Okay, here's my bit of ragebate - -ZY as He Yan is not a typically feminine look her body type ,he features- she has a heroic aura,while her features are slim , they aren't exactly what most dramas or just beauty standards go for the "beautiful woman " - I love her ,I love characters, with proper styling she can play both feminine or masculine style - Also I dare you to tell me that half of the ml population of doramas AREN'T prettier than any woman in a crowd I DARE YoU -CZ is so pretty, canonically or not , he is more gentile pretty to XY masculine pretty - This Is Not a dramatic cinematography - the level of "Seriousness" that some of you compare it to - The Double ,The Glory while enjoyable,not only was the setting and FL entirely different vibe ,but it was so heavy literally breathing was supposed to be dramatic, Journey to West , My Journey to You ,Love like the Galaxy _ all of these types of drama have that "we are all very serious people in a very serious situations doing very serious stuff " thing going on. -Legend of the Female General is an adaptation, while highly anticipated by fans , it doesn't have that clout that more pop idol drama productions have - we can tell they had to make a lot of cuts , even simple bloody /violent scenes for fluffied up -ep 1 HY'death ,ep 2-3 - during that pit fall after fighting with the wolves , originally He Yan fell into the pit with an alive wolf who literally tore her arm and leg so badly,she couldn't move for two months, ep 8-9 HY fighting scenes with Ding Yi was dulled , especially the blood scenes , that scene when XJ is cleaning HY's wound,it was literally a splash of red liquid - -the point of this entire rant is , PLEASE - if you are here to support the actors,to support the original novel and the author of the story ,just here to enjoy another drama - Please let yourself enjoy. This isn't the 100/10 production some might aspire to - this is a drama that really took a lot of patience and work even if the results aren't what some would approve . I love this story and I love the actors playing their part in this adaptation, I enjoy the silly scenes , tear up at sad ones , guffaw at ridiculous set ups with low-key wuxia stunts and admire the freshly cut and sewn uniforms the soldiers wear stuck supposedly in the middle of nowhere with no washing machine or iron. I actually appreciate that the actors are not made up to the point that I can't ignore their contours and eyeliners and finely tailored clothes . - I want to support this drama ,I want to come here everyday,share my excitement and along with you all share my experience watching this drama ; not even a day later since premier between hilarious and amazing reviews and comments ,there is a barrage of pure negativity,so I take a moment and try to log back in with a clear mind and clearer notification bar. I know we all understand when something can and can't be done to a standard,but please (even if this for nothing) , let's be kinder,at least to our own nerves (our poor,poor nerves ) 🫰 --Reminder: this is a rant ,and wannabe ragebate cause over the different platforms obviously people have different opinions,but as a fan I stake my claim to being unreasonable so here we are 😘 Also , I honestly love sharing this experience of watching one of my story come to life along with you all 🥰🥰🥰

I get it , tbh if I hadn't read the novel, the editing is too fast-paced especially when there's so much to show bit it 36ep/30 min - there are dramas where this isn't an issue . I think it's because of the whole scandal, they had to really cut some loses , especially with like a lot of editing cause literally simple scene setting lacks a more vibrant editing, the stills vs the scenes really catches me at times . But I feel that by the latest episode (ep 9 ) ,they finally gave us a breather. I wish they had more liberty and a lot less censorship problems cause the main cast is really well matched ( I think 😁 ) and the adapted plotline, considering that this is still low-key wuxia (martial arts +cultivator notes ) is pretty good, the characters are well set and everything is just fine -only I feel a little bit of heartache cause I feel they tried their best but with everything going, they literally were dealt a rather tricky hand .

Yes and no I guess 😅 She is strategizing even when just walking through a room or passing a person - she is a genius in her field, facing anyone she automatically plans 3-5 steps ahead ,like playing 5d chess not even consciously at this point. She uses others perception of her as an easy-going, laid-back happy personality a lot - rarely lets her emotions take over ,plus she rather be happy than sad - well until she has some heads to count,then all hats and heads are off 🤣🤣 She is playing pretend in so many ways ,but also inherently she is a very resilient person - she tries her best even when in the worst of circumstances, doesn't let herself dwell on things ( especially things she can't change ) which obviously catches up to her every once in a while, she doesn't really trust anyone and rarely if ever acknowledges or expresses her real emotions and even when sad , won't let herself feel self-pity,like she'll joke around and try to make it sound silly I cried so many times reading her inner monologue and memories ❤️🩹❤️🩹
