Ok, *Everyones* voice sounds wierd and tinny in this. I hope it resolves, but otherwise, that going to make watching this hard. Sound issues seem to have fixed themselves after a few eps, thankfully!

This!!!!! I'm trying to watch both LoP, & this and its just ...Urgh. He's got a gorgeous voice, let him keep it. Also the voice actor they have for this isn't even as good as the LoP one. The voice feels off compared to XZX's acting. There's whole worlds of nuance in his expression that aren't coming across with this voice actor they got.

..And then you go watch the behind the scenes stuff, and he seems to be the biggest dork on set, ever!

I'm not judging by american physiques, and when other chinese cast members are worried about a lead actors weight, I get the feeling it's not just me. Also this isn't an actors constant weight. I've watched as some of my favourite actors have suddenly lost weight and look noticably ...gaunt. and not because they needed to play a starved character. It's not what I would call a healthy trend.

I'm just going to say that is Li Yi Feng wants to prioritise his health over loosing weight just to make rabid fans happy, then ....I'm all for the actor staying healthy! Also China's obsession with their actors looking borderline anorexic ... not a good look.

The way QJJ moves, and does things like casually jump around on one leg without even sweating, makes me wonder how much he's been working out to make it look so easy!

Damn!! ... Li Yi Feng, Cheng Yi, Ren Jiu Lun & Liu Xue Yi all on screen nearly at once? Be still my beating heart!!! If you can add Qin Jun Jie & Tong MengShi as well I'd die *very* happy!!! That is a stupendous amount of pretty all at once. 🤣😍🤣

That's interesting, because it actually feels pretty refreshing to me. Wuxia is my favourite genre by far, but alot of them recently are feeling a bit like Hollywood movies. Very slick and shiny on the surface, but not much else going on.

Yeah, I was getting strong vibes of Nan Lan not coping/knowing what to do with her daughter. While both the men absolutely adored her.

To be fair to Nan Lan, I think she is just a spoilt rich kid, who saw her father murdered in front of her & also nearly died.
She doesn't really understand Miao's world/worldview/life. I think she didn't just choose GuiNong, but also the far more luxious life that she had been used to.
I also wonder if she was struggling with just being a mother. Seeing how often they seemed to show Roulan crying with her. GuiNong's one redeeming feature, was that I think he did truly adore Roulan...but kiddo is so better off with her Dad!!!

I love BaiLu, but the ML looks and acts like he's 10... and I'm struggling to find any reason to keep watching. Maybe I'll finish out the 3rd ep and see how it goes.

I dont care. I loved it.
After alllll the angst and drama, it had a nice fluffy everyone together moment.
Also the Emperor's grumpy outrage was hilarious.
It was also completely consistant with the overall story vibe. This drama has always been about family. Lightening heavy dramatic moments with moments of levity and warmth within the various families, from the Cheng's to the Emperor's.

..But still kinda adorable in his cluelessness. And I agree, must protecc the fluffy puppeh!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, while I do appreciate the end look, I'd be happier if actors didn't need to starve or risk dehydration just to appeal to western ideals of masculinity. I don't need actors to risk their health like that.
