DFQC & Chidi woman have "true" Immortal bodies that can hold Tai Su/his power/his evilness, possibly without slowly disintergrating/aging??? Destroying the body however wont destroy Tai Su...Except XLH had left her loving "magical" fingerprints all over DFQC's heart tree and Emotional Sea. His innermost self was completely "tainted" with the power of the Goddess. This allowed him to trap TaiSu inside him in a way no one else could, so when DFQC died, so would Tai Su. XLH needed to get inside Tai Su's shield, and then inside DFQC's innerself to then destroy them both. Their kiss unlocked her full powers as the Goddess, and DFQC gained the ability to summon Glazed fire instead of Hellfire, but I think more importantly, it woke DFQC up so he could tell XLH to kill him, and give her the window to do so.
MY headcannon is on DFQC's 'death', it was her trace magic inside him that then allowed the fragments of his soul to survive death as the moon "seed", which XLH nurtured until he came back.
They said the wedding can unlock both party's full powers, not just CH's. The subtitles were wrong. Since they…
I agree. The Bloodline linking they keep talking about keeps mentioning that Chang Heng is part of the Dong line, while ignoring the fact that Dong Fang Qing Cang also has Dong in his name. Given the Moon Tribe split from the Immortals, I wouldn't be surprised if Dong Fang is also a descendant of the same bloodline. Said without knowing if the characters used for Dong (Immortal site) and DFQC are the the same or not. :P Also possibly why DFQC unlocked LuiLi (Glazed) Fire.
I have another important random question hahaOn *that scene*, the thunder punishment scene, was that really Dylan's…
It's a pretty standard thing before any guys do shirtless scenes, they work out and also sometimes diet, don't drink water, to get as lean as possible. Dieting/No liquids minimises fluid retention, and working out ,I think, makes the muscles (temporarily) swell up due to the increased bloody supply for oxygenation. So for the day of the shoot, the actors look leaner & more muscular, and are probably also dehydrated and starving.
Who do I need to kill to get the track for Rong Hao's absolutely gorgeous flute piece??? I love the sound track, but I really *NEED* that flute track!!! 😍😍😍
Up to ep 12, and I still can't tell if Yue Xuan knows Wen's a girl or not. The fact I don't trust the translation when it comes to pronouns doesn't help, since they seem to get them wrong 50% of the time. It doesn't help that YueXuan by nature is sly'er than a fox, and more smug. 🤣🤣🤣 However, so far the general banter, comradery and silliness is utterly endearing.
Also, I agree about WL's portrayal of LBY in the first few episodes. Definitely think he loosens up *a lot* with…
I think LBY's initial frozen portrayal makes sense, and WL's good enough at those subtle micro expressions that I never saw him as a complete block of ice. Those little eye crinkles and lip twitches sometimes say far more than outright laughter can. I also like how he's completely out of his depth in actually dealing with SS. She doesn't want anything from him initially, and despite intellectually knowing that, he still treats her in someways, like all the other brainless idiots that were throwing themselves at him...Ugh, I think my morning coffee boost just ran out! . . . I think in the end it's a story about very flawed people, still trying to do the best they can to be family to each other.
I mostly agree with your review (I usually do - and your reviews are always wonderfully written). It was a strange…
I also feel far more empathetic towards the mother than I normally do. For me, I can see ShangShang comes across as what would probably count as nearly clinically depressed in a modern era, and her mother is faced with a mirror image of herself at that age, but without any of the support or training she'd had...and YuanYi doesn't know how to deal with that! It's why ShangShang can hit *all* of YuanYi's button's without even trying, sending her mother into fits of frustrated anger. I also think that ridiculous court putdown was meant to come from a place of genuine terror on YuanYi's part. She suddenly had visions of ShangShang doing something impetuous in front of the Emperor and getting herself a death sentence, or worse yet, the entire family. I actually think YuanYi's one of the most nuanced portrayals of a mother Ive yet seen from any CDrama. I've gone from nearly absolutely despising her, to really appreciating to vagaries of the character, and i'm still not entirely sure why. None of them are perfect, with maybe the exception of the Emperor and his two wives, all perfectly adorable and ridiculous. I think the one character I still want to occasionally dump in the sea is the Grandmother, and sometimes YangYang for being such a wet blanket.
