he finds out Zang Hai's true intentions.

I was wondering why Zang Hai wanted to rush things along. He felt panicked when they were taking their time to decide so he had to say some more words to force them to make a decision.

Makes sense now - he knew he had little time before the gates moved again. Smart but risky for sure.

I think it is the official like Shi Yiping - the man who stepped out when Zhang Hai came out of the tomb. Or another official. I feel the eunuch would require a lot of opportunities to leave the palace which I dont think they can since they always have to serve the emperor. An official that is on the opposite side of JingPing makes sense. Someone who doesnt like JingPing and wants to prevent him from succeeding.

I found it a bit amusing that everyone around PingJing wants Zang Hai dead. BUT the one person who kept him from deaths door is Ping Jing. THE same man who Zang Hai wants dead lol.

Zang Hai orchesterated his death. He put a seed of doubt in JingPing that the bodyguard would 1 day hurt him because he doesn't wait for orders and just does it. Like when he killed the aid in the tombs - JingPing never said anything but he rushed to action. So, because of that he is tellijg JingPing that he has to be careful because he might be loyal to him just for show but behind his back he is thinking something completely different.

Seems like Zang Hai is playing puppeteer in this scene.

Wang Zanhai also created the Bronze Door - well he created the temple that the Bronze door resided in. Again he is mainly the mastermind behind a lot of the tombs that Wu Xie and the gang discovered in the Tomb Series. But he was never physically there - he died a long time ago but was mentioned several times has a genius of craftsmanship.

He is mentioned several times in Ultimate Note. I don't know if you watched the Lost Tomb Series - but it is the story around Wu Xie. It's him and 2 other people who go to different tombs and try to figure out mysteries. Most of the tombs they go to - are built by Zang Hai. You can say he is the mastermind behind all the traps and mysteries behind the tomb series.

He is never shown in the drama but he is mentioned just as the builder of the tomb they are visiting. Also, a lot of artifacts were created by Zang Hai. The most specific one being the copper fish. They are like 3 of them and they both have history written by Zang Hai on them. And most of the tomb raiders during hte modern times in Wu Xie's story are after it.

It is the same character. Zang Hai is the tomb builder mentioned in the Lost Tomb series but his story is an original script.

And I so far do enjoy it. It isn't romance driven but if you enjoy political and revenge dramas - it is for u.

In episode 8. A servant knocks on Zang Hai's door and states that everyone must stay in confinement for 3 days. And he said the reason is because the bodyguard "killed himself".

Oh I agree. The guy is closer to Xiao Zhans real life age. But I also think some people in modern times just look either younger or older for their age.

I remember watching some historical dramas and they have to play 16 or 18 year olds while they look minimum 25+.

Yea he killed his bodyguard because he killed Yang Zhen. A lot of officials were sending in reports of how JingPing was immoral and killed someone in the tomb. To stop that - he had no choice but to kill him to please those officials and say how he acted on his own to kill Yang Zhen.

I honestly thought he was 46 but it makes sense. Back in the day people got married at like 16 or 14.

Zang Hai really going through it at every episode at this point

The pain of losing another member from his past. But the satisfaction of seeing that sniveling little rat finally die was just everything!

Zang Hai better than me because I would have looked at him and just laughed at his face while he was dying.

Yea that was the 2nd heartache that I did see the trailer for.

I was really hoping he would survive and maybe he would help Zang Hai with his revenge plot but of course he has to suffer more. Uncle Ji deserved better 😭
