Oh no he was drawn to her but he didnt act on it. She goes to a hotel with her ex and though she says it meant nothing she certainly looked to be passionate and loving it. Disrgarding both mens feelings. She then feels sorry for herself and ridicules him. She was way worse not to mention unprotected sex he did well not to just toss her aside immediately what an awful woman

I finished it yesterday the leads carried it. I dont think they meant her as unattractive maybe just not supermodel material like kim sa rang. It wasnt terrible but there was a lot of silly stuff.

The Third Charm wasn't that bad. In fact I find this genuinely refreshing and an eye opener at some instances. This drama is easy to be misunderstood because you'll need to take a closer look to the characters and the messages it want to convey before totally understanding them. What separates Young Jae and Joon Young was their differences. During each other's absense, that's when they started understanding each other, they met again everytime they've come to that realization. The ending was left open and that was one of the kind of endings viewers hate but if we'll take a wider look, that's actually how "The Third Charm" works. Young Jae and Joon Young finally understand each other, them walking the same paths at the ending represents it. This drama had many symbolisms and if ignored, will cause more misunderstanding of its intention. I find the ending amusing, because Joon Young ends up being successful in his career (which is Young Jae's dream) and Young Jae ends up working on a local salon near her loved ones (representing how Joon Young originally wanted to live a normal and quiet life).

I also find the representation of the four seasons in our leads' life very effective. SPRING which is the beginning, SUMMER, a joyous and active season, AUTUMN, the transition and closer approach to end, and WINTER, the season where it's the coldest and we seek comfort and warmth to others, also where we prepare to start again.

There are some instances where the characters' motives and decisions were questionable and confusing, particularly Young Jae. That's one of the downhills of the drama, you'll have to sit through and wait a week after feeling frustrated and confused. This drama is probably better to binge-watch. The music pieces were also brilliant and the songs were catchy. Mature and outstanding performances to all the casts, especially our leads Seo Kang Joon and Esom. Overall, I believe this is a well-thought and well-written drama, but is very easy to misunderstood given that the setting and ending is quite different from your typical Kdramas.

Whats hard to understand the FL as you say is apparently career driven apparently in love, apparently too independent to compromise herself for love, apparently is not going to give up her ambitions or let herself go beacause of love, is apparently too damaged to just need love she needs more shes not sure about the ML now she loves him but... can she love really? is he coming on too strong is he too possessive is he too needy. Yes this is uncomfortable to watch but realistic.
Hold on heres another guy richer more succesful, a doctor, he comes on very strong, wait hes really over stepping his boundaries, very needy/stalkerish/inappropriate but our FL wont fall for that, hes just a more varnished version of the ML, everything else we learnt about her still stands. His corny ott tactics wont work on our girl. Oh she broke up 💔 with ML, mmm maybe very disappointing but can happen such is life. At least as her friend says it wasnt because of the doctor guy that would just make our FL cruel, fake, shallow, selfish, hypocritical, kinda pathetic but shes not that shes not perfect but not like that!!! Timeskip oh oh. WAIT WHAT shes not a career woman ambitious and tough anymore?? based on length of time she more or less immediately got married and had a baby after dumping ML what?? But with who??? OMG ITS THE FUCKING DOCTOR like WTF. All serious consideration for this show are now gone. This is not worth "understanding" anymore. How can i take this seriously anymore what a load of shit. LOL Well thought and well written????? Think again

Well i too am looking for consistency.. He is a scumbag basically but his character is then presented as a sort of wisecracking action man smiling and winking and being charismatic and one of the good guys too me that is infuriating and inconsistent AF.

Tbh the FL is hard to like at first but she grows on you mainly becauseof the actress. The romance is kinda kicking off and it seems like yes basically but there is a definite sense that her feelings for him were deeperbut that her pride didnt allow her act on it and that she did like him but was such a slave to her image she couldnt allow herself to be with him. Tbh its all just excuses basically your appraisal is right.

Oh come on he was willing to get a rapist off how more cruel is okay for you. I didnt even think of the FL once i saw what he was like. His actiins are unforgivable

Are you seriously saying the FL loved the ML. Where in the drama do we see that. We see her cheating on him we see her using him we see her loving and marrying the doctor immediately after dumping him. We see her using him again we see her disrupting his life but wgere do we see her loving him im genuinely curious because remove the tragic death of the child and she is never going to see hear or care about him again how is that love. Do you really think you and a select few are the only ones intelligent enough to get this show???
It was just bad im afraid not at all as clever as it thinks it is.

Wow you really doubled down on the patronising only mature and intelligent people will enjoy this drama conceit.

