Ditto. I really did want to see them together outside of the game, beyond a flashback. Actually I kinda wanted all four of them to do something mundane like wander in a park together for a brief scene...😭😍😍

The miss communication part is pretty short. It doesn't go on too long.
I enjoyed it and its worth a watch if you like Liu XueYi. He's as his best when he's playing a shit stirring, charismatic troublemaker. Plus at 24 eps, it doesn't really have to much time to drag on. Keeps everything short and sweet.

They were both drugged in the past, hence why neither of them could clearly remember their first meeting. He had hints, but no confirmation until the end. Also LuiLi is an ex assassin. She wasn't raised as a dainty noble lady, but rather a killing machine. Gentle isn't her default...and Haoran *was* being extremely thick. Music was about normal for any dramas

Definitely! From the get go, they outright told us there wasn't going to be a super happy ending. But I was still pleasantly surprised it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. All the people we were forwarned were going to die did. I think Di FeiJing was the only slightly surprising one. I was happily surprised that Zhu XiaoYao & Yang WuXie survived til the end. Tho I do wonder what became of the kid?

The ending is a bit bittersweet, but that was fairly obvious early on. It still ends on a fairly upbeat note however.

Not going to lie, but shit stirring smart arses, who are also hyper competent are totally my thing, and here I get two of them. Also that early 30's and all out of fuxs...is very relatable...ehh, I'm pretty sure I was 33 when that hit me as well.
Also, I hate her mother. She's one of the *worst* examples of toxic parents I've ever seen. She's a perfect example of why some kids need to divorce their parents! "I'm miserable with my life, hence I will do my best to make sure my daughters life is every bit as bad!" ARGH!!!

Zhang Ruo Yun & Wang Yang are a pair I can never tire of watching on screen...

He's a pretty chatty, charming troublemaker for the most part in Sword Dynasty as well, also in Tientsin Mystic, which was were I first saw him.

I think earlier commenters were calling this a "slice of life" drama, which fits. It doesn't have the massive emotional ups and downs of a melodrama. It's much smoother and gentler, more like a carosel, than a rollercoaster. :D

Good ending...and I enjoyed this series overall. Doubtful I'll ever rewatch, except specific scenes if I'm in the mood. The characters greatest obstacles where themselves. Outside forces only helped them united long enough to overcome their own issues and force them to communicate.

Why ZBB's character hasn't pushed YSX's character off a cliff yet for being such an annoying, cloying, manipulative brat yet, I truly do not know. I'm only at ep 9, and I get that things might get better, but it's *really* testing my love for these actors to keep watching such an annoying character, And her mother.
Before even leaving the university, I'd have tagged her for stalking & sexual harrasment...
The fact that Zhuang Yu can see thru Yu Mei Ren's act, and seems to be falling for her, or the real her she keeps hiding, doesn't mitigate the fact that he's getting involved with someone who's primary response to his presence is to lie, harrass and manipulate him. Not to even *once* think about being open and honest with him.

Esther(YSX) is fine, it's just this role is really atrocious... The fake diabetic inducing manipulative sweetness is really nauseating. When he character drops that and is her 'normal' self, its fine, but the fake super sweetness is ...gross.
Her entire actions, if they were being performed by a guy would be recognised as manipulative and outright stalking, but because it's a "sweet, innocent little girl" its considered "cute".
I like ZBB & YSX, but I am really spending alot of time FFing...Especially with the mother. I really *hate* that "must get married!!!" mentality, combined with that petty neighbourhood rivalry.
Stop using your children as a status boost to crow over your neighbours!

It wasn't about morally right, it was about how it was his job. The line in the sand that says soul shifters are *all* a danger to society, no matter what, because they will loose control and drain innocents of their life sooner or later...And I don't think Jang Uk knew at that point that Naksu had been controlled, and hadn't just lost control as everyone thought. So Naksu wasn't the exception, rather at that stage she could still be considered by him the very reason why they couldn't continue...Why he wanted to feign ignorance.

If you don't want a show to come after big western fantasy drama's, then you don't want anyone to produce a fantasy drama that isn't from the west. Also I feel it's pretty narrow to hold a KDrama up to western fantasy standards, without noting that so very many western fantasy drama's also flopped before they became mainstream. Not to mention how many have their own issues...
It's a learning process, and I think Korea's learning at an amazing speed.

I adore grumpy Jang Uk, and petty Go Won sniping and bitching at each other...Like an old married couple.
