Because the ML thinks (and the father thinks) that he (the father, aka the Grand General) killed the ML's brother. Neither of them seem to know that the brother is chained up by the evil empress.
Are we even watching the same drama? lol The only bad thing he does is forcing her to marry him and everything…
LOL! These are all good points. Did he have her whole residence killed? I don't remember that part. I thought that was the evil wizard and his psycho brother.
I do 100% agree that he did Jin An dirty by giving him the drink spiked with the water that suppresses his powers.
Random, but I cannot understand how the rating for this drama is 8.2 This is a SOLID 10 for me and is definitely in my top 3 dramas of the year. It's so addictive, and the set up 'til now has been perfection.
Usually, I get bored around episode 24-28 and have to force myself to finish. This is the first CDrama this year where I am on the edge of my seat with every episode, especially since episode 26.
Oh my. We're not giving enough credit to Cheng Lei for his acting ability. That scene in ep.30 where he reveals…
It was BRILLIANT. His acting in ep 30 was absolute perfection. He's so torn and confused, living as two different people with two different sets of priorities and memories. He's doing great!
of all the things to bargain with the emperor about, she chose to marry as a consort. Whether it's loyalty to…
And she cut ties with her father, and she beleived that Jin An would forget her right away after the Jade Linglong was removed. And she even says several times that she entered the compound believing that she and Jin An were going to die together. She had no expectation of leaving there alive. The first thing she says when she wakes up is, "We're alive!" like she can't believe it.
So, y'all hating on Su Muyan, I get it. But I do understand his perspective on everything except forcing Li Shuang to marry him.
This below is only a spoiler if you haven't watched to episode 30
Personally, I was okay with him killing his father and brother, both of whom tried to murder him SEVERAL times. I was also a-okay with him killing his wife and the prime minister. They were both using him as a puppet and bullying him to get what they wanted. Jin An told Su Muyan back in Lauchen that mercy just becomes a weapon of your enemies later and Jin An was 100% right. Don't forget, Su Muyan's wife knew Su Muyan was going to his death in Lauchen, and she happily sent him there. She was pathetic and sad in the end only because she knew she was going to die. I did not feel sorry for her or her father (as an aside, I love that actress. I think she's awesome).
I'm still hoping Su Muyan wakes up and becomes a benevolent ruler somehow. Other than trying to force Li Shuang to marry him, all his actions to this point feel justifiable as someone struggling to survive. He never wanted to be the emperor, but he was forced into that role, and now he's trying to figure out how to navigate it. And killing the prime minister made total sense since the prime minister was trying to get his brother in law (a corrupt official) off scot-free. Y'all act like the prime minister and his daughter were innocent. They were not.
They said that all of Jin An's memories would slowly disappear, but they didn't say it was limited to Jin An's memories only while having the Jade Lingong inside him. Jin An will cease to exist slowly, and every memory made while being Jin An will disappear as Prince Annan reasserts himself. Prince Annan will remember the feelings (like he did when he met Li Shuang 's brother again) but any time or memory created as Jin An (before or after the Jade Lingong was removed) will fade away.
Which is why he doesn't remember Li Shuang in the trailers for episode 32 (a ton of time has probably passed) and why he claims that he does everything "aboveboard" as Prince Annan. (because he doesn't remember being Jin An at all).
What I'm thinking happens based on all the random clips thus far: 1. Jin An is now Annan (as of episode 28) and remembers all his Annan memories, but his Jin An memories are fading. 2. Prince Annan pretends to be Jin An and sincerely asks the emperor for Li Shuang in marriage and then feels betrayed when he finds out that she pledged herself to the emperor. 3. Prince Annan decides to kidnap Li Shuang and kill Grand General Li 4. Before he can do either of the above, Li Shuang discovers Jin An is really Prince Annan and confronts him. 5. They fight and he (again sincerely) asks Li Shuang to leave with him; Li Shuang turns him down because she knows Prince Annan is plotting to kill her father. (The clip below of her stabbing him) 6. Prince Annan is pissed and feels betrayed, goes back to his army, and vows to make Li Shuang his one way or another. 7. Prince Annan and Li Shuang meet on the battle field; she saves him/won't hurt him, which surprised him. He wins the battle and takes her hostage. 8. Torture scene where he taunts her (because he's hurt and sad that she betrayed him) 9. Prince Annan takes her to safehouse or somewhere similar, Li Shuang recuperates; they spend time together; he confronts her again and kisses her forcefully 10. Somehow, Li Shuang is kidnapped by the evil empress and held hostage to control Prince Annan. 11. Li Shuang and Prince Annan join forces to remove the corrupt emperor and empress.
At some point, Li Shuang loses her father and Prince Annan tries to give her back the jade hair pin but she refuses. This is another clip floating around. . . .
I CAN'T WAIT!! The tension and angst are going to be SO GOOD!