What we see, what is written is clear. A mans life is highly influenced and basicalk
ly upended 3 times over 12 years due to his unrequited love for a horrible selfish woman who couldnt care less about him deep down. Fanciful notions people want to ascribe to characters' actions do not change this poorly written non story.

The key events are during their second iteration. Firstly he is heartbroken after being cruelly (with some understandable motives which she doesnt tell him about) dumped by the FL including her really putting him down. When they meey again he gets drunk and reveals the depth of his heartbreak, how he chose his career based on how she appraised him (insight into his level of feeling obsession) and she sits there and couldnt care kess. (She is consistently written as a heartless selfish bitch around ML it is not nuanced). When with ML discovers her past misfortune he goes to her she takes her solace in him for the second time, one more to go.

During this serious relationship the doctor character appeared. He was the first and only other guy who came along and told the FL he liked her, who showed any interest in her apart from ML, he was a terrible guy who pursued her while she is still in a relationship, but yet this first time this first instance she immediately essentially emotionally cheats with him and indulges him encourges him before half heartedly rejecting him. Yet when she breaks up with ML we are assured as audience during her conversation with friend its nothing to do with him. "people will think its because of the doctor but i know you i know thats not it" Well wrong it was. Everything you claim about this drama and especially about the FL fell apart after the time skip showed us that she, immediately after breaking up with ML went off and got married to the doctor and had his baby. It contradicts so much of what you claim.


1) she is a strong and opininated career woman NOPE. Not at all she was quickly a housewife working part time.

2) It complety negates your naval gazing about her crying in the bathroom and how you see this seminal moment where we must conclude the origins of her heartbreak. What heartbreak??? her immediate 4 to 5 year relationship with the doctor that follows belies any heartbreak, it just shows she was on her way to being over the ML while still in a relationship with him.

3) "But as their relationship deepens, problems start to arise because of their conflicting nature, and so it's becoming more important for them to understand what it means to find and love their own identities first before loving another person. "

This is laughable. Between 27 and 32 she takes no time to find or love her own identity first, she immediately loves the doctor marries him and has his baby. Its not complicated,

What true love there is only unrequited obsessive love from the ML. The FL has moved on and is perfectly happy. Had the tragic death of her child (distasteful and pathetic writing to use this as a plot device to have them meet again) not occured she would never see or hear from him again.

7) Believe me, if you come to this drama with a more matured mindset, you will really love this drama.

What a weird review was it grammar or something there is at least one line where im like did she mean him or her there. Another review seeing what wasnt there and in an urge to be more "insightful"than your average joe ignore what was there. No mention of her cheati g marraige or child kinda hard to take it seriously tbh

How does any of this seem slice of life or realiztic. His 10 yr unrequited love and associated anguish is still there as he again ends up away from her after being used again and dumped again . Her the apparent career woman is left with no ambition and a dead child. Do you really think people like these are typical. The FL in a serious relationship immediately emotionally cheats with the very first guy who says he likes her. The 2ML pursues her openly in front of ML despite her being in a relationship and barely knowing her and she lets it happen, she encourages it she is awful in this period. She then breaks up with ML but claims its not because of "this guy" the guy she cheats with, but!!!!!!! then immediately (like literally immediately) goes and has this guys baby and MARRIES him FFS. Despite her being too ambitious for the poor MLShe is happy to be a housewife and part time worker for 2ML. This poor child then dies tragically and yep of course she then breaks up with the guy. She then returns to the ML and disrupts his life (she doesnt know or care he is not really in love with 2FL she just has to have his help ) but then of course rejects him again once he's helped her.
I get what your saying about blah blah Happy Ever After stories being unrealistic or common but why is this stuff any more realistic. Its just the other end of the spectrum. Your take is okay except basically your saying anyone who doesnt like it just isnt in the right frame of mind and doesnt have enough life experience pretty patronising.
Happy Ever After fairytale romance is not realistic but neither are abject cruel miserable stories like this sorry tale.
Perhaps if the big lie about ending the second "charm" (her ending the first one was also cruel (but at least somewhat understandable) not being about the doctor wasnt there and she moved on with someone else that might have made a bit more palatable.
Also including the death of a child as a mechanism to end her relationship was just distasteful and okay this happens in real life but thankfully not enough to make it relatable to most people in a way slice of life dramas are supposed to be. Also writing it this way just cemented her selfishness in seeking out the ML. As if that doesnt happen she wouldnt infiltrate and upend his life again, in reality she wouldnt care less about him because she wouldnt need him.
So we have a very odd obsessive doormat guy who cant get over his first love and a really flawed really selfish woman who walks over this doormat again and again. Realistic? Satisfying? Insightful not even a tiny bit.

Im only on ep 10 but im getting HEA vibes tbh
