I didn't have any strong feelings about Song Yi's character in 'Destined' and actually dropped that drama because I forgot to keep watching it.

But I absolutely LOVE her in this drama. She is so beautiful and is doing such an amazing job as the lethal general, caretaker of her army, and in the sweet/flirty scenes. It makes me want to start watching 'Destined' again (and more of her previous roles). So impressed with her here.

I agree, but I also think he's an excellent actor! He's doing a great job with all three roles so far.

I hope Darren Chen's character is for Lu Xin, I really like her and don't think Ji Ran deserves her.

Also, finding the other secondary love story super cute with the strong guard and the ruffian. <3

I would say 100% yes, especially if you like fantasy, romance, intrigue, and creative, bada$$ fight scenes.

Yes! This drama does a great job of making the characters full / real people. Both the ML and FL are impressively nuanced.

Right? There's something about this character. I think it's that fact that he's so damn *competent* at absolutely everything he does whether it be choosing fabric, shooting with a bow and arrow, military strategy, making plum buns, or mentoring her brother. He's manly because he's actually good at everything.

He's so hugely competent, and it's extremely attractive.

If it hasn't captured you by now, then it might not be for you. I was FULLY engrossed by the end of episode 1 and now I am counting the hours until the next episode releases.

I've had similar situations, where I made it to episode 6 or 7 and just wasn't feeling it. Life is too short to watch a drama you don't enjoy! Maybe move on to something else. <3
