I dont remember if it was ever discussed here,Ā but there is one difficult to explain element in the story, that I decided to let it slide in my books anyway. Wai has outed PatPran's relationship during a dress rehearsal. However, Pran and Wai's convo at the beginning of the following episode seems to be happening after the final curtain bow. I assume there was more than one show open to the public. Does it mean Pran and Wai were avoiding each other for several days after the rehearsal debacle? Always a possibility irl, even if quite slim, but perhaps that was P'Aof's choice for a more dramatic effect
At 12 4/4 0:52 mark Pat's dad is reading Chinese-language newspaper. I am wondering if this is a local Thai-Chinese newspaper... same idea like in CAN or US, I guess
I am really at a loss of how to explain SAD MDL trolls who are giving 1s across the board... I can understand some BBS viewers may be picking holes here and there. It is totally understandable. BBS cannot satisfy everyone. It would be impossible. Feel free to give 4s or 5s, but provide constructive criticisms. I'd be interested in those opinions, even if I may not understand them. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all. Somebody has mentioned peeps may create multiple accounts, which is easy, just to downvote BBS on MDL... true sad sacks... Therefore, a much better gauge are YT likes, imho. Those are the latest approx. "like" stats for major parts: 12 4/4 96K 12 3/4Ā 60K
11 4/4 85K 10 4/4 106K 5 4/4 160K
I am actually loving reading also YT BBS comments. It's a massive outpouring of love & gratitude, bravos & thankyous, and whatnot, especially after the last episode. I can recall just a handful of negative ones. That says something! Btw, does anybody have a Chrome extension installed to see "dislikes", by any chance? They were still visible at the beginning, before the change in YT policy, but they were mere hundreds against thousands of š
Yup, so thatās why we are waiting for their possible wedding in the special/sequel! š
Only the fictional one, even in TW, unfortunately. PanPrat would not qualify to have a legal marriage there, due to specific TW same-sex marriage provisions
A couple of MDL results perturb me more than I'd like to... I work with numbers also and I don't like when they don't add up... Popularity is growing steadily, that's fair and square. However, overall score and rank look really odd. If you look at the stats, ratings are 9.11 or up. Single episodes are scored 9.4, or higher. Even personal reviews have 10s aplenty. BBS was in the top fifty, but is at #157 now? I don't really get it... what kind of frikkin' algorithm are they running? Unless somebody is tinkering with the formula...
Your Patās comparison to a golden retriever - bingo! :-) And talking about fashion choices in the show - are…
Another totally random piece of clothing was Wai's shirt from Deakin Security in the bar scene at 10:20 mark in 12 3/4. I'd really like Radiate Passivity message on a t-shirt. It has nothing to do with the position, but actually to signal some benign and peaceful demeanor at the moment š
Somebody has compared Pat to a golden retriever, which is quite apt breed comparison tbh š Btw, I don't know if it was related to the BBS budget or a deliberate choice, but I've noticed clothing was very casual...no fancy brands, or designer pieces. T-shirts were pretty much fun, though. Again, some where haphazard choices, some looked like intended puns. Pran wore plenty of horizontal stripes, (maybe to make him look bigger?), like with "Radiate Positivity" slogan in one of the latter episodes, for example. His epi. 12 "Happy hour" one, that lasted just five minutes, apparently, to his chagrin (the hour, not the t-shirt š¤Ŗ), was hilarious...
Pat wore sleeveless ones more often, like the infamous "Baseball Mum" to the epic rooftop scene.
Canadians were excited having spotted dark-colured "Tim Horton's" one (a very iconic Canadian coffee shop brand that we are very fond of, and that doesn't even have any presence in THA) in an early epi. He's even wore one from a Florida college varsity team. In the most important episodes (5 & 11,Ā maybe others?) he wore the same short-sleeve Hawaiian shirt. ...or simply strode around shirtless...
The visual aspects are quite captivating. Guys do even their own stunts! (wire jumps between the buildings). The romance for two couples is a slow, but pleasant, burner. I really liked how they critique current Thai social injustice, which is quite daring, tbh. The mood, visual and arc-wise, is quite dark, but there's a mystery in the air! You don't really know what to expect!
Pat āAll you do is work. Korn is gonna give out his wedding invitations before us.ā (12 3/4 10:42). Could it be an opening for a special epi in the making???!!!
Poor Pat in the kitchen in 12 4/4. Time marks in the spoiler
18:17 - watch on a large screen where Pranās leg is going LOL LOL 18:19 ā Patās lower back looks slightly bruised⦠from hitting the counter in repeated takes?
I'd like to carry on what @solipsism5 has mentioned it below. From a āWesternā prospective, Iād would perhaps like to see PanPrat be much more āconfrontationalā in regards to their parent. On the other hand, I sense it is still a pretty neat āThaiā resolution to the parental arc imho. Also, this is still a rom-com at its core, after all! Pran loves his parents much, but he did not hesitate to go to work abroad and is not stuck in the family house all his time when heās back in BKK. Pat stood his ground and is even more assertive. He has his own place and does not seem to be too deferential to his pa anymore. As I have mentioned before, the ābackgroundā parents seem pretty chill about PatPran, and the āquarrellingā parents are a slow work in progress, but with good hopes. Any other solution to the conflict would seem out of place in BBS. Ah, Pran dadās āThis show is just so goodā quip at 12 4/4 11:53 mark is PāAofās own assessment of BBS, methinks⦠(do they watch The Player, though?)
