Well the deaths for the revenge were mostly in the first episode (the 14 people or so that died). The other deaths following were just how rich people treat those that are weaker than them. PingJing could kill those people if it meant it helped with his agenda - and that was the case. He needed to show the people of the country he was helping the emperor - but in reality he was just throwing incompetent people in the tombs which he knew meant their deaths. But those people that died in the tombs really had nothing to do with the revenge narrative but just the overall story of how Zang Hai needed to get close to PingJing.

So far, the ML only solved 1 major case and was sent to be PingJing's lackey's lackey - so pretty much no power. It goes to show that revenge isn't so easy to get especially for someone that has NOTHING. He is an orphan with no backing and no money and has to find a way to take down the 2nd most powerful person in the country. And on top of that the lackey's fear that he will take their position so now he has to not only get revenge but find a way to get out of the constant threats that the lackey's being throwing his way. Because they clearly have no life - like imagine they spend all that energy in trying to maintain their position. They wouldn't have to worry about losing it to Zang Hai in the first place.

Agreed. I am glad he is different from Mei Changsu from NIF. I think they both have revenge on their minds but we can tell that they approach it differently. Mei Changsu had more resources behind him while Zang Hai - really only has his master. And we can tell that the master doesn't have riches - they are all just using their brains to get what they want.

I think its obvious that Zang Hai isn't ruthless because he still cared for that singer and even the builders and unlike Mei Changsu he doesn't think 100 steps ahead. He is presented with a situation and tries his best to figure out a plan out of it. Which I feel is more realistic - it is kind of impossible to plan out things that far ahead because we know a lot of things might not go your way. To make a plan and it to go your way means all those small details also went your way - which is not possible.

Right? And they didn't even give a trailer for episode 8 so we don't know how he gets out of that situation.

Noooo. I need to know what happens in the next episode. And the trailer is only for episode 7 but not 8

Ummmm. So the fish seal might be a key of some sort - so at this moment maybe no one can use the cube artifact. Or it was already used . . . Ummm a lot to think about lol. Because I know his dad was gone for a few days - so he must have planned something and maybe it was with thr mask guy. But the mask guy seems to also dislike PingJing along with all the masters. So, I feel like they were once killed by them so the artifact was definitely used. Kind of like that butcher who died in the tomb and said he would hunt him even in death.

Wait . . .do u by any chance think that maybe he was one of the dead soldiers we saw at the beginning of episode 1? And when Zang Hai's father picked up the artifact he was able to give them a command of some kind. And the reason for the dead tattoo is part of that? Idk lol.

Yea I think they touched up on it by showing how those in power made sure to suppress anyone under them. Kind of like what they are gonna do to Zang Hai. So, of course, the country will never have smart people because the incompetent people are on top and making sure they stay by never letting the smart ones reach the top.

If you remember episode 4 - the one person that would be considered an expert was saying how he would never do it. The reason being that it would kill him. We can tell that he is also incompetebt and he also knows he is - therefore he doesnt want to be put in a situation where he dies.

Funny how he will accuse him but he is the one stealing. Wouldnt be surprised if that is how he turns it around. By telling PingJing that he has been stealing for years.

I actually said the same thing when I watched but realized he probably didn't think it was that bad of a situation. And he probably thought his mother knew best. He just went in the bunker because he wanted to hear the conversation and see what was happening (being nosy lol).

But if you think about it - if he did bring her to the bunker they would have both died. The PingJing guy knew Zang Hai's father had 2 children. A girl and a boy. Someone took Zang Hai's place but no one could take the girls place. And if he didnt find her - he would have definitely looked harder to find them and would have found that bunker. Which would mean both would die.

Your talking about the Yang guy right? You could tell right away that he was jealous when Zang Hai was called over by PingJing. He is supposed to be a mentor but doing his best to suppress everyone that is remotely smart. I have a feeling he wants to get him thrown out by saying he stole stuff.

Ahhh - thank you. I am horrible with names so I thought it was the guy who worked for Zang Hai's dad lol. But this makes more sense since he is supposed to be more for Feng Shui and not really a strategist.

Ahh. Okay that makes sense. Because I know the guy that killed his family was 1 of the 3 advisors that are close to pingjing. And I thought the one that had the plan to make it look like a bandit robbery was also one of the 3 advisors when they were talking about them - when he was flipping through the pictures that were given to him.

This is definitely a enemy to lover situation. If I am not mistaken Xiang AnTu threw Zang Hai to the wolves - knowing that he might be killed. I wonder how Zang Hai is going to react when he meets her again next episode after what she did to him lol.

Oh he wasn't? I have to watch that part again lol. I thought he came at the end to burn everything down. But, yea even a bigger reason why it isn't. Even if he was - I don't think he even met his son just knows that he has one that is around 10 years old. He seemed to just be a small underling during the time he worked for Zang Hai's father - so I don't think he had much of an opportunity to meet his boss's son and even if he did he quit working for him years ago so his son probably looks MUCH different from the time he worked for him (again if he even met him).

I think they are talking about the Feng Shui guy. The one who use to work under Zang Hai's father but left him because he was never gonna get promoted. He decided to work for PingJing instead.
