Just very amused. Ep 5 and she's playing the quzheng(?), and I think that's the *first* time, in 2* years and about 130 chinese drama's that it actually looks like she's really playing the instrument...and not just randonly plucking (normally *very* loose) strings. With the notable exception of Our Shining Days. 🤣🤣🤣
Not a bad romance drama. Less revenge, more finding out the truth. Good cast of very capable actors, and an Okish plot, which mostly suffers from from bad editing and poorly paced plot than anything else. Midway the story gets a bit jumpy and eps feel a bit disjointed due to the bad editing. They possibly could have cut some of the fluff from the first half and had more time for the plot in the second half. The actors and their chemistry is amazing, for the most part. The only character I didn't really feel was baby brother Su XiangTai. His acting was a bit...wooden. But that was a minor issue compared to everyone else knocking it out of the park.
I'll keep it real. This drama HAD potential but towards the end it became... weird.Couple things...1. The summary…
It was all there, but I think it suffered from bad pacing and shitty editing. Gao Mu and Uncle Zhang began screwing with SuYi's memories as a kid, as a test to do the same thing to SuYi's mother, because Gao Mu was obsessed with her. It gets missed because thats pretty much the only time SuYi's mum is ever mentioned for more than a split second is at the very end there. I don't think we even know her name. SuYi' was a test subject until her father found out, and in trying to rescue her, he got into the car crash, and Gao Mu & Zhang completely wiped her memory and sent her to Japan. Until Zhang sent her the magazine cover hoping to trigger her memories back and prove himself a genius...🙄🙄🙄
- We had one short break up ("noble idiocy"), but got resolvedreally fast 1-2 eps.. 2nd couple also had short…
Considering the amount of on screen kissing that normally happens in a CDrama, this was a welcome change. Also, Zheng He playing a loooong game there, digging in behind enemy lines. I admit to being a bit worried there, but glad to see they all worked it out.
can someone tell me what the ML has with the FL accident?
Nothing. Smokescreen setup by his uncle, Gao Mu to divert attention away from himself. All Gao Mu & Uncle Zhang's work. They futzed with Su Yi's memories because Gao Mu fell in love with SuYi's mother, and wanted to remove SuYi's father from her mum's memories. He thought she would then fall for him instead. But I think SuYi's mum committed suicide when she found out she apparently lost her entire family in the car crash. So SuYi' was the test subject. Until her father found out, which set off the chain reaction of car crash, parents death, her full memory wipe and being sent to Japan.
Cathing up on the news about this, and ...I get the feeling that there is only 1 star allowed in China. Get too famous and all manner of interesting bad habits suddenly get "discovered"...Whether it's taxes, incriminating photos's, or who you choose to sleep with. True or not, consensual sex acts between two adults isn't something any government *ever* needs to stick it's nose into. Especially when most politicians can't keep it in their pants on a good day.
Jeremy Tsui´s voice: deep and sultry, absolutely loved him in The Autumn Ballad. But for Be my princess was dubbed:…
I've never understood this thing with dubbing Jeremy Tsui's voice after hearing the real thing. He has such a deep rich voice, and he conveyed that dry/wry sense of humor his character had, perfectly!
Ga Mo Tak's (Yoo Joon Sang) workout on the bar, was ...eye opening. Man has *no* right to be that ripped. It was *so* distracting. Not to mention Ji Chung Shin's (Lee Hong Nae) last scene. The main men rarely got their shirts off, but sweet unholy hells did they make it worth their while when they did. All that and a sweet found family bonding show with a happy ending!!! I'm looking forward to the 2nd season.
I actually consider The Untamed and Word of Honor as both being good gateway drugs for CDrama's. They're main characters all have more modern outlooks/attitude on life, the plot & pacing is pretty decent, compared to a lot of drama's which can drag. They both fully of lots of snappy banter and witty combacks, and hilariously silly comical moments. Not to mention they have the prerequisist gorgeously draped pretty people beating each other up with large pointy objects & splashy magics.
This is actually good drama. the best thing is I love they really cast lots of casting and director/writer gave…
I think some of the FL's wear contacts like that to give the impression of larger eyes... It's just as wierd as wearing different colour contacts for me.
Tie Lang 😢. I don't know why his death affected me the most. I think it's because in comparison with Zi Liuli,…
Tie Lang's death definitely did hurt the most, for all those reasons. He was so sweet and honest, and I really wanted to see those two parts of himself reconciled more when he woke up and I really wanted to see him wandering around their new world.... I also kinda wished Zhang Ling had followed the Wolf Clan to their new world, but I know he still had lots of friends in this one. I honestly would have preferred far less of the the hell fox and XiaoYu/KunLun and more of Tie Lang/Wolf King at the end. ...I was also heartily tired of HellFox and her giggling, tho I suppose it was very true to the character and her batshittery.
Allen and Li Qin are one of my favourite actors but holy hell they have no chemistry together in this drama. I…
His physical presence wasn't *too* bad, but yeah, at times his voice felt *very* flat. It was almost like he had a cold throughout the entire shoot. :P But he's easy on the eyes, and does angst well enough that I can put up with it.🤣🤣🤣 ... I've seen him in quite a few shows now, and this definitely felt the worst, so I'm wondering if the director didn't manage to get the best out of him. If he's a newish actor, a good director or a director that knows how to work with him can probably make a world of difference.
Nice to see him playing a good guy here. He was an ass in Side Story of Fox Volant.
True, but he's also very good at playing an arse. He can play such a sleezy bastard at times, so I think this is part of why I enjoyed him in this role. It was such a enjoyable change up from all the roles I've seen him do recently.🤣🥰
Hei Zi playing such a disgruntled & grouchy Dad is the awesome, and Xiao Shen Yang as her Uncle is almost as good!!!…
I enjoyed this. It had an open ending, but a much more positive suggestion than most ambigious endings. RJL was a bit monotonous with his delivery, but he's cute enough that I can give him a pass. Everyone else seemed to have a ball with this series, and I really grew to like Li Qin's feisty DengDeng. All the supporting cast were excellent & the supportive family vibe definitely gave me life. The plot was a bit wobbly at times, but I didn't have any major issues. I sometimes also felt Leon Lai phoned in his delivery at times, or maybe the director didn't want to bother with pulling out the best from his villains, as they were all a bit one note.
Wei Guang, Empress & Lang Kun are definitely the real MVPs here. NingZhi, she's meant to be the lead, but she feels very lacking in noticeable ability in a lot of places. Sometimes it feels like her actual skillset comes down to, She can see through circus tricks, is kind and belives in WG. Almost everything she did successfully was from implementing WG's advice. To be honest, I was immensely disappointed in her from the moment she decided to cover up Prince Bei's death. It felt very hypocritical.
