Every passing episode and I am just counting all the moments he needs to make it up to Xiaomei lol. Can he just break up with HHL already - its been too many episodes already.

Oh yea. The thing I learned is that MDL is mainly a fun place to converse about dramas but it won't really let somoene know if a drama is popular or not. A very popular drama in China was Crime Crackdown but if u look it up here on MDL it didn't really get that many views. You would have to check weibo to understand if a Chinese drama is popular or not.

That is the one thing that baffled me - like u can't even say she was too afraid to tell her parents she didn't want to marry because she was okay with telling them about her crazy plan in front of CHJ's mother. Her own brother was in shock as well. Idk what is going through her head - kind of feel bad for CHJ at this moment. He has a sick mother and she just playing with his life

Definitely not overrated - I just think on MDL there is some kind of bug that they didn't update newly released dramas or something. There are 2 other dramas that were released this week and I don't see them either so who knows what is going on lol.

But I know right now Where Dreams Begin is #1 on almost all charts so its doing great.

Does that 1 eyed thug have memory loss? Or did he just forget that he was the one that initiated the fight with XCS by trying to jump him on the street? He would never have gotten stabbed as well if he wasn't choking CHJ out. So, he just upset because he won a dumb prize after playing a dumb game -_-. Now he thinks he can just stab people as well because he didn't like the dumb prize he won SMH

She definitely deserved that talk with XCS. He was the only one that saw past her actions but even I am surprised she would do something like that. Why take such a huge risk just so u could break off an engagement. Like, XCS said, if oen thing went wrong CHJ would be dead and all because she didn't want to marry someone. She played with someones life rather than just talk to her parents. Which is crazy to me because she was okay telling them that she faked that entire thing just so she could break off the engagement in front of CHJ's mom as well. I am just like. . . so u couldn't talk to ur parents about breaking off the engagement but ur cool with telling them how u planned this sexual harassment charge and put an innocent man in prison? WILD!

In the newly released episodes - YF tells XCS that she doesn't like him but she feels comfortable around him. Which I dont think means she has a crush on him but just doesn't hate him. Can say she feels he is a good friend to her. I think she didn't want to stay engaged with CT because she knew his family would not allow her to continue her studies and do the things she wanted. They would hinder her from her future that she desperately has been waiting for once the political circumstances get better.

I am just hoping she gets to grow into loving him but what she did to him was wrong in every aspect. She threw him under the bus just so she could break off an engagement - she risked his life. Idk if anyone would do that to someone they actually loved.

HHL is 19 so everyone is probably around that age or in their early 20s.

I don't think she realizes he thinks she is the girl from the library. But I AGREE.

What about HHl did he think she was reading enlish books and stuff? Dude is a horrible detective lol. And I feel for Xiaomei having to watch the guy that is supposed to love her but he is instead falling for someone else. He better be a million times more amazing to her compared to HHL. He has a lot to makeup for

Take back what I said about Chen Hong Jun - even though he made a stupid mistake. It seems he just really liked Ye Fang and wanted to help her. I felt a bit for him when he looked at Ye Fang not knowing if she liked him or not :(. Please be good to CHJ!

Disappointed in Chen Hong Jun and Ye Fang. Idk why CHJ went along wtih YF's plan - did he not think of his sick mother or his own life? He could have been killed if the plan didn't go exactly as planned. What would he do about his mother? Leave her all alone and hope XCS tends to her.

Ye Fang the biggest disappointment of all. I get that she didn't want to get married but was there no other way except for accusing someone of sexual assault? That was a very selfish move that had no care for someone elses life.

LOL, agreed! I think republican era outfit would be amazing but who knows when he will do a drama like that. Still waiting for his villain role lol

Me too! I think that style is probably my favorite - XZ in that style would be amazing. He is good looking in this bland color palette outfit styling already. I feel he would KILL IT with the republican styling for sure. But I won't lie I prefer that he just does Costume dramas all the time lol.. A sucker for the wig lol.

Not 100% sure but definitely older than high school age and even college entry age. I would probably say 20 years old or more. But less than 22. But just taking a guess in the dark lol

So, in a sense a lot of communities are like the ones in WDB nothing really modernized and everyone working hard labor jobs and no real type of white collar jobs. I think the only semi white collar job I heard mentioned was from Ye Guo Hua's mother who worked in the propaganda office - but idk how much u could call that white collar.

Was it? Even worse. Since that is 60 years of almost no progress? Even going backwards. Really goes to show how much regression happened in the 70s. The 1910s at least had nice outfits and stuff - especially for the men

I know that. But I think they are celebrating the advancement they had after the dark times of no college exams and no advancement of any kind. Even the drama is showing how hard it is for the people during those times - I am guessing in the future episodes when those restrictions get lifted those are the things they are happy with and want to celebrate.

Ahhh that makes sense. A dictator afraid of progressive people in case it collides with his own ideas. It is insane because I have watched other tv dramas like Arsenal Military Academy and watching this it just shows how far back they really went. It almost feels like the same time period or even further back. But ASA was during WW2 I believe so the 40s. And the fact that the 70s seem less advanced than that time it is just insane.

But is that time period celebrated? I can't imagine it being so - it brought them back decades of advancement.
