He Rufei is straight up a villainous psychopath, no remorse,no guilt, manipulative and narcissistic to the point that no one - literally no one and nothing has a meaning but his own goals and ideals , he is extremely jealous of He Yan ,has a disturbing degree of low confidence - always in a 📏 measurement contest with anyone cause obviously he was isolated and stuff ,but he is like EVIL - straight up EVIL Chu Zhao made a choice between dying and survival , whole extremely manipulative too ,Chu Zhao still has some feelings of regret, guilt but mostly he is too desperate to live well and on his long way to take revenge for all the pain he went through for no reason- like that scene with Xu Pingtin ( Xu Jingfu's daughter) - she slapped her maid for letting a blossom fall of a flower,and felt nothing but anger cause apparently her maid embarrassed by letting a petal fall off a flower- she is so vain can't, basically CZ is used like a doll -objectified ,used and abused ,and he made his choice but it's still sad ( like Yingxing's story made me cry )
