Thanks for the article. You have a couple of works I personally disliked, but I do agree on 'Giant', 'Salaryman', 'Lifting King Kong' and 'Descendants of Hong Gil Dong'. I'd also suggest 'Surgeon Bong Dal Hee' and 'Au Revoir UFO', plus a few more. And if one can handle the show's eventual loss of its way, 'Prime Minister and I', because of his great performance there.
I just hope his next drama will be a good one, because he's been stuck in a few disappointing productions after 'Salaryman'. Especially 'Triangle', where he was royally wasted. But for now, he has a couple of movies happening, so let him take his time and pick out a good one.

Thanks for taking the time to post this, but the subtitles are terrible. Just a word of caution to folks who want to watch it properly, that they would still have to wait.
Perhaps if they let creators with fresh ideas actually realize them and did not take over and turn everything from crime thrillers to rom-coms into makjang messes or cliche filled snooze-fests, dramas would do better. You can't have fresh stuff and try to shove them in the same template as the old.
Makjang sells, soaps sell, so either stick to that and stop ruining people's ideas by giving them timeslots and then interfering or take the plunge and follow through. The issue with this year is that we had many fresh ideas all knocked back down to the acceptable formula, leaving both those who love their older style and those who want new approaches disappointed.
Add to that the incredibly flawed filming system and equally flawed evaluation one and of course things aren't going well. And unless some issues are addressed in many parts of this industry, they will only get worse for dramas that do not fit the ratings-friendly criteria. But perhaps a total meltdown and reconstruction will do them good. I'm sure all the talent will find ways. If they do not exist, they will make them.
This drama is starring 3 guys. But is one of them the centre of the attention? or it's equally about the 3 of…
It's not the main focus here, so despite some nice elements (lack of noble idiocy, lack of the male lead being a jerk and more), it also does not get much development and is more just there after a certain point. This show really did poorly on all topics it tried to tackle. Promising start, but it never picked up in pace or plot development.
But beyond that, I cannot be sure whether you will like it or not. If you are a fan of Jae Joong, it will help a lot, since his is the only character somewhat developed and not boring, although he suffers after the midpoint too.

The first half pretty much ignores the youngest brother aside from his crush on the female lead and pettiness over that and second half almost entirely abandons the oldest brother. The only one actually getting some form of consistent development is the middle one. If you're looking for brotherly interaction, an epic tale of reunion and revenge and a compelling story for them all, this is sadly not the series to deliver it.
I think this is a drama suitable for those who like the genre. For those who like thrillers, suspense and dramas…
Those who have no interest in the genre, yes. They wouldn't like it at all.
I meant those who do have interest, but have not watched a lot of works like this would like it more than those who have more experience with such works.
Since the latter have likely seen much better attempts and would therefore see all its shortcomings and find little to enjoy in it.

I love thrillers, revenge stories, suspense and darker works, but the writing here is very bad, so I cannot really feel much for the characters beyond what their actors can manage.
The writer is not good with intimate relationships and interactions. Too business-focused, but wearing a brotherly bonding and revenge story colored suit.
So I think those who like style over substance would appreciate it, but those looking for good writing and a really good exploration and development of the premise will be disappointed.
But it depends on what one considers thorough exploration and whether they are mainly drama fans or also movie fans and have experience with these types of works when done right. I actually believe that if they have little contact with the genre, they are far more likely to like it than if they do.
Please don't waste your time on this drama just because you like the idols in it. This is soooo boring and absolutely…
I agree people who find the premise interesting should try it, since we never know what others will like. But quality-wise, it's pretty messy.
I really would not recommend it as a good drama to anyone other than those interested in Jae Joong, if my opinion on it was asked.
But beyond that, it's not up to anyone to tell others what to like or what to watch a drama for. It's their time and their choice which opinions to take into account.
I stopped around episode 8 because I got bored. If you're up to date with this drama do you think it's worth continuing?
I agree. Other than Jae Joong's lovely performance, there is really more bad here than good. Wasted potential, the good cast is horribly misused and the family is really not the focus. The brothers barely interact.
If you want a "separated siblings" revenge-themed series that actually does its premise justice, watch 'Giant'.
If you are a Jae Joong fan though, definitely watch this. As bad as it is, his work here is great and will get him well earned offers in the future.
okay I need help. Maybe the answer is in here somewhere but I can't find it. Does anyone know the name of the…
I think so too. He doesn't come off as stiff at all and he has a memorable presence. For a first drama, this is pretty impressive already, even if his role does not require heavy acting.
Somebody better explain to Jung Hee soon that Young Dal said those things to keep the kidnappers from harming…
This. This is why I hated it. The woman's feelings were only as important as what they could achieve for the man-pain during the abduction scenes.
Then she was also suddenly dumbed down and made petty, just to make our poor hero seem misunderstood and poor poor hot man, swoon over him, viewers, for the mean girl is torturing his feels.
It's a classic disrespectful and shallow drama trope, which is usually nothing out of the ordinary in this medium, but it is happening in a drama which so far had written quite an interesting female lead and it is happening in the worst of possible ways.
Jung Hee mattered, she had a life outside of "oppa", she had her own values, her own problems, her own virtues. Even if as shallow as the rest of the characters here and this work in general, for its level, she was paid attention. But now, let's go down to woman-as-pinball land and get some draaamaaa and jealousy and "on noes!" going.
Do you guys know Ko ChungJa's (that mean girl in the Casino) name or any other drama she was in ??? I've seen…
I remember seeing someone mention her as playing another despicable character somewhere, but do not remember who it was that said it or what show they were talking about. If I hear anything, I'll tell you. Tried finding her name, no luck.
I can't believe there are people who actually skip scenes. You are not worthy of the superior artistic medium…
Not sure if brilliant joke or unfair chastising. I will go with the former.
But if it is the latter, people have every right to reject what they don't like. If they don't see something worth their trouble, they do not respect it enough to give it their full time and attention. It's fair.
I dislike it too, since I believe works need to be watched in full to really get the whole picture, be it good or bad, but I also understand not everyone has the same attachment to their entertainment or all the time.
And dramas like 'Triangle' really do test someone's patience.
8 episodes in, barely anything but a hint of a crush. The only one who sealed the deal had the most rushed confession scene. So if you want proper romance, this is not the series, nope.
It's a melodrama. Not a very moving one so far, but that is what they call it. It's right up there on the description too.
Pretty mediocre so far, but that Lee Bum Soo rage is glorious.
Mini-Hulk Dong Soo + props = Double the fun. Poor guy. He is fighting with a disorder and here we are, enjoying every minute of his pain. But it really is glorious.
I have some question that may sound weird - is jaejoong the male lead here? or is it lee beum soo? it seems to…
I do not think someone having another job is what determines their skill level. Considering Song has spent an entire career focused on acting and not managing to improve and how quickly Jae Joong is improving, my money's on Jae Joong in terms of potential, even though he clearly lacks the experience Song has.
I find Song quite down to Earth in his approach to stardom and he seems like a nice guy, but I do find his acting quite bad. At least that is my assessment from what I have seen of his work. I may have just come across his very bad ones.
For 'Triangle' I am personally happy they went with Jae Joong. Although I would have chosen neither him or Song to begin with, but between the two and for this role, I do prefer the current one. As long as he can carry the more heavy parts later on. That remains to be seen.

It's his first drama, so he probably does not exist in the MDL database.
