This show feels like, even if it does make you cry... you'll see it coming, and it will hold your hand and wrap you in a warm blanket afterwards. It's slow, and gentle, and all about normal people living normal lives. While also being a love letter to the countryside around Lake Erhai in the Yunnan province. Which was *already* on my list of places I want to visit. The characters are sweet, and a quirky and adorable. I was *completely* engrossed from the first few minutes of the first episode, and that rarely happens for me.
It didn't get "straightened" out!!! They kept the queer subtext. Tho's its honestly its so loud its basically context!!! Also ZBB as the massively introverted grumpy hacker boy, with ZYC as the adorable super fluffy twink is the cutest ever.
I just finished the drama and I'm greatly disappointed. there was nothing noteworthy in the whole drama. It was…
Nothing noteworthy??? I just hit episode 4, and the CP is raging against the Ministers, noting they control all the wealth, but are trying to foist taxes, which they don't pay, off onto the poor. They have women standing up and trying to asset their right to be more than breeding machines. Comments about education over supersition, ect. This might be a light and fluffy romcom on the top. But it's against a background of some pretty pointed and, unfortunately, still current topics.
Happy I saw your comment. Won't be watching this then
I was already fast forwarding through that whole pretty boy auction for the cringe factor...China really does *so* fucking badly on race issues... They should stick to making that one lone white dude they use in everything, the butt of tacky foreigner jokes. At least that's not punching down.
It's open ending, if you want it to be a happy ending then it's. It's open to interpretation ^^
Heh, that being said, I also did a *lot* of fast forwarding through bits because it really wallowed in all the wrong areas... But any DYQ LYS scenes where always worth watching. Actually watching Wang Yang in any scene as LYS was always worth it.
Yang Yang uses his own voice. Lusi does too. Fun fact, though, Yang Yang portrayed YeHua/MoYuan in the movie version.
Oh definitely....but I also now have his voice firmly locked in my head *as* Ye Hua's voice. 🤣😭🤣 It fits Yang Yangs character here well enough, and I think he's close enough to Yang Yangs own voice. But I've heard him used on another couple of characters in other drama's where I *know* they don't sound like that, and it really throws me.

The incontext setup of that last scene, doesn't really suggest he dies...even as much as it hints to in the rest of the last two episodes. Normally they add effects to suggest a life after death scene. Super bright/saturated colours, or a blurry or hazy effect. That last clinic scene just looked *very* ...mundane. Not to mention that DYQ was still speaking of his determination to find the KM. Not about any past regrets or such. I think we're meant to think he survive the collapse and figured out how to open the star lock to get out again...Then spent 3 months waiting for the low tide to arrive again. I adored the main characters, with the exception of Fengling who was a waste of space. Even the annoying step brother was more useful that her, and he was pretty useless. But the plot definitely could have been ...condensed.

Yeah. I thought I reciognised their voice. 🤣 AvenueX has a great video she did on why there is so much voice dubbing in CDRama's. She's also why I now recognise the Bian Jiang (边江) as the voice actor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcRYGmzcWv8
Up to ep 17, and if this wasn't a cdrama, I'd think there was a cute lil gay romance between Hao Mei and KO...🥰🥰🥰 but it is, so I wont hold my breathe! 😭😭😭
OMG... the amount of shameless pure *cheese* they pour over the screen whenever Park Jin and Kim Do Ju come on screen together & start flirting delights me!!! Both characters are so totally ridiculously adorable!
Are they using the same voice actor as they used for Mark Chao in Eternal Love, because I'm getting mad Ye Hua, Mo Yuan vibes from Yang Yang. Not helped by the fact that he really looks like Ye Hua in the white robes with his hair down when he's sick. 🤣🥰🤣
This drama's acting from both leads are lacking a lot coming from someone just finished immortal samsara where…
Well, yes. Immortal Samsara is an entirely different thing. Don't expect the same kind of vibe as IS from this series. For one Cheng Yi kinda rocks that *intense* and quiet sort of character, where as Zhang Bin Bin seems to do better with the more laid back, happy go lucky type. You're doing the series a disservice if you're expecting the same kind of actory/story telling/vibe that was in another series.
Fluffy - yes, but not too sure about the acting,,, I only watched a few episodes, so there's room for convincing…
4 Eps in and ZBB's character doesn't seem to bad. Sweet, charming, bit of a rogue, bit of trouble, all round far softer touch than he think's he is. The two leads seem to have decent chemistry together. Xu Lu's FL is nice and feisty to match. I'm enjoying it.
14 eps in, and the FF button is getting alot of work outs so far...but I enjoy watching Xu Kai and Wang Yang face off. I wouldn't mind the girls being a *little* less cluelessly optimistic...Tho Zhang Xin Yu's Cui Yan Zhi almost makes up for that.
Oh ... Well, that was an ending... . . . It really didn't need those last 3 eps. They truly felt like needless filler, and useless tear jerker bait. ...And honestly that last few minutes make it feel like *less* of a, actual happy ending, after every one's emotions had resolved to deal with the bittersweet ending.
someone should make a compilation of the doctor getting beat up
Hehehee....I have to admit, my preferred happy ending definitely would have included him and the "Representative" getting eaten, or defenestrated ( I love that word).