I don't... especially close to the ending. she's foolish to say the least. People may say she's just sentimental…
Oh Good. Glad it's not just me. How did this rate so highly with such a flimsy excuse for a FL??? She should have been killed off any number of times for the sheer incompetence she constantly displays. The Emperor having the hots for her is the only reason shes still breathing, and she doesn't deserve to. How anyone be allowed into the palace in *any* kind of position of authority or responsiblity with that level of ignorance is beyond me. I'm also sure if the Emperor were a "smidge" more like pretty much *every* other Emperor in *any* other palace drama, she would have been dead 10 times over. ...and I'm only part way through ep 4 where she just openly defied the Emperor and grabbed his sleeve, only to rip it off. And he *just* banished her? 🙄🙄🙄
If you have the hots for someone with that little intelligence, awareness and thoughtfullness, just make her a concubine. She has no actual potential to be a useful tool or weapon, unless its a very shortlived expendible one.
Like I get some drama's need a level of suspension of disbelief, but I'm not sure I can actually survive if I turn off that much of my higher brain function. Like does she actually get a clue at any point? I think this is my 3rd or 4th time trying to watch this series...
Hmm, this has been on my list for a while, and I'd forgotten Liu Rui Lin was in it. Looks like he's bulked up a bit, and I'm not minding it. Also Jeremy Tsui looks annoyingly familiar, and I'm sure I've seen him in something else, but looking at his drama listing says otherwise... I kinda hope that's his real voice tho, because....Damnnnnn.....😍😍😍
That thing where Kang Ki Young's Attorney Jung kinda stealthed in and started stealing the sexy* from Kang Tae Oh's Jung Hoo. I've just started ep 15, and it currently feels like so far, he's had more of a character arc than Lee Jung Hoo. Attorney Jung dropped the potential arseholish boss in the first ep, but then slowly also grew into Young Woo's most stalwart supporter, and a surprisingly gentle and supportive friend and mentor. For a character who started out somewhat negative, and slightly gormless, he's grown amazingly well... * - Shhhhh, I'm probably older than you, so don't judge me! 🤣🤣🤣
Suicide as a mortal sin is an idea that definitely needs to be taken out back and shot. Since it places all the blame on the victim, and none on the society that pushed the person to that point.
Its a stellar cast, and the basic premise is interesting, but at ep 3, & I already have a feeling I'm going to be resisting the urge to reach through the screen and bitchslap the hell out of some of these characters.
..I want a Shang Que, Such a *pretty* dragon!!!, and between Charles Lin as Shang Que and Dylan Wang's Yuchi Longyan, I could have both Black & White grumpy dragons!!! 🤣🤣🤣

7 Eps in and I'm getting the urge to dump a bucket of cold water over Si Young and tell her to get a grip. She keeps trying to attach herself onto YoHan like a particularly pathetic limpet, and he keeps trying to (far too gently) shake her loose. I get she has a bundle of issues, but constantly trying to put Yo Han onto a pedastal isn't the answer. He keeps trying to teach her to be a better Doctor, and she keeps rewarding him by following him around like a we blanket and ironically, failing to see him as an actual flawed human being. He's either a monster, saint, hero or patient to her. Instead of what he actually is, a supremely determined, intelligent, highly competent Doctor with a better than average understanding of what it is to be human. Her constant overreaction to anything he does, also shows how little faith she has in him. Also there's getting emotionally invested in your patients, and then there's wallowing in your own emotions. Which is what she really seems to do with YoHan. ///rant
I'll keep watching, because Ji Sung's Cha Yo Han is great, and Hwang Hee's Lee Yoo Joon is a ball of sunshine and common sense. And I'm not an instant and auto BL shipper, but in this case, I think Yo Han and Yoo Joon would be a better partner for each other... Cause those sisters have *waaay* too much baggage!!!
It was poetic in a way that mountain punished the killer.
The killer was too canny to put himself in danger before that. It wasn't until he was exposed as the killer, that he totally lost control and stopped being careful of his surroundings. He drove into the danger zone, but because he believed the mountain was on his side, he didn't pay attention to all the warning signs. Both literal signs and the small rock falls that happened before the bigone. If he hadn't been right in the path of a potential rockfall, then the mountain couldn't have done anything.
I know KDrama's can be light on the whole PDA, but I think the audience deserved at least a little hand holding after all that damn angst between the two leads!!!
Yeah, that would do it.
